Starfish Blue- Named for the numerous shy, electric blue starfish that inhabit the front yard- the South Pacific Ocean. Located on a hill directly above the sea with private steps down to the water, you'll enjoy the view of the tranquil blue ocean and three neighboring islands.
Starfish Blue was custom designed for travelers. Honeymooners and couples love the privacy and master suite with in-room jacuzzi. Families love the on site pool, ocean access, and Sky TV. Adults traveling together appreciate the 3 en-suite bedrooms and plenty of fun activities.
Why stay on the Sunshine Coast for your holiday? The name says it all- more sunshine than other places in Fiji. Less rain means fewer bugs, and since we're on a breezy point, we hardly ever have mosquitoes, even when neighbors a few doors down are suffering. The tradewinds at certain times of the year make being in the sun more pleasant than other areas. While Nadi is great for shopping, the water is disappointing. Most guests spend quite a bit of money getting out of Nadi to get to the clear blue waters that Fiji is known for- which we have right at the edge of our property. We include snorkel gear for unlimited, free snorkeling on our reef. So, come, enjoy Starfish Blue, and the view from the pool deck or windows- it's like living in a painting.
Starfish Blue, a 3 bedroom 3 bath villa, will be your home away from home. The upstairs suite is exceptional-- hardwood floors, king size bed, an in-room jacuzzi, desk area, air conditioning, and private balcony with 2 hardwood loungers offer a place to relax and rejuevenate.
The two downstairs bedrooms, while smaller, are more typical of hotel rooms. They offer 1 queen bed each, a sitting area, a private bathroom and air conditioning, and direct access to the pool and ocean via sliding glass doors.
The living area has a full kitchen, stocked with such amenities as a refrigerator, stove, oven, blender, electric frying pan, panini maker, toaster, plates, dishes, pots, pans, etc. The dining area has a glass-topped table. The lounge area has a sofa and two chairs, and a TV with DVD player. You're welcome to bring your own DVD's. We also have CD players.
Just steps from your sliding glass door is an infinity edge pool with cool water spa. Six lounge chairs surround the blue accented pool with a blue starfish on the bottom. The pool has a magnificent view of the tropical landscape- the coral reef and 3 islands.
This property is in a quiet development adjacent to a small resort- Wananavu Beach Resort. Our guests can take full advantage of the resort- the pool with waterfall, the day trips, the restaurant and bar. Note some activities have a cost.

Why the Owner Chose Rakiraki
I had been to over 35 countries by the time I visited Fiji for the fist time in 1999. I enjoyed it, loved the people, thought it was a beautiful place. Then we traveled over the road hump strewn road to Wananavu Beach Resort. Inwardly, I wondered if the long trek would even be worth it. It was. A bit magical, like someone had lifted all of my cares and worries, and thrown them off of a cliff. The place is breathtaking- the coral lining the coast, the lush mountains, the people. At the moment when the resort owner took a few of us up the hill to look at a place where he envisioned a small enclave of holiday homes, I was hooked. I love art history, even studied it in college before graduating with a degree in Phychology- I love Europe, Asia, big cities, small towns, but there is nowhere in the world like this spot of paradise. To put it in perspective- Fiji is the same size as Hawaii, and only gets 1% of the visitors.

Hi Beth Just a quick note to express our gratitude to you for allowing us to use Starfish Blue last month. The property is just lovely, and we are very appreciative you gave us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful home in this unique and beautiful area of Fiji. We trust you were happy with the the way we treated the house. We were very careful with both water and power use, having a holiday home here in NZ which solely relies on tank water makes you very aware of how valuable the resource is and we simply applied the same rules to useage as we do at our own place! We also didn't find it necessary to use the airconditioning and only used the ceiling fans overnight. If we felt hot during the day, or in the evening, we simply jumped into the pool! We were very impressed with the design of the house, it is a real masterpiece! Also, I just love way the house sits so beautifully on the site and takes in the surrounds, it is amazing. We would like to rent Starfish Blue again next year if it is available and you will allow us. At this stage, we are looking at 4 weeks from the middle of Sept to middle Oct if it is available. Also, if I can be of any help to you here in NZ in securing prospective tenants for the house, please let me know as I am in property management. Hi, Beth! Just thought I'd drop you a line to let you know what a lovely time we had at Starfish Blue. You have created a really wonderful little getaway in a very special corner of Fiji, and we truly enjoyed ourselves and our time there. Even the drive up from Nadi turned out to be more fun than a chore - coming through all the little villages, we really felt we were seeing a side of Fiji that was a bit off the beaten track. We were quite glad we had decided to rent our own car - a couple of afternoons, we just piled in and went for a drive up the coast, looking at the gorgeous views and photo-ops (my sister is an aspiring amateur photographer, and she was going nuts!) And we found that the further east we went from Rakiraki, the better the reaction from the locals - one woman actually screamed and waved when she saw we were foreigners! The house was lovely, and the pool was fantastic - it felt quite luxurious, like we had our own resort! Lastly, being next to Wananavu was a real bonus - at the end of our second week in Fiji (which we spent at Musket Cove in the Mamanucas, with some meals at Plantation Island Resort) we all agreed that the best meals and entertainment we encountered in the whole trip were all at Wananavu. Simply outstanding. Anyway, I just wanted to give you a little feedback and tell you what a great time we had. Thanks for sharing your corner of Fiji with us, and good luck with future rentals!
