Our charming log home is located in the center of Black Butte Ranch near the South Meadow Pool. We are nestled in the back of a cul-de-sac away from traffic and very close to the meadow bike path. Our home is furnished with antiques along with the bear skin on the wall. We have just remodeled and have not gotten the new pictures taken for the website.
We have a new roof, new decks, new driveway, new carpet and freshly painted. Being a gourmet cook, we have everything that you would need to provide that sumptuous dinner after a day of skiing or hiking. Our bunk room has a double bed, 2 twins, one set of bunkbeds, and a crib.
We have a small family room that has game table and reading area. The master is on the main with a queen bed and full bath. A third bedroom upstairs has a queen bed. Our home sleeps alot, but we limit the size of the party.
Black Butte Ranch was developed in the 1960's and provides a safe a secure area for your family to venture out on their own. We are a gated community and have two 18 hole golf courses, four large pools, miles and miles of bike paths. It is a working ranch with cattle and horses. Horseback riding is available either individual or by group. Tennis courts are located throughout the ranch in multiple locations. Bike, tennis, golf and ski rentals are available at the lodge.
We have a beautiful lodge that looks out on a lake and multiple mountains. Fine dining is available at the lodge, pool side dining, and a grill at the Pro shop. For the avid fly fisherman, our lake is stocked annually. We also have canoes and kayak available for rental. We are located 20 minutes from Hoo Doo ski resort and 30 minutes from Bend for which Mount Bachelor is located close by.

We are a family of 6 and have loved Black Butte Ranch for 20 years. Our family has many wonderful memories here. We have found much peace in the tranquility of the ranch and able to leave the stress of work and life behind.
Why the Owner Chose Black Butte Ranch
We chose to buy on the ranch, for we wanted a home that we could enjoy all 4 seasons. We are avid bikers, skiers, fisherman, and hikers. We also wanted a short drive from Portland so that we could enjoy on the weekends. Our home has everything that you need away from your own home.
The Unique Benefits of this House
What makes our home unique is that it is a true log home and there are very few on the ranch. We have a covered front porch that can be used during all seasons for the lighting is great to play cards at night and enjoy meals even during the winter time.

The quilters of Eugene loved staying at your home. We had 7 quilters and we loved that you use your families quilts throughout the house. Thank you also for having all the spices and cooking utensils. The weather was not great, but we enjoyed reading your great selection of books. After a 4 hour walk , we loved the hot tub and chance to catch up with girl friends. Thank you for letting us rent your house

I spent a wonderful two weeks at BlackButte in the Marshalls home. What an experience. I had a family reunion and I was able to sit on their covered front porch for hours and watch all the grandchildren play in the cul-de-sac with their bicycles, three wheelers, and play baseball for hours. It was a 5 minute walk to the swimming pool and all the life guards were so nice. The Marshalls are so nice that they leave their fully equipped house with spices, condiments, etcs. We had most of our dinners at the house their house for they have lots of tables and seating areas and all of their neighbors are very nice people. The home was so very clean and the housekeeper is nice and touched in with us frequently. I must have called the Marshall's a million times about questions before we rented and they were nice each time. They had free wi-fi for all my son in laws and that kept them happy. This was a trip of a life time and I just booked for two weels for next summer. Thank you Marshall's for loaning us your charming beautiful home. We loved all the antiques and home made quilts and blankets. See you this summer. The home is such a romantic home, that my husband and I are going to use it for anniversary trip, that way we play golf, tennis, hike and swim too.

You must have made the deer very happy, for they by each day hoping to get some extra food, and we loved seeing the twin deer. We had a wonderful time over Christmas and New Years. The Marshall's had decorated the home and we had lights, Christmas Trees, and lots of snows. They gave us full access to their seasonings and spices for which it made is so much easier to cook all of our holiday dinners. The home was immaculate and the housekeeper did all the special touches of having the table all decorated for dinners. The kids loved the facts that they could sled and not have to walk far. We had a family reunion and most families ended in our home, for the Marshall had the Cusinart, and the service for 50. They could not have been easier to work with and life was great!!! Thank you Marshall familiy for leaving your home for us and letting us have access to all of your beautiful prized quilts and home made blankets. It is truly a home away from home and we loved the fact that you left condiments in the refriegerator. We enjoyed many a night on the well lit front porch in your beautiful furniture playing cards and games. Plus the fabulous book selection, video selection made it a lot of fun. Thank you again and we will definitely rent this house every year.

This beautiful, Charming log home had everything that you need while away from home. This kitchen was fully stocked. Lots of covered porches and seating area. My husband does work so there is free wifi, The kids loved the freedom of biking to the rec center without us and getting to all the pools easily. They mattresses were all comfortable and the home was very clean. We loved working with the owners and they had the house all set with the table set and the refrigerator stocked with condiments. We as grandparents loved to sit on the covered porch and watch the kids play in a very protected cul-de-sac with no cars. I highly recommend this homer and the housekeeper was a plus for the home was spotless!!

Cute house, nice location. Be sure to ask about "extra fees" BEFORE you sign contract and send money. They also have more extensive check-out/cleaning procedures than is the norm at Black Butte- half our group had to sleep on stripped down beds the last night we were there in order to have enough time to get all the laundry done the morning of checkout (dryer very slow). Not sure why we bothered since we were informed just before our trip that most of our cleaning deposit would be used for "extra fees". We've been going to Black Butte every year for over ten years and have never had these kind of issues. Left a bad taste after an otherwise very nice week.
Owner response:Unfortunately the above renter was told several times we allow 6-8 people in the home and there are extra charges of $10 per person per night for any extras. He just felt he could put a large number of people in the home and not be charged for it. All of our renters have liked the chance of decreasing their rental cleaning charge by doing their own sheets and towels, if the renters would like the housekeeper to do that, they can always pay a larger cleaning fee. It is completely up to the renter. We are very sorry that the above renter was unhappy, but we have been fortunate that with 15 years of renting our home, he is the only one to complain and most renters are return renters.
