Our last night here - we had a wonderful visit. Unfortunately my father-in-law didn't follow proper fuild intake and got a bad case of altitude sickness and they had to head back to California a few days earlier than planned. My mother-in-law wanted me to tell you how responsive and professional the Mercy clinic was in their care of my father-in-law. She kept raving about the service the recieved. It was an otherwise perfect family trip...all of us being able to gather and relax together. Enjoying the sunrise and sunsets against the Needles Mts. And my granddaughter got to see it snow for the first time in her life, her first night here and to have snow for breakfast. The rest of the week it has been just sunny and pleasant for nature walks and exploring Thanks for sharing

The condo was the perfect place for our family! The living area was spacious and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, pots, pans, even some spices! The view is amazing! The location was perfect, too. Very close to the base, lodge, and ski school. The kids loved sledding behind the condo each afternoon after skiing. I would love to stay here again! Thanks for a great experience.

Nice condo--worked well for Thanksgiving family getaway

The property description and photos were accurate and fair. Rich was quick to respond to questions. Great location, especially if you’re skiing--a bit inconvenient if you want to spend most of your time in town as it’s 30 miles north of Durango. It is a good value--size for the cost. Some issues: Although it hadn’t snowed in several days the steep driveway to the units not sanded or plowed so had difficulty getting car up. Only two cars were allowed at the condo so extras had to park about 1/4 mile away and the walk up and down the steep driveway was hazardous. Owner really should arrange to have this salted or plowed. Not especially clean--unit needed vacuuming, cabinets were dirty. Because of that we lacked confidence and felt we needed to wash all the glasses, flatware and dishes before we used them. Take your own bath soap (only 2 tiny bars), extra trash bags (only two provided) and toilet paper (very limited provided) Fireplace -- lots of wood. Take your own kindling and lighter. Internet didn’t work. Fortunately there were plenty of pluses: Upstairs has open space plan--kitchen, dining room, TV area-- and very amenable to large family gathering. It has great views, is nicely decorated, comfortable seating, fireplace and large TV. Master BR is large with closet and dresser for storage. Tub has jets. Kitchen has standard frig and stove, nice dishware set and plenty of glassware. There are many pots & pans--collection of odds and ends most of which which should be thrown out. That would leave more cabinet space for the groceries renters will bring in; The unit easily accommodates eight people in four BR, Additional people on TV room sofas and sleeper. Towels are limited as is extra bedding, sheets and blankets. Overall we had a great time in this condo. The owner has tried hard to provide for good experience and limit the negative surprises. If he’d see to better cleaning and take care of the scary driveway I would have given it an A rating.

Quiet, spacious mountain condo

For years, we've had our "usual" places to stay in Durango -- both in town and at DMR -- but we needed a bigger place this time, and came across the listing for this condo. I think we have found our NEW "usual" place to stay! The condo is exactly as described. It's very clean and well-supplied. All of the rooms, including the bedrooms, are spacious, updated, and comfortable. The kitchen, great room, and dining area provide plenty of space for the whole family to hang out without bumping into each other. And the view from the deck is spectacular! Book with confidence... you won't be disappointed!

The condo exceeded our expectations. It was well appointed, quiet and conveniently located to serve as a home base from which to explore the beautiful surrounding towns, lakes and mountains. We had a bit of trouble getting the TV up and running, but Rich was at our side in a minute to quickly correct the problem. Great condo for family

Our family (3 couples & 5 children, 9 to 12 years old) had great time here. Good kitchen for breakfast & dinner. Plenty of room. Awesome view of mountains from living area & deck. Plenty of storage for items we brought. Very nice bathrooms. Big dining table & comfortable seating for TV & reading. Spent 1 day doing resort activities (coupons available different places). Did train (bought adult/child free-certain times & days). Scenic drive to Durango & good road. No breeze ever but had 3 fans which helped. Had plenty of beds. Thanks, owners. We were happy we found your place.

Durango Mtn Condo

Very comfortable condo for family use. Really enjoyed the area. Was so quiet with hardly any other vacationers/residents there in the off-season. Spent most of our time in Durango and didn't prepare many meals at condo, but enjoyed the evenings with grand children. Would recommend condo to other family members and friends.

