If you're looking for a relaxing getaway spot, this is it ! The setting is absolutely spectacular, close enough to the ocean for a view from most windows, yet far enough for absolute peace. I was only there for a weekend but could have easily stayed much, much longer. The house is tidy and well-maintained and super cozy. I loved the soft sheets, copious blankets and clean, fluffy towels. And the kitchen is impressively well-stocked. It's obvious that the owners have put a lot of thought into making their guests as comfortable as possible. I especially appreciated the binder of useful information about the house, including how to operate the tv, etc., and how to get around and what to do in Bolinas and the surrounding area. The bracing walk into town and brunch at the Coast Cafe was a highlight, for sure. Nothing beats the semi-wild scenery and ocean air of the northern California Pacific coast. The weather was absolutely spectacular as well, hardly a cloud in the sky all weekend. I will wholeheartedly recommend Bolinas House to anyone I know looking for a perfect retreat from the stresses of the city !

We stayed at Bolinas House in August and had a blast. The house is huge with beautiful views and lots of privacy. Located in a rustic little neighborhood right on the edge of the coast we enjoyed watching the boats go by from the panoramic windows and large deck. My husband and I enjoyed the suite on the first level with it's own bathroom, fireplace and outside access with deck. Our youngest promptly set up her room in the loft above the livingroom and loved being able to peer down at us. The kitchen was fully stocked and we had everything we needed to enjoy some local cheeses, bread and produce. We enjoyed warm fires, walks to the beach, day trips to Point Reyes Station and Stinson Beach but mostly just loved the big comfortable house and the little town of Bolinas. A hidden gem that reminded us of a town from the past that just never chose to move into current day. The little museum is a must for local art and has a whole room dedicated to the history of Bolinas. Such a colorful and interesting past! We loved the laid back vibe and found the locals to be friendly and their dogs, that mostly roam free, to be a quirky and fun addition to the experience. We thouroughly enjoyed every aspect of our visit and plan to return in the future. Thanks Heather, for a relaxing and unique vacation!

We were very pleased your home was available during our vacation time. The Bolinas area was fun to explore, the Duxbury Reef at Agate Beach was a unique experience, and we found your home to be welcoming, well-equipped and down-right relaxing. We left feeling renewed and rejuvenated with lots of family memories... flying the kites, guessing song titles, eating fresh crab with San Francisco Sourdough bread and relaxing on the beautiful deck with a good book. This was our first rental through VRBO. We found Heather to be very organized and wonderful to work with. One of our friends and a relative visited us at the home while we were there. They'd like to schedule some time at the house as well--I just hope they remember to invite my husband and I!!!

We had the most amazing time last weekend at this house for the double birthdays of my husband and father-in-law. Our 8-year-old son came with us and this house was so accommodating and perfect for our family! We barbecued Tamales Bay oysters on the grill and played corquet in the backyard (once the rain finally stopped). It was a rainy weekend, but it certainly didn't stop us. We walked down to the tide pools and saw plenty of starfish and hermit crabs. The house itself was very clean and organized and well maintained. With 3 bedrooms and a loft, we had plenty of space for our family. And the ping pong table was a highlight of our weekend! Everything that you could need is in this house. The area of downtown Bolinas is very friendly and charming and we had great meals at Coast Cafe and Farmhouse. We will definitely be back! Thanks Heather for being so organized and accommodating!

Dear Heather, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful home with our family this weekend! We had two AMAZING mornings at the Minus Tides. It was so convenient to roll out of our (very comfortable) beds in Bolinas and walk just 5 minutes to our 6am Pt. Reyes Field Seminar at the tidepools at Duxbury Reef (HIGHLY recommended btw)! The views are truly spectacular from your Bolinas House, we spent a lot of time in the dining room and on the porch just enjoying the breathtaking vista. We loved how well-stocked your cupboards are, thank you so much for remembering all the little touches that made us feel right at home. The boys loved the loft, were overjoyed to find your "secret" toy box, and adored having deer come visit right in your yard throughout the day! We look forward to returning the favor at our home-away-from-home in Tahoe Donner! Please come visit Bruin Woods when you are able! Warmly, Michelle, Jeff, Trevor and Parker Greenbrae CA and Tahoe Donner (VRBO 158357)

"Heather, we had a wonderful time. The house was comfortable & well stocked. We bought crabs off the boats, oysters at Tomales Bay & went clamming. Our meal on Saturday night included fresh cracked crab, steamed clams, prime rib, & barbecued oysters. The children were thrilled & thanks for providing the high chair. Could hardly keep Anaya, grandchild, out of it. We were delighted with the food, amazing views & sleeping arrangements. I have recommended the house to friends & hope to find time to stay there again in the future. Thanks for the experience & the quality time my family had together. We also had a ping pong competition. Unfortunately I lost." Kathy & Rick

Dear Heather, I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at your house. The 3 weeks flew by and we were very sad to leave. My husband and I both found the setting so serene and peaceful, yet access to town and the beach was very easy. I want to say that I have never stayed in a rental house that was so well-equipped! Thank you!

We really enjoyed our stay at the house in Bolinas. It was very quiet and peaceful and we enjoyed being so close to the ocean, with such wonderful views. My 4 year old nephew was excited to see deer nearby. The house was a good size for the 6 of us, with plenty of space to spread out.

Bolinas House offered a totally comfortable weekend for my 45th birthday gathering of friends and family. Like Las Vegas, there really is no need for clocks -- the time just goes by...having coffee on the deck or from the comfortable living room; kitchen is well-stocked; beds are comfortable. It's nice that previous guests leave their extra tea, coffee, etc. We'd do it again!

If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing get-away, this is the place for you. The house has magnificent views of the ocean from the dining room/living room. There is nothing better than sitting on a comfy couch with a hot cup of coffee watching the sun rise and set over the ocean. Some of my favorite parts of the house: a fully stocked kitchen, 3 fireplaces, and an ocean-view private master bedroom. My family and I couldn't have asked for a more comfortable "home away from home". We will definitely be back.

My family spent a wonderful three nights in Bolinas House in December 2007. The place is charming. We were happy to find the kitchen well-stocked with quality utensils, dishes and pots and pans, making cooking easy. The bedrooms were big and comfy (downstairs is like a "mini-suite" with its own bathroom, sitting area and TV/DVD). The house is immaculately clean, and tastefully decorated. Best of all are the family room and dining room, which have magnificent views of the ocean. We spent hours in the family room, reading, playing cards and doing puzzles. In addition to the surf, we enjoyed watching deer and hawks through the picture windows. Neighbors are a comfortable distance away, so the house feels really private. Large tide pools are a five minute walk, and I discovered a nice running trail not far away, on park service land. Stinson Beach is a ten-minute drive, and there are some great dining options, such as the Olema Inn, within a short driving distance as well. We definitely hope to return soon.
