Our spacious, well-appointed and secluded three bedroom chalet-style cottage offers an ideal relaxing getaway with a stunning view across the Southwest River near the picturesque fishing villages of New London (1.5 km) and French River (5 km). Our two-acre property boasts over 150 feet of shoreline on the tidal Southwest river just a short distance from the mouth of the ocean.
Our property has a 60 ft. dock with a platform for swimming and sun-bathing in addition to a sitting area at the waters edge. Guests are welcome to use our canoe and sea kayak (life jackets available).
The cottage itself is set back on a slope amongst mature trees on each side affording our guests full privacy while still providing a gorgeous view of the river and valley from the living room, bedrooms and each of three large decks.
Located in the heart of Anne’s Land on Prince Edward Island’s north shore, the cottage is a short drive to secluded oceanfront sandy beaches, and a ten minute drive to the popular tourist attractions of Cavendish and its National Park with three miles of sand dunes. We are within a fifteen minute drive to four of the island's top golf courses. This is an ideal base for exploring the island and the exceptional attractions the area has to offer. Fresh lobster, mussels and oysters are available from local fishermen in the nearby village.
The cottage was recently fully renovated including all new appliances and furnishings, fully renovated kitchen and bathroom, reclaimed pine flooring throughout - all carefully chosen to reflect a warm and inviting cottage ambiance. The cottage is equipped with a washer/dryer for guests use and all linens and towels are supplied. There is satellite television service, high speed internet access, a DVD player and VCR.
It is important to note that unlike many other vacation rental properties in Prince Edward Island, our property does not have multiple cottages - just the one. As a result, our guests will enjoy plenty of space to themselves and full privacy for their relaxation (we own the vacant, forested lot on the one side and the neighbouring cottage on the other side is not visible from ours).

We leave Highview Cottage with fantastic memories. Secluded & silent, it proved to be the perfect escape from the city. Hours spent with young ones exploring bugs, sea creatures, Bessy the cow & fabulous beaches. We really enjoyed Cabot beach for the sand & sparce crowd. We'll miss the peace and quiet and slow pace we seemed to fall into with ease. The cottage had all we needed and is so nicely decorated. Great sleeps!

I drove through this peaceful countryside, dined in its calm restaurants, prepared many meals with my friends and loved ones, sucked down many many oysters, frequented museums, windmills, lighthouses, ate local mussels and potatoes, relaxed on the veranda, lost many scrabble games, read and slept. I could not have been part of a better vacation. Thank you highview cottage for the relaxation, quiet and air. Now with my head back on straight and my perspective properly placed I sadly cross this door one last time to my work, the grind and the New Jersey turnpike, and yes, Paris Hilton.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this gem of a cottage, nestled in the rolling hills of PEI with a great view. The setting is extremely peaceful and private, and the cottage is well appointed and very charming. Babette, our little dog, enjoyed playing in the grassy front yard and exploring the "wilder side"near the river. The hummingbirds put on a great show at the feeder.