We had a great time in August 2010. Had 7 adults (2 college age). Pool and hot tub was great and deserted off season. A bit of a drive from Durango, but nice to be out of the city. Very quiet in the development. Well equipped and nice layout for the great room. Most of the beds super-comfortable. Enjoyed Durango and even went as far afield as Moab, UT. Had a medical crisis and the local EMT was great, showed up in under 15 minutes at 2 AM. Well-equiped and professional.

Our family loved being at this condo. It was relaxing and we loved sitting out on the deck. The weather was perfect. The owners were easy to work with and would love to go back next year. Our children loved the games that were provided. We only stayed one night, but everyone wished we had booked it for longer.

Condo was really family friendly. We slept 9 quite comfortably and liked the close access to Durango Mountain Resort. The kids had plenty to entertain them dispite the rain! The Condo itself is older but has a great floorplan for kids to go to bed early and parents who want to stay up later. It is nicely appointed, not overly decorated so a parent with young children such as ours didn't need to fret about the kids touching or breaking anything. Great view from the balcony with a grill. The most excited event was the visit to the back of the Condo by a very large black bear looking for a picnic basket. If you seem him, tell him hi from my 10 year old son who was wided eyed and both scrared and excited by the visit. The bear answers to Yogi...

Family Vacation

We had a great time. The condo was clean and very comfortable. Great location for all of the many activities that different members of our party wanted to participate in. The view was wonderful. We brought all ages in our party and everyone found plenty to do. Would definitely like to come again.

We have stayed at both properties by this owner. Cannot say enough good things about our experience. This condo has great views, everything you need, and is in a great area of DMR. This large condo was great, and would be excellent for a big family or group. Rich is a great host, provides lots of info regarding the area including all the best places to eat, what's available close by, contact numbers, and truly made both our trips a breeze. We hope to come back again.

This was our first time using VRBO and Rich Reedy was very helpful. We had a two family get-together over Easter. We took a chance on the late season weather and were delightfully rewarded with good spring snow. The condo was clean and roomy, and the view of the mountains exceptional. We enjoy cooking and international foods and there was plenty of kitchen counters and work space. We also used the grill on the outside deck. A real unexpected bonus was the use of the Durango Mountain Club -- outdoor heated pool and jaccuzzi and indoor game room for the kids. We had a wonderful time, look forward to returning to Sitzmark 5 and highly recommend it.

Rich was a great host for our two-family inaugural ski trip with very young children. The condo is very clean, has plenty of room, and truly has an amazing view. We also felt very welcomed at the community center. Great trip. We will definitely return.

We rented the condo first week of Jan. 2010. Very clean, fully furnished; very comfortable; everyone loved relaxing in front of fire at the end of the day. Very close to the slopes, and an easy walk to the Village. Had a great meal at the DMC. The snow was great; all around great trip. Love to go back.

We stayed at the condo in the beginning of December. There were 12 of us including 5 children and there was plenty of room. The view was absolutely beautiful and the condo was perfect. we (10 of us) highschool friends and 3 husbands. got there late pm on oct 05/09. couldn't see much but in the morning "wow" . the view was breath taking.nextday train trip and on the way back we went out door hot spring. the location worked out great. 2 day staying was very comfortable and made all 10 of us very happy. thanks and hope you have wonderful new year. This was our first family vacation in many years and Rich delivered! The Condo was great and on our second day there it snowed at least 8 inches! The layout of the condo is outstanding and with 8 adults in our party is was very roomy. Easy walk to the lifts & the skiing was great. Hope to make our New Years vacation with Rich an annual event. We really enjoyed our stay at the condo. The view out the sliding glass door IS outstanding! The area is very quiet and the quick access to the lifts made this an awesome place to stay. Being able to visit the Durango Mountain Club with hot tub, pool, exercise room, and bar made this a great deal for the money. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Paying for our stay and receiving our deposit back was handled in a very timely and user friendly manner. Thanks Rich for a great holiday!

This condo was fantastic! We came as a group of 8 for Thanksgiving, and couldn't have asked for anything more, except snow! The condo was well stocked and made preparing a large Thanksgiving meal a breeze. The pool and hot tub were a nice addition, and Rich was very accommodating and helpful. This place made for a very joyous trip!

We stayed here at the end of September with my parents and 18 month old daughter. The condo had a great living area and was perfect for our daughter to have space to play in. The view from the deck was amazing and we enjoyed several fires. It was so nice to come back from a day in town and have everything to make dinner at the condo. We had a very nice time and would definately come back!!

