Sweet, cozy and clean Sunset Hill Cottage is perfect for your visit to Seattle.
The cottage is clean and light-filled with plenty of space to put your things away and relax. We provide all linens and towels, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need including a microwave, coffee maker, toaster, pots, pans, dishes, glassware along with a basic supply of spices and oils. BBQ and patio table are available for outdoor dining on large upper deck, and the indoor dining table easily seats 8.
The house has a newly remodeled bath, the master bedroom has a queen sized bed, and the second bedroom has a bunk bed with a full-sized lower bunk, and a twin upper as well as a chaise which may be converted to a child's bed. Toys and games are available for the entertainment of old and young alike, including Chinese checkers, chess, playing cards, craft paper, pens and scissors. House has WIFI, cable and a TV, as well as a washer and dryer (washing detergent supplied) so you can pack light!
The Sunset Hill Cottage is situated just 1/2 block away from the wonderfully sweet sunset hill commercial district on the corner of 65th and 32nd-- sporting Picolino's Italian restaurant, Sunset Hill Green grocer, The Scoop at Walters Ice cream shop and cafe, and Rain City Video; since the cottage has a driveway- parking is never an issue! The cottage is only a short walk through the secret tunnel to Paseo Caribbean takeout, Rays Boathouse Restaurant and the Secret Beach in one direction, and 24th Ave's cafes and restaurants in the other. Golden gardens beach, the Ballard Locks, and Old Ballard are also within walking distance, as are many playgrounds.
The 61 and 17 bus stops going to Ballard and downtown are on the corner; these connect to the rapid ride D to downtown which runs every 10 minutes.
This house sits in the heart of sunset hill in ballard, within walking distance to old ballard, sunset hill park, golden gardens, the locks, etc. We might be partial, but this is the most wonderful part of Seattle, close to everything, but in the heart of a true neighborhood. ...moreless

About the owner: Xylon and I (Babette) both moved here to attend the University of Washington 20+ years ago, and were trapped by the charms of Seattle. We are now firmly rooted here with our two young children who attend the neighborhood school.
Xylon runs a simulator based flight school in downtown Ballard, and I work as a research scientist at Seattle Children's Hospital.
Why the Owner Chose Ballard: We love the sunset hill neighborhood. We moved here in 2009 and are still discovering the joys of living in this beautiful corner of Seattle. We live just down the street from the rental (where my mom lives 1/2 of the year when she is not in Germany), and frequent the Sunset Hill Green Market (we call it our auxiliary pantry), Walt's for some ice cream if the kids need a pick me up on the way home from school, and enjoy the amazing selection at Rain City Video on the corner. As a family, we LOVE that we can bike to school and work (even downtown!), and that chickens, vegetables, flowers, dogs and children abound here.
