Spent a week in the fall at the cottage, and will definitely be back. Not a fancy place, but clean & nice - that's what I was looking for and appreciate. I'm a single woman traveling solo, and felt safe - Craig gave me some tips that helped me get into the island swing. Had a great week and how comfortable the cottage was was a big part of that.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This cottage is more of a shack. There are no amenities - we had to borrow matches from the neighbor. The kitchen is not at all well equipped-when we arrived there were no towels or clean sheets. There is no air conditioning (we had to buy a fan) and no NESN to watch the Red Sox! The furniture is worn and not at all comfortable. The front porch is moldy and needs painting. The biggest problem is the driveway-it is truly dangerous to try and back out on to this busy road, and the owners never told us about it. It is also important to note that the owners sometime sleep in a kind of bunkhouse attached to the the property. All in all, this type of rental does a disservice to the other rental properties in Nantucket. Although the property came with a grill, there was no charcoal. Very disappointing experience!Owner response: Wow - I wish Susan had read the listing more carefully prior to booking. While her review is needlessly nasty and inaccurate, Susan does raise a couple good points about the property - off street parking on Nantucket is a hot commodity, and the off street parking space that comes with the cottage does require the ability to navigate into a small drive. My husband has an art studio on the property and is occasionally there during the season - I'm going to add that to our listing. We offer our cottage as a simple, old-Nantucket style spot, an easy walk to town, and price it among the v lowest cottages on the island. As you can see from our other reviews, while it is a simple spot, we aim to pleasantly surprise our guests with a comfortable and convenient spot from which to enjoy the beach and Nantucket town. We don't have a fancy TV with cable channels for every taste, but there is a basic TV with a few movies, books for beach reading and games. Our perfect match is a budget-minded single or couple looking for a clean simple alternative to a guesthouse or hotel, and until now we've had all happy guests, many of whom have become friends that return year after year. I'm sorry Susan was unhappy and wish her the best in her travels.

We rented this cottage not knowing what to expect, and left after a week with memories we will never forget. If you are looking for a quiet, romantic get away than this place is perfect. Cottage is very clean inside and well maintained. Close to downtown shopping on island. Would stay here again without any hesitation. Place was perfect. Thank you Craig and Annie!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2000
About the owner: Annie is a nutritionist, yoga teacher, gardener, cook and writer. Craig has a business on-island restoring fine art (mostly oil paintings). We lived on-island full time until 2009, when Annie took a job as a Sr Nutritionist at the Kripalu Center in Stockbridge, MA. So, it's off to Western MA for us for a while though we are maintaining our primary residence here on island - we'll be back! Craig still spends most of the summer months on Nantucket.
Why the Owner Chose Nantucket Town:
Craig has lived on Nantucket for over 30 years, is a surfer and waterman. He also loves to create beautiful environments.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Nantucket is heartachingly beautiful, particular if you get out of town and onto the land. We love to wander into town from the cottage - there are many lovely routes in.