We (party of six) stayed at Rich's condo September 17 through 22. We found the main living area to be very pleasant. We enjoyed some wonderful family time together. The sofa was very comfortable as we enjoyed watching movies on the big screen T.V. We used the wood burning fireplace several nights and cooked all our meals at the condo. The dish washer didn't do a great job cleaning dishes due to hard water problem so we did dishes by hand. The other appliances were great. The kitchen has a nice island area to prepare food. The master bedroom upstairs was very nice. The downstairs bedrooms were comfortable though lighting could be improved. We enjoyed our stay very much and felt Rich to be very helpful. We used the exercise facility and hot tub at Purgatory Lodge as the community center wasn't open. Very high quality! Our favorite sight seeing day was definitely Mesa Verde Cliff dwellings. I know you will enjoy your stay at Rich's condo in Durango Resort. The drive from the condo to Durango is absolutely beautiful. Also some beautiful water to do some trout fishing right in Durango. This is long but wanted to give other renters assistance in making their decision.

We had a lovely stay in Rich's Durango Mountain Resort condo at the end of August. Our bulldog, Bella, loved sitting on the deck and watching the amazing nature. We took some fabulous hikes, and Rich was a great repository of local information. The views of the Twighlight Peaks from the deck at sunset and sunrise are awesome! We will be back for sure if we don't buy a condo ourselves!

The condo was a great place to stay for our group of 9. Rich's neighbor has humming bird feeders and we saw more hummingbirds than we have ever seen in our life. One of the downstairs queen bedroom was like a tree house. My 15 year old loved it, but we had to move my parents to the sofa bed (instead of that room) in the living room because the climb up into the bed. We cooked at home most nights and the kitchen was pretty well stocked with cooking utensils.It was a great place for our large group to be.

The condo was roomy and clean with great accessibility to the events at the ski hill base (alpine slide, climbing wall...). Use of the pool and workout facilities was a great amenity, especially for our 2 young children.

We came to Durango for the first time for some Spring Break skiing. We traveled with another family so there were 11 of us in total. We not only loved Purgatory, but also our lodging. It worked perfectly for us. We had a great view and a great place outside for the kids to sled and play in the snow. We were close to the slopes. The part that made our stay so wonderful was how well our owner worked with us prior to our stay. He was always available for questions and had a lot of suggestions for where to go, rent, shop and eat. We will defeinitely rent from him again. Thanks!!!!!

We spent a wonderful Superbowl weekend in Durango. The condo was spacious and cozy. We were close to the slopes and even used our sled on the hill behind the condo. We come up every year - this was our first time renting a condo rather than staying in Durango and we are completely hooked! Thank you for accomodating us on this fun and relaxing vacation. J&T

Our family came to Durango to celebrate my 50th birthday. We had a wonderful time. The condo was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything we needed as we cooked every meal. It was so nice to be able to stay on the mountain and not have to drive back to town. We would recommend this condo to all. The skiing was fantastic! We had a great experience with this condo.The location was great. You could ski to about 20 feet from the front door, but it was a little bit of a hike to get to the closest lift.(but not to bad} The condo has a great floor plan with plenty of room to stretch out. The view off the patio is spectacular also. The owner, Rich, was very easy to work with, and answered all our questions promptly. We had a great time and would highly reccomend this property.

This condo was perfect for our Christmas family gathering. It was large enough to accomodate our entire family. It was very clean and furnished very nicely. Beautiful views of the mtns off the deck. It was within walking distance to the slopes. The snow was awesome with over 5' of new snow. Rich was really great to work with and answered questions very promptly. We hope to be able to do it again next year.

My Family met in Durango from Arizona and Denver to ride the Polar Express. We had a great time and it accomodated 10 of us very well. 6 adults and 4 kids! The skiing was close by and sledding. We had 36 inches in 3 days and still made it out to do all the things we wanted to do. It was little hard to find at first but once we were there, it was a snap. Great price for the location and very well kept.

We had a wonderful time in mid-August at this condo. It is clean and nicely decorated. The beds are comfy, and the balcony is large with a great view. Plus, the area was beautiful! Very convenient for hiking and mountain biking right out the back door, and sightseeing nearby.

Condo was very clean and was able to accomodate two families (8-people) easily. Living room is big and open with wonderful view of mountains. We were able to ski within 75-yards of the property for lunch. Owner was very prompt with questions. Great experience.
