My family and I recently stayed at Alta Vista and had a fabulous time! There were about 25 of us renting houses at Cape San Blas, and while this particular house is not big enough to sleep ALL of those people, it was definitely a comfortable house to host all of them for a dinner and party. The only downside with the house is that it is set up sort of like a duplex. I think it may have been a duplex at some time until they added on the second story. The only way to get from one side of the house to the other is either to go through the upstairs bedroom or outside through the porch. Other than that, everything was wonderful! Two kitchens, 3 living spaces, seven bedrooms, perfect for many kids in the "bunk room", and perfect for many people especially for family reunions! Right on the beach, the perfect white sand beaches of the Florida Gulf Coast.
Owner response:Dear EJ, Thank you for your kind comments. The house was a duplex and we opened it up via the upstairs living area/bedroom and also the outside porch. We have found that multiple families of various ages enjoy the ability to have separate places to relax versus one big family room. Most people spend the majority of their time on the beach together and enjoy a semi private hour or so in the morning or before dinner watching a television show, playing a game/puzzle, reading or checking emails which you can do in your bedroom or in one of the 3 living spaces or 3 deck living areas. Everyone enjoys the shuffleboard court. There are several houses within walking distance of Alta Vista which can accommodate overflow. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you will return to the Cape and hopefully to Alta Vista. It is a wonderful place to make memories.

My Husband and I stayed last December for a 5 night stay. I truly think this was one of our best vacations. The home is very spacious with a fantastic view of the Gulf. We enjoyed shelling on the beach, bonfires at night, shuffel boarding in the afternoon and just relaxing and listening to the waves. We also enjoyed the State Park just a short drive away. Sometimes the simplest things are the best things, like sitting on the swing on the huge deck over looking the water and listening to the birds. The pictures certainly do not do justice. This is a great vacation home to get away from all of our busy schedules and take time with our families.
