I can't begin to say how much my wife and I enjoyed our stay in this spacious, comfortable and affordable corner unit at the Hawaiian Princess. Our dealings with Gail were straight forward and easy. Val, the housekeeper, was very gracious in greeting us to show us around and was also helpful on our departure. The corner unit provided wonderful views not only of the beach and ocean, but also in the opposite direction up the beautiful Makaha Valley. We could enjoy both sunrise an sunset from the lanai. We were also fortunate to have a full moon to enjoy during our stay I highly recommend this unit for a most quiet, comfortable and relaxing get-away.

Beautiful Paradise in Hawaii

We were welcomed by Val into this breath taking condo corner suite. Paradise for sure, beautiful, spectacular views from both decks. Enjoyed Breakfasts and dining on the lanai. Comfy chairs, excellent views and entertainment, watching and listening to the waves, and watching people enjoy with their families. Toured many places on the Island, and it was always so comfortable to come back to Makaha HP for the peace and beauty of the surroundings. and also the VERA WANG BED, such peaceful, comfortable sleeps. We love Makaha and will be back at some time. Thank you for the privilege of renting your condo. We loved it!!!

Paradise in Hawaii

Just got back from 10 days in Gails beautiful condo. We vacation several times per year and have done so for a number of years. We normally stay at the all inclusive resorts and thought we would take a chance and try something different this time. It turned out to be an excellent decision and the most relaxing vacation we have been on so far. The condo is absolutely perfect with all of the comforts of home. The bed is very comfortable. The condo has an iron gate which provides access to your private wrap around balcony and condo. This means you can leave windows and patios doors open all day and night ( with screens closed) and enjoy the warm ocean breezes and relaxing sounds of the waves outside your door. The beach is gorgeous and uncrowded. The best we have seen so far. The pool area is clean and comfortable with plenty of chairs unlike many resorts. Upon check in Val was there to great us and she was just excellent and very friendly. This unit is truly a home away from home and upon entering and opening the doors to your private lanai, I'm sure you too will feel like you have arrived in paradise. We truly felt spoiled to be in Gails large corner unit. The Hawaiian Princess is much nicer than the condo next door and Gails large corner unit is definately the place to rent at the Hawaiian Princess. We will be back.

All the reviews are very accurate for this condo. We stayed for 16 days over Christmas and New Years and found everything to be very comfortable and the unit well stocked with various supplies. Owners are easy to deal with and building and condo very clean and secure. You cannot get any closer to such an excellent beach that you can consider private as there are never any crowds there. We had a great time watching the whales and our last days the locals surfing. I would recommend staying here rather than in a hotel for any extended period. It is about 40 minutes out of Honolulu, not a big deal if you rent a vehicle. Thanks for everything, we would go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our vacation at this upscale condo on a beautiful, uncrowded beach. We had excellent ocean/beach/valley views from our corner unit. Totally enjoyed the gorgeous sunsets right in front of our lanai each night. The photos shown are right on. Saw numerous sea turtles; loved the ever-changing shades of blue water - awesome! The condo offered every convenience for us: fully equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable bed; super living/dining room furnishings; great lanai complete with all kinds of beach toys for us to use! The owner was great: prompt, informative and very helpful. Extra touch - the housekeeper personally welcomed us at check-in and returned the morning we checked out to bid us farewell. Had a wonderful time and would highly recommend this condo for those seeking a great beach experience in a beautiful setting without the crowds.

We stayed 10 Nights and enjoyed every minute, from start to reluctant end. The condo has everything you need and more, all first class. The building and condo are very secure. If you are after a quiet, peaceful, relaxing stay, you could not ask for a more beautiful location. I could just sit with a glass of wine and watch the surf and long white sandy beach for hours. The 4th floor is just right, you get a good view and still feel like you are part of the beach.Good snorkling right in front of the building. Take some binoculars you can see Dolphins, Turltles & watch the surfers. Dealing with the owner was a pleasure. We would strongly recommend this condo to anyone, it was as advertised.

We just spent 10 days at this condo in Makaha. We had a great time, enjoying the views, hearing the ocean waves and just relaxing. The condo was clean. It was well stocked with plenty of pillows, blankets, beach toys, chairs, mats, snorkel gear, etc. The kitchen was well stocked as well, with all you need to make a nice breakfast to enjoy on the Lainai, BBQ downstairs, etc. The iced cups were a nice touch! We would stay here again as well as refer our friends for a stay here. Thanks again for the use of your wonderful home!

