The place was big for the price and he worked with us on flexible dates..carpet dirty and sugar ants all over kitchen/living and bathroom .. Beds comfortable and everything you need for cooking etc.. I'm not sure if they can get rid of the ants as it is a ground level condo..be prepared to buy a card for laundry or go to the laundry mat at the end of road .. I would stay again just know to put food items in fridge.. I like rhe quiet serene location of Makaha valley

My son and his wife and two small children flew form Japan and we flew from New Mexico to spend 12 days together. We did have some problems finding the place according to direction supplied. The grounds were beautiful and the staff on the location wonderful. For the price and size we had no other great expectations. The laundry was convenient and well kept. We used a near by beach for the Children to swim each morning. It was never crowded and the people who shared it with us were locals and very informative and friendly. We would go see the turtles come in at night at a near by beach and watch the sunset after dinner. There was an icebox for drinks and food and other beach stuff for our use in the condo. We put over a thousand miles on our rental car. The traffic was bad. Thankfully my son could use the Base short cuts to cut down on some of the driving. Thank you for providing a reasonably priced place for use to enjoy our family. There were plenty of towels and linens.

Quiet Makaha Valley

My family and I (2 adults and 2 school-aged kids) recently stayed here for 9 days. Many years ago we stayed in Waikiki so it was great to be with the locals and away from all of the noise this time.The condo was very clean (no sight of ants that was mentioned in a previous review) and the price was right for us. Condo was already stocked with dish washing detergent, sponge, salt, pepper. We really appreciated having wireless access, fans in every room, a full size fridge, cable tv, and a closet full of linens and towels. Condo complex is well maintained and very secure. Very quiet neighbors - even the pool area was quiet. Seems that all the residents comply with pool rules. Great having the laundry room across the way too! Didn't see any recycling bins however so we had to bring empty bottles to a local recyling center. Makaha Beach is 2 miles away. Amazing place to watch the waves and surf! Only 20 minutes to the calm lagoons at Ko Olina (perfect for families with young kids and decent snorkeling near the rocks). Only 30 minutes to Costco and Target, (recently opened) which was where we stocked up on groceries, snacks for the kids and gas. Quite a drive to the North Shore and east side (1 hour away). We didn't realize that Farrington Hwy ends so there's no shorter access to the North Shore, though that didn't stop us from visiting the North!

ants & roaches

The owner was very polite and helpful, however the condo itself was dirty and had little ants and roaches.The walls of the condo were filthy. I wiped the counter in the kitchen with a clorox wipe and it was yellow and black. The rental angency did try to make it better for us. They did send someone out to kill the bugs. My husband does pest control for a living and so needless to say we ended up just going and doing the pest control our selves after the man left. I would not recommend this property unless it was to be completely professionly cleaned and bombed for pests. My husband grew up there so we did enjoy the Beaches that are near by.

Owner response:I want to think Amannda for her review. Although it’s not the review I would like to receive, it does give me a good picture of an obvious problem that I was not aware of at our condo. This is the first negative review that I have received and I hope it will be the last. I have already made changes with the people who are cleaning our condo and will have a new person go through and do a complete cleaning and then continue to do the cleaning from now on. I contact the complex about the bug issue and was told that the grounds were recently sprayed and that has caused the bugs to go inside the units. We have requested that the inside our unit be treated at the same time as the outside and this will eliminate the problem. When I visit our condo (or any condo for that matter), the last thing I would want to do is worry about the cleanliness of where I am or have any concerns about little critters running around. I will do my best to assure that any other visitors to our condo have a clean, and fun place to stay.

My family and I stayed here for 10 days on our vacation. We enjoyed the location of the condo because we were away from the big crowds of honolulu and waikiki but still within a drive distance of all the action. The condo is very clean, quiet and comfortable. And the views of the mountains are just breathtaking.
