I often travel to work in San Francisco from So. Calif., and when I can I stay at this cottage. The cottage has it all, a fully functional kitchen, large sitting area with a writing desk, TV, eating table for 4, couch, bathroom, perfect closet for a weeks stay and cool views of the bay! I come and go as I please and walking into town is quite easy. It is also very convenient to take the ferries in the AM and PM when I work in SF's downtown financial district.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at this cottage for 3 days and loved it. Beautiful view from the porch and walking distance to the town of Sausalito. The cottage was comfortable, and our 4 year old loved the toys and the 3 dogs that would come to visit from the main house. We plan to come back.

Our family of four stayed here for a week. The cottage was perfect as a base to explore San Franciso and Marin county. While it was easy to get to the ferry, we ended up driving everywhere - there was no traffic to speak of on the Golden Gate bridge, and parking everywhere was easy. Then, it was so nice to return home again to this lovely cottage. As others have said, the beds are comfortable, the setting lovely, the views from the garden and kitchen spectacular. I must add, too, that we are not dog people, but the owner's dogs are really nice - don't let the dog comments keep you away! :)

Recommended for:Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We had the pleasure of renting this beautiful cottage during the latter part of September. We were so glad that we did! The location is perfect and the physical setting at the bottom of a hillside garden is pure magic! An easy walk (downhill) puts you at the Sausalito-San Francisco ferries, and the stroll through the town of Sausalito and the neighbourhood's surrounds is worth the effort. And if you are a dog lover, the Sausalito cottage has a much-welcomed extra 'bonus'. The Bay Area is a magical, special place: and cottage perched on the side of a Sausalito hillslope enhances those qualities considerably. Do yourself a favour and book yourself in to this truly unique accomodation! We're glad we did, and we will do so in future.

A wonderful, cozy spot. We were here over Xmas Holiday and was perfect for enjoying both Marin and San Francisco. Owners are very gracious and friendly...and so are their fun dogs!

We the Kabbalaoui family had a wonderful time in this beautiful cottage, during our ten day stay in August 2006 it was peaceful, relaxing and enjoyed the incredible views. The owners are wonderful people, we strongly recommend this cottage to any vacationer who respect above values and character.

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage was well equipped with anything we needed. The setting is beautiful and a perfect area to run in if you like hills! The owners, Jackie and Barry are warm and welcoming people. We highly recommend this rental!

We had a great time at the cottage. The location to town was perfect for a nice walk to coffee or dinner. The most comfortable bed (other that ours) we have ever slept on and the most beautiful landscaping made it hard to leave. It is a perfect place to get away and enjoy the Bay!

We loved our stay in the cottage. The lush landscaping from our living room windows was beautiful. The short walks to restaurants, downtown shops, and ferry to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco allowed us not only to see the sights, but also to get good exercise! The owners were gracious and very accommodating. We highly recommend it. We'd love to go back.