Beautiful apartment

Aloha, This corner apartment is the best! The view from 2 sliding glass doors on both sides of the apartment is fabulous. We enjoyed the king size bed, walk in shower, and all the conveniences of home. This apartment has 2 new big flat screen TVs and a variety of DVDs to watch, if you don't like the water.... but who can resist the beautiful white sand beach and crystal clear water right outside the building and only a few feet away. We have been to this apartment 4 times now and will return again. Love our time there.

Aloha, My wife and I with our two teenage boys had a great time on Oahu. Staying at Gail's place provided the perfect base for our travels around the island, although having a vehicle is a must. We visited the Dole Plantation and the North Shore, Sharks Cove with it's amazing snorkelling, Honolulu and Waikiki for the people and nightlife, the East coast and Diamond Head with all the beautiful beaches and hiking, the amazing experience of the Polynesian Cutural Center, the deals at Aloha Stadium marketplace and many other places with sunbathing, surfing, paddleboarding, boogieboarding and swimming with the fish and turtles on our own "Turtle Beach" in between. The Tamura Superette provided our groceries when we needed a snack or drinks to pack the cooler. The amenities at the condo provided everything else we required, from the use of a cooler to quickly washing some shorts or a T-shirt. The wrap-around lanai, views of the beach and sunsets from the 4th floor and access via elevator or a quick trip up the stairs was all great. The private pool and access to a fresh water shower near the gate was refreshing. The secure parking and access to the building using the fobs and our "Turtle gated" deck made it easy to leave all the screened patio doors open to enjoy the breeze and surf sounds all night long. We would definitely recommend Gail's Condo to other travellers. Mahalo M,S,J & D.

Thanks to great layout, this condo provides a party of four fits just right. On top of that, all the equipment in the apartament from TVs to pizza cutters (plus some snacks left) leaves the renters with pretty much no worries about stuff that they may need. Another features worth noticing are great sight on the ocean, beautiful sandy beach and friendly staff. To sum up, such condo is a great place to relax and stay. Mahalo, Gail !

we had the best time! our first visit to Hawaii. While on Oahu we stayed in Gail's condo. It was just like home. very user friendly and was surprised at how well stocked with condiments, dishes, microwave, dishwanser, washer/dryer. all was in perfect working order. My boys slept on the sleeper sofa, with an airbed! so comfy. Quite a lot of room actually. the view was Dreamlike! perfect being right on the beach. I had coffee on the Lanai every morning, so peaceful. we all slept like rocks with the ocean waves rocking us to sleep each night. the drive into Honolulu was very easy, especially if you timed it right. The notes from Gail prior to arrival were awesome, we used some of the tips and picks on shopping and dining. Terry who cked us in was great. went over everything and showed us all. the property was very well kept and secure.

We were SO impressed when we saw this condo we didn't want to leave to see the rest of the island. Terry was there to meet and greet us upon arrival and was very accommodating to our schedule. The corner unit defies description! The balcony and iron gate entrance is simply AWE-some. The unit is spacious and impressively furnished. The setting of the condo is amazing. It is like having one of the most beautiful locations on the island all to yourself. We enjoyed our stay at your place so much. It was comfortable, beautiful and lent itself to a very relaxing vacation.

Words don't do justice for describing our vacation. Considerate and accommodating staff, beautiful view, well appointed condo,excellent valve for the fabulous site, all needs and wants met. Lovely beach, most pleasant atmosphere, secure parking and 24 hour security creates a worry free environment. What more could vacationers ask for ? We had a bonus, Eddie & Gail were on site, so we had excellent service. Gail was kind enough to recommend Sandy get a pedicure, Gail recommended a local pedicurist which Sandy enjoyed. We met some fine people had a hoot of a time visiting. Our stay in Paradise went by far too quickly. We will certainly return to the Hawaiian Princess and certainly will reference Eddy & Gail to friends and relatives

This place can be summed up in one word. Unbelievable. The condo was perfect in everyway. Good security, great views, your own beach and the list goes on. We saw whales everyday from our lanai. Can't thank Gail and Ed enough. They are two wonderful people. Too bad there's not more of them in this world. They were a real pleasure to work with both before and durning our trip. They made our stay so much more enjoyable. Gail took time out of her busy day to walk my wife and I to another beach to see the turtles. Once your there, you don't want to leave. Two weeks was not enough. The HP is truly paradise.

