A large, private, three bedroom, two bath, house with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean. Each bedroom is luxuriously appointed. The living room and dining area have a truly incredible six window view of the Pacific with white water waves crashing over exposed rocks. The house has a fireplace and two wood stoves, a well equipped kitchen and a large deck for enjoying the sunset. In addition to the three bedrooms is a cozy loft and quiet areas to read and relax.

You'll be a five minute walk to lovely Agate Beach, part of the Duxbury Reef Preserve. There you will find access to the Pacific Ocean, a quiet beach area and tide pools perfect for nature explorers of all ages. Nearby is also Bolinas Beach, a great place to play in the sand or take a surfing lesson from the Bolinas Surf School. A short drive by car is Stinson Beach and Point Reyes.

Close at hand are some incredible walks along the coast, including some trails into the southern end of Point Reyes National Seashore. During your stay you can also explore historic Bolinas. Founded in the 1850's, Bolinas has long served as a weekend getaway for San Franciscans, though in earlier times they would arrive by boat. Bolinas remains a great retreat and maintains a local culture shaped by the 1960's counter-culture movement.

  • Walk to Agate Beach, part of the Duxbury Reef Preserve, Duxbury Reef is the largest shale reef in North America, The California Academy of Science runs tide pool adventures to this reef several times a year, This amazing spot and its adjacent sand beach is a short walk from the house, Also, you'll find incredible hiking in nearby Point Reyes National Seashore and really all the surrounding areas, Point Reyes or Tomales Bay make incredible day trips, Nearby Stinson Beach has a wonderful soft sand beach and places to rent sea kayaks, Horseback riding nearby, "Downtown" Bolinas has its own beach, museum, art gallery, library, general store, natural food store, plus Smiley's Schooner Saloon - in operation since the 1850's, and other interesting shops, Bolinas has very gentle waves and is a great place to learn to surf, 2Mile Surf Shop has board and wet-suit rentals and surfing lessons, there's a bike rental shop and a video/dvd rental store, See our site for more info

My husband and I both found the setting so serene and peaceful, yet access to town and the beach was very easy. I want to say that I have never stayed in a rental house that was so well-equipped!   • We really enjoyed our stay at the house in Bolinas. It was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed being so close to the ocean, with such wonderful views. My 4 year old nephew was excited to see deer nearby. The house was a good size for the 6 of us, with plenty of space to spread out.

  • Bolinas House offered a totally comfortable weekend for my 45th birthday gathering of friends and family. Like Las Vegas, there really is no need for clocks -- the time just goes by...having coffee on the deck or from the comfortable living room; kitchen is well-stocked; beds are comfortable. It's nice that previous guests leave their extra tea, coffee, etc. We'd do it again!

  • If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing get-away, this is the place for you. The house has magnificent views of the ocean from the dining room/living room. There is nothing better than sitting on a comfy couch with a hot cup of coffee watching the sun rise and set over the ocean. Some of my favorite parts of the house: a fully stocked kitchen, 3 fireplaces, and an ocean-view private master bedroom. My family and I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable "home away from home". We will definitely be back.

  • My family spent a wonderful three nights in Bolinas House in December 2007. The place is charming. We were happy to find the kitchen well-stocked with quality utensils, dishes and pots and pans, making cooking easy. The bedrooms were big and comfy (downstairs is like a "mini-suite" with its own bathroom, sitting area and TV/DVD). The house is immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. Best of all are the family room and dining room, which have magnificent views of the ocean. We spent hours in the family room, reading, playing cards and doing puzzles. In addition to the surf, we enjoyed watching deer and hawks through the picture windows. Neighbors are a comfortable distance away, so the house feels really private. Large tide pools are a five minute walk, and I discovered a nice running trail not far away, on park service land. Stinson Beach is a ten-minute drive, and there are some great dining options, such as the Olema Inn, within a short driving distance as well. We definitely hope to return soon.
