Nature Lovers: Excellent big game viewing, rock climbing, cross-country skiing, hiking, biking, and a host of other outdoor activities are whispering your name. Bring your four-wheelers, snowmobiles, skis, hiking boots, or moutain bike to explore the three-million plus acres of nearby Beaverhead National Forest and drive right up to our front door!

Sightseeing: Not the "outdoor" type? Then plan to visit these nearby attractions (on your own or we can help you out): Downtown Ennis (unique and quaint shopping), Virginia City (Historic Old West Town from the 1800's), Nevada City (pan for garnets & gold), Rocky Mountain Museum (one of the few exhibits of dinosaur eggs), Yellowstone National Forest (all day trip), Norris Hot Springs (experience the medicinal values of basking in a natural hot spring), Lewis and Clark Caverns, or spend the day driving the Gravelly Scenic Drive.

The cabin is remotely located at the top of the Shining Mountain area which is only accessible by land owners and is only 400 yards from a private entrance into the National Forest. This area includes the Greenhorn Range and Gravelly Range and is the only area in Montana that has all of the big game animals mentioned above. The only other public entrance is approximately 30 miles away so you will have an abundance of wildlife in the area. Elk and deer regularly graze in the lower areas and bears are sometimes spotted nearby. There is great lake, river, and stream fishing just a short drive from the cabin. This property is the dream location for the avid sportsman or nature lover!

Please be advised that this cabin is remotely located and cannot be accessed by a standard family car. You'll need to have a pickup or SUV to get to the top of the mountain (we will be happy to escort you to the cabin or have a 4x4 available for rent during your stay).