I was very fortunate to stay in this beautiful place. From the moment I arrived I was overwhelmed with the beauty of the condo unit & it's location. The condo itself was so inviting with the tasteful decor & the bright open concept kitchen, tied in with the dining & living rooms. - equally inviting. The large flat screen TV, quiet washer, dryer, gave all the personal touches one would have in their own home and were a signifagant step up from any major chain hotel. How can I say anything more that this is the perfect vacation condo. The kitchen really got a workout and everything we needed was there including the staples. Beautiful beach, wonderful sunsets. Enjoyed shopping at the local grocery store but did make one trip to Costco. We will be back next year.

Our stay in Makaha was at the end of a cruise that began in Vancouver and included six stops on four islands and ended in Honolulu. After disembarking from our ship we drove to the condo. It seemed to take less than an hour from the center of the city. During our stay on Oahu we visited the Polynesian center on the north side of the island, Waikiki Beach and the WWII sites. The rest of our time was spent at the condo. It was a great place with all the amenities needed to enjoy the hawaiian shore. It was tastefully decorated and overlooking the beach allowing you to hear the waves and feel the ocean breezes. It has a wonderful lanai that wraps around that wraps around the side as described allowing you to have great views as you sit out there anytime day or night. The sun sets directly in front of you. The bedroom has an incredible kingsize bed with a supersoft mattress and pillows. We also never had to use the air conditioner. The pool was a great place to socialize. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly housekeeper who was both helpful and informative as were the other staff at the complex. Overall it was a great experience. We hope to stay there again in the future prior to a south seas cruise that will begin in honalulu.

Makaha in October

We just returned for seven beautiful nights in Gails Makaha H.P. Condo; condo has anything and everything you want/need. The decor of the condo is just as shown in the pictures, we were very comfortable and the view was the best ever. My husband, son and I looked forward to sunsets every night. Ocean was perfect for swimming, boogie boarding, paddle surfing. We also loved being able to BBQ our dinner on the community gas grills. Everything was very clean and Gail was great to work with.

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE TO STAY IF YOU WANT BEACH, WAVES, TURTLES & WE EVEN SAW DOLPHINS. CLEAN CONDO, GREAT LANAI & UNREAL SUNSETS. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK! THANK YOU GAIL!! Mahlo Gail for sharing your home- condo with us it was everything I hoped it would be. I am glad that we did not stay in the tourist trap like waikiki, to many people and the beaches are to crowded. A couple of reconmendations for your future guests. If you like to snorkle the best place I found in Gail's cove is out by the rocks east of the condo, the best time to swim and film turtles was between 1 & 5 pm. Any time I went I saw 1 to 3 turtles. If you are thinking about snorking Hanauma bay do yourself a favor and drive to the north shore and snorkle sharks cove much better and no one is there. Diamond head is a must do what a great view from there. The only other suggestion I have is stay for at least 10 to 14 days, 7 is not enough. Mahalo again Gail we will be back soon!

As first timers to the condo rental option, this was a dream! Amazing views including a lovely, quiet beach. The condo is very private giving you a sense of safety as well as peace and quiet. The listing and photos were just as described. Gail was terrific to work with. Debi met us with the key and walked us through the condo. Loved chatting with her and finding out she grew up in SoCal! Wonderful stay! Beautfiul sunsets on the balcony. Beach was so close...great accessibility! Master bedroom was very comfortable.....Shower was fabulous! Corner unit is so spacious! Kitchen was stocked with spices and staples....so nice to have that.....Washer and dryer have inspired me to replace mine at home. A PERFECT PLACE TO RELAX: FAB. APT, EXC. SNORKELLING

My husband and I had a lovely stay in Gail's condo June 4 to the 11th. This is definitely a great time for snorkeling on the west coast of Oahu, since most of the time the water was calm and very, very clean. No jellyfish, no seaweed, no algae. We saw many green turtles, an enormous black/grey spotted eagle ray, lots of trigger fish, and the biggest trumpet fish we've ever encountered. The water was also a nice temperature. We could stay in for an hour just with a thin dive skin. There was no need to swim anyplace else except right in front of the Hawaiian Princess in the beautiful protected cove. As far as Gail's condo, it was well designed, supplied and equipped. Plus, the cross ventilation made the air conditioning unnecessary in June. We loved the sunsets from the lanai, as well as the views of the mountains and Pacific at all times of the day. A perfect place to relax...highly recommended! -Jo Ann, San Francisco, CA

