About the owner: I am a retired dentist and my wife is a Realtor. We left Atlanta and moved to the Tampa Bay area in 2001. Glenda worked for a Fortune 50 company for 20 years before starting her own Marketing company. When she sold the company and we moved to Fla I was able to continue practicing dentistry. I joined the practice of an Emory Dental school classmate who had set up in this area after we graduated. I re-retired in 2008 and became bored. My wife was a realtor so I went to class and got my Fla real estate license. We love the beach and Gulf of Mexico and have become sales specialists in waterfront property.
Our home is 10 minutes from this condo. We are on the Intracoastal waterway with our boat on a lift in the back yard. I can be in big water in less than 15 minutes right out John's Pass. That is why we don't live in the Pier House quite yet. Hard to give up what we already have. We really do plan on moving into this particular condo when we really RETIRE....whenever that is!!!
Why the Owner Chose Pier House: When we bought this condo we had a check list of 'must have' features. Some of those criterea could be sacrificed but not the need to have the master bedroom open onto the beach. There is nothing better than falling asleep to the sound of the waves....except for waking up to the same sounds.
The unique design of this building gives our end unit sliding doors and decks on the North side as well as the West side(the one facing the beach). This is by far the brightest, most open 1500 square foot condominiums I have seen in this area. We feel if you are at the beach you should be able to have a view of the sand from every room. Well, we do.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo: This unit is on the 4th floor of a 5 story building. The unit above ours is 200 square feet larger. As such it provides with an overhang on the balcony. This was an unexpected bonus and provides protection from the occasional rain shower.
We own 2 assigned parking spaces, one under the building and the other just outside the North elevator. Close to the covered parking space is a beach locker where we provide beach chairs and umbrellas.
