Location: Lake Cushman, Washington State, USA (2 Hrs from Seattle, 3 Hrs from Portland, 4 Hrs from Vanc. Bc)

Accommodations:  Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Loft, 1 Bath (Sleeps 4-6)

The best kept secret for a vacation is our cabin at Lake Cushman. It's cozy, quaint and rustic. It's also clean, fully-equipped and ready for vacationeers. Lake Cushman is a large, deep, clear freshwater lake in the Olympic Mountains, on the great Olympic Peninsula of Washington State. Simply breath-taking!

My friend's cabin sleeps six (6) comfortably. Three-queen size beds - one in the master bedroom, one in the large loft area, and a sofa bed in the living room. Ideal for a large family or two couples with kids. All linens and bedding are provided.

The kitchen is fully-equipped: Full-size refrigertor, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots and pans, dishware, cook and bakeware, and utensils. There is a kettle BBQ on the deck. Bring paper plates if you don't want to wash dishes. Sorry, no dishwasher. We said it was quaint and rustic :)

Nothing to do?? Not at my friend's cabin!! Lake Cushman is the place for all kinds of fun things:
** Water sports - rent jet skis, go tubing and water skiing
** Fish - both fresh AND salt water fishing here
** Kayak - Open water and rivers all over here
** Hike - less than 5 miles from my friend's cabin's door step are may hiking trails in the Olympic National Park and Forest. Several of the hikinig trails are rated easy and family friendly. (browse OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK on the web)
** A private Lake Cushman Community Park (to which you'll have access) has a large, open cabana area with BBQs, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoe pits, swimming area and playground. Also boat launches with docks for your boat.
** 9 hole Golf Course
That's just around the lake. A few miles east and you can visit the beautiful Hood Canal with it's salt water fishing and activities.

My favorite thing to do at my friend's cabin is to kick back and relax. I can curl up with a book or a knitting project in the living room with the wood stove. I can lounge on the deck and look into the forest, or up at the stars at night. I can take a peaceful walk around the neighborhood and end up at the lake, which is only .25 mile from the cabin.