Mahalo ! Our families' 1st visit to the South Pacific we are so pleased we chose Oahu and ' Gail's Place" we loved the sound of the surf 24 hours a day at the water front condo. The corner unit was great as we enjoyed the views from both sides. Every meal that we had at ' home ' was on the lanai it is beautiful. Having use of the BBQ's was great. The condo has everything you need to be at home. Our 3 teenagers said that this beach was the best one in all of Oahu for enjoying the water and castle making. It was super clean and not crowded. I enjoyed early morning walks on the beach while the others slept a little longer. The condo was comfortable and clean. We liked the secure building and using the fobs was fun. the surrounding community had many amenities that we enjoyed, church, BBQ Kai, gas and Longs drug and Sack & Save. We rented a vehicle and brought a GPS with us from home. THe GPS was a must as we saw the whole island with out paper maps. We did lots in our 8 day stay including 2 trips on a catamaran on the North Shore. you can google sailingcat to find them. We would definitely go back to sea with Captain Don and 1st Mate Ryan such a worth while trip. We were very close to dolphins as we sailed to our snorkel location where we saw beautiful reef fish and swam with turtles around us. Don and his crew treated us like royalty with great food and very friendly hospitality. Dole pineapple plantation has incredible ice cream and the teens enjoyed the maze while Mom and Dad enjoyed the gardens. Nice jewellery there too. The Shrimp shack in Kaaawa at Ching's store in Punalu'u on the Windward side is worth the trip. Incredible hospitality and the food amazing. As well you get to see rainforest and can stop at fruit stands and beach parks. Mahalo Gail, we feel like family now... we bought 2 float boards and one snorkel/goggle set which we left behind on the lanai with the other beach toys. A perfect holiday!!! Michelle

xmas and new years 2009 (with 2 teenagers)-the best place to stay on oahu is in makaha. the weather is drier, much less tourists, and it's still central to everything. the best place in makaha is definitely the hawaiin princess. it's gated, small, with loads of repeat visitors from canada and the usa. gail's condo is on the 4th floor facing the ocean (and sunsets). every nite we left the doors open on both sides (corner unit) and slept to the sound of the surf. gail has everything you need, including beach chairs and boogie boards. did I mention the beach is private with only about 10-20 people on it. and then there's a pool as well. internet was available for our teens (and us, when we were checking out where to go the next day. Ko Olina resort is close by, with 4 man-made bays for calm snorkeling. outlet mall, flea market and costco, were all easily accesible. gail was very helpful and caring (even calling an hour before we left to help with car rental details.) definitely a place I would recommend to family and friends

Our ten day stay in Gail's condo was truly a wonderful paradise. The beach was beautiful and relaxing and the view was unbeatable. The staff at HP were always warm, friendly and made you feel most welcome. The lanai was terrific and it is where we spent most of our time.... just looking out at the ocean right up until the sun went down. The weather on this side of the island is dryer and less windy apparently, so we were glad we chose this location. The condo is very spacious and although there were only two of us this time, we plan on returning with our two teenagers as there is plenty of room and they would absolutely love the beach and great waves right outside the door. Thanks Gail we loved the view the condo offers & the best is that it has a lot of space being a corner unit. We loved the beach and we were pleased with the Tamura Market and what it had to offer and that it was only a short drive to get there. The weather was fantastic. Of all the beaches that we saw travelling around the Island this would be our pick. Again thank you I know we will return.

Your Makaha condo is quite lovely. The views are breathtaking, kitchen was well equipped, location was quiet. Furnishings were comfortable and more than adequate for five of us and all were comfortable. The wrap around lanai was amazing accommodating both the valley and ocean views. Having a representative to meet us and review everything was very nice and allowed for an easy transition in and out of your condo. Mahalo for sharing your home with us. The location, accommodations, view, and privacy of Gail's condo are the best. We were married on the beach out front of the HP on this trip and it was a time and place we will always remember. I highly recommend a stay and Deb was most helpful upon checkin. We hope to return and stay here again.

