Great place to stay for a couple in Paris!

It was our first experience renting apartment for the vacation - will definitely do this again! Wonderful place in the center of the city. You have everything you need for your stay in this apartment and you can walk everywhere (metro is 2 min away if you need it). Full kitchen, new comfortable queen-size bed. Feels like home. Description and photos give you accurate information about the place. Bonus for those coming on early flights to Paris - by 11AM we were already settled in the apartment. No hotel can do this for you. Owners are pleasure to communicate with (both during the rental process and while in Paris). Thank you!

If you want to be near the Latin Quarter, stay here

Date of Stay: 09/02/10 Review Submitted: 10/03/10

My wife and I (seniors from the US) had a fine stay in this apartment for all of Sept. 2010. Of the many vrbo units we’ve rented in the US, Mexico and Europe, this was most helpfully outfitted with maps, guidebooks, umbrellas, reading lamps, fast wi-fi, a washer/dryer, books to read, fans, coffeemakers, vacuum, cleaning supplies and even coffee/sugar/jam. And in perfect English the owner’s gracious daughter thoroughly explained how everything works. Pay attention! (At our last Paris apartment, the woman who met us with the key spoke only Italian!!) The photos are accurate, they show exactly what you’re getting . . a modest but comfortable temporary home. There is a fully functional kitchen, a bath with tub and shower and plenty of hot water, LCD television with lots of channels (about eight in English), a good medium-soft queen bed, and heavy drapes to darken the place at night. There was little noise through the walls. On the down side, rue Mazarine near rue de Buci is an extremely busy neighborhood (including jackhammers this month), much more so than our previous Paris rentals. If you really want to be near the fascinating Latin Quarter, go for it. If you need perfect quiet for sleep, think again. Also, it was worrisome never to get a real receipt for our deposit or a formal rental contract. Having said that, however, I do believe the owner is totally honest. You send your deposit, you will have the apartment. Enjoy.

Great location

My husband and I stayed here in May, 2007. The apartment is in a great location and we love having windows overlooking the street. Small but plenty of room for the two of us, and everything we needed in the kitchen. At the time we stayed, the bed was a bit uncomfortable, but perhaps they've replaced the mattress by now. Lots of great little restaurants and sidewalk cafes, grocery store, take-out restaurants, etc. Close to the river, the Orsay, etc. You can't find a better location!

Outstanding location and a great base to explore Paris!

Guest: Saravin (Australia)
Date of Stay: 07/10/09 Review Submitted: 06/30/10

We had a 7 night stay at the apartment in June 2009 and were overall very pleased with the apartment for the rate. Whilst it does appear larger in the photos, there is more that enough space (including cupboard space) for 2 people and certianly much larger that a Paris hotel! The kitchen was well equipped and included everything we needed for breakfast, basic meals and picnics. We personally found the bed too hard (we prefer a very soft bed) and the size of the toilet is very small. Our only other concern is that it took a while to receive confirmation of our payment and reservation. Otherwise everything else was very comfortable and it felt rather homely. The owner's son was absolutely delighful and provided valuable local insights into the area. The location was absolutely outstanding and an excellent base from which to explore Paris. There were also many great restaurants, cafes and bakeries in the immediate area filled with locals. Thank you Franziska and Adrian!

An excellent starting point to visit Paris

Guest: WKCanada (Canada)
Date of Stay: 05/15/10 Review Submitted: 05/29/10

We (myself and my wife) just returned from an 8 night stay at Rue Mazarine VI and were very pleased. Although the apartment seems bigger by the pictures, and the toilet room off the living room is quite small, the rest of the apartment was well laid out with plenty of room for two people. No comparison with downtown Parisian hotel rooms! The location could not have been better and was perfect for constant sightseeing, shopping or just taking in this wonderful city. The local area was bustling all day, but got conveniently quiet when we finally needed to get to sleep. Great stay! Close to everything! Would do it again!

Great location!

I have mixed feelings about the place. The pictures on the site were not quite representative of the apartment. However, It is quite comfortable and it served our needs well. The tumble wsher dryer worked well as did the coffee maker and toaster. One aspect of the layout that I did not like, was the toilet was not attached to the bathing area. It was in the living room and felt like a closet. The bed was very comfortable. The tub was fine, but there was not a functioning shower, You had to sit in the tub and do a hand held. The owner's daughter was delightful and was very informative and helpful. All in all a good stay, but it is not glamorous and is rather homey, but that is not bad for beautiful Paris. BTW, the price is great for the location. It is close to EVERYTHING.
