This stunning penthouse apartment is located in the heart of Recoleta in one of the best neighborhoods of the city. Equal in luxury to the presidential suite at the nearby Alvear Palace but larger and more convenient. In fact, we believe this is a bargain since the Alvear Palace is charging u$s 2,000- $3,000 per NIGHT for a smaller suite. This 200 square meter (2,152 square feet) gem is sure to please even the most demanding taste.
The apartment has two master suites; each with its own marble bath and Jacuzzi. The bath fixtures are even gilded with gold, bronze and silver. A large maid’s quarters and bath are furnished with bunk beds to accommodate a family with children.
There is a large eat-in kitchen as well as a formal dining room with upholstered walls, crystal chandelier and silk drapery. There are two elevators, one for you and your guests and one for service which enters into the kitchen.
The entry hall as well as the rest of the home is furnished with beautiful antiques and fine art. All hardwood floors and exquisite crown molding throughout the home take you back to the turn of the century Buenos Aires opulence.
The salon is large and well lighted with floor to ceiling window-doors opening to small balconies overlooking the streets below. Custom tailored silk window-dressings and ornate hardware adds beautiful framing to these large openings. French doors open into a small office that is high speed Internet ready.
This apartment was completely recently refurbished to take you back to a time of elegance around the turn of the century and yet it has the latest in infrastructure. All new plumbing, electric and even central heating and air conditioning, which is unheard of in old apartments in Buenos Aires.
Telephone service, two TV’s and Internet are all ready for your arrival. There is even a car garage just downstairs where you can keep you car while staying here.

We stayed in the apartment for a week and had a blast. It is very beautiful and excellent location. The only downside was the company that manages the apartment charged us $80.00 off our deposit for a old dish towel we got a coffee stain on. I don't have a problem being charged but $80.00 is a lot for a $2.00 towel. So be very careful.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Year Purchased: 1998
About the owner: Thalia and I currently live in Panama where I am a developer/builder of residential resort communities and my wife manages our resort hotel/spa operations. We have 5 children, three boys and two girls. I also write a well subscribed blog on investing in Panama.
Why the Owner Chose Recoleta:
My wife and I bought this apartment and renovated it completely with the plan to use it regularly. Unfortunately our time permits an occasional visit every two years or so. We love BA and have enjoyed the time we do get to spend here.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
This is a luxury property and one that we have tried to bring back to what life would be like around the turn of the last century. It is close to everything including at least 50 restaurants within a few blocks. We love the park activities every weekend with it flea market full of great arts and crafts.