This was our very first trip to Oahu for Suzanne and I. After a lot choices to either stay near Waikiki or away, we chose Gail's condo for 10 days. We had a car rental and decided the drive to our destinations would be perfectly fine and it was the best decision as hoped. Upon arriving at the HP 408, we were warmly greeted by a wonderful woman, Debi. She handels the greeting and gives you a tour/info about the unit. The first thing in our view was this incredible seascape and beach! The condo was our piece of heaven for the next 10 days and nights. It was our heavenly basecamp for all of what Oahu had to offer. We enjoyed the local eats and visited them frequently. Our favorite place for hawaiian grub was Hannara's. On our 9th day Suzanne and I hiked to the top of Diamondhead. A bit camera shy, she grudgingly accepted a stranger to video tape us together. I then went down to bended knee, and proposed my love and engagement ring to her. The people around us clapped and cheered. She finally caught on to my desire for us to climb that mountain in 91 degree heat and said, YES! The climb down was much more fun and we were treated to a shave ice with congratulations from the vendor. Thank you Gail...and Debi.

Great unit, terrific view. It has everything you will need so don't pack the little extras, they are already here. The inflatable fold out bed got 2 thumbs up from my teen age daughter. Best bed she has ever slept on. Great washer and dryer so pack lite and just wash your clothes. That leaves you more room in your suitcase for shopping. Safeway, Costco, Target are 15 miles away (exit 1B) but the Tamura store has everything and is only 2 miles away. Factory outlet mall is exit 7 and WalMart is exit 5. Enjoy the beach, always lots of turtles. Walk out to the point and watch the surf. Internet service is fast and in the room. Just plug in the dsl cable provided. Go for a drive completely around the island. Only about 4 hours. Go climb Diamond Head and enjoy the view. If I could climb the trail anyone can. The view from the top was fantastic. Get a shaved ice when you get back down and recover. The longest drive besides going around the island was 45 minutes to Diamond Head. The airport,Pearl Harbor,and most shopping was right around 30-35 minutes. Leave at 9AM and there isn't any rush hour. Take the bus right to Ala Mona mall if you want and skip the drive. All in all this is a great unit and I would highly recommend it.

Aloha Gail, We had a wonderful week in your apartment at the HP. It was even better than the week we spent there a few years ago. We love the new bathroom with the big shower, and the cool, clean tile floors. Big improvement over carpeting. And, I was very impressed with the new high tech clothes washer and dryer. Very NICE! The view from the Lani is still breathtaking. It's the best 190+ degree view of the beach and ocean. We love your place and plan on returning again for another week in a year or two. Mahalo for renting to us again. We enjoy the quiet beach and local restaurants in Makaha. The golf is reasonable and not as crowded as the courses on Maui. Just a quick note to thank you Gail for the wonderful time we had in Makaha. It was my parent's first time in Hawaii and it could not have been more suitable for us all. This corner unit was very nice, especially the views of both the beach and the mountains. We enjoyed using the great beach chairs and umbrellas. The kitchen was great and it was easy to use everything in it for cooking. The grill downstairs worked great! We really enjoyed the locked gate, which enabled us to leave windows open all night long and sleep with the sound of the waves and the breezes blowing through the condo. Thanks for being so easy to work with. We had a great vacation.

We have recently returned from our weeklong vacation at the Princess. Gail's condo has got to be the best in the building. There was so much space for our party of 4 and the views from the lanai were priceless. This is an unbeatable value on easily the best beach on Oahu. Everything you could possibly need for cooking or a day at the beach was there, even the very quiet washer and drier. I would recommend this place to everybody and definitely be back myself. We enjoyed the most amazing two week holiday at the Hawaiian Princess. THe facility as extremely clean and secure. The entire staff were very friendly and helpful. THe cond itself was wonderful. It was furnished with everything you needed from the kitchen to the laundry facility. Because of the laundry facility you can pack extremely light. The boogie boards and snorkel gear were great and we enjoyed our days on the beach from 8a.m. to 6p.m. The view was breath taking. The front of the lanai was remarkable for the beautiful beach and sunsets and the side view was amazing for the sun rises and the mountains We enjoyed the fishing, snorkeling, walking the beach,surfing the waves, swimming with the turtles,talking to the local artists and building sand castles. We have already planned to return again and have given out the web site to at least five friends. We would like to say a special thank you to Gail and Eddy for opening up their condo to us so we had an opportunity to experience this wonderful holiday in Hawaii. THank you Deborah and family

We enjoyed our 2 week stay in this great apt very much. The Hawaiian Princess is in an excellent safe quiet location. Being an end unit with the wrap around lanai gives you both the Pacific Ocean with the bonus of the valley mountain view. The value, rate, and the additional reflective mirrored walls made this apt view outstanding; an A + . We enjoyed the convenience of the few restaurants close by and the shopping at the near by supermarket. We highly recommend this big beautiful corner unit. Can't wait to come back.
