Our well-appointed and secluded three bedroom chalet-style cottage offers an ideal relaxing getaway with a stunning view across the Southwest River near the picturesque fishing villages of New London (1.5 km) and French River (5 km). Our two-acre property boasts over 150 feet of shoreline on the tidal Southwest river just a short distance from the mouth of the ocean.
Our property has a 60 ft. dock with a platform for swimming and sun-bathing in addition to a sitting area at the waters edge. Guests are welcome to use our canoe and kayaks (life jackets available).
The cottage itself is set back on a slope amongst mature trees on each side affording our guests full privacy while still providing a gorgeous view of the river and valley from the living room, bedrooms and each of three large decks.
Located in the heart of Anne’s Land on Prince Edward Island’s north shore, the cottage is a short drive to secluded oceanfront sandy beaches, and a ten minute drive to the popular tourist attractions of Cavendish and its National Park with three miles of sand dunes. We are within a fifteen minute drive to four of the island's top golf courses. This is an ideal base for exploring the island and the exceptional attractions the area has to offer. Fresh lobster, mussels and oysters are available from local fishermen in the nearby village.
The cottage was recently fully renovated including all new appliances and furnishings, fully renovated kitchen and bathroom, reclaimed pine flooring throughout - all carefully chosen to reflect a warm and inviting cottage ambiance. The cottage is equipped with a washer/dryer for guests use and all linens and towels are supplied. There is satellite television service, high speed internet access and a DVD player.
It is important to note that unlike many other vacation rental properties in Prince Edward Island, our property does not have multiple cottages - just the one. As a result, our guests will enjoy plenty of space to themselves and full privacy for their relaxation (we own the vacant, forested lot on the one side and the neighbouring cottage on the other side is not visible from ours).

Housetrained pets are welcome (our Great Dane Tessa loves the property as much as we do!).

Surprised at the way in which the cottage was so excellently stocked with everything one needs. Surprised at the wonderful views during both daytime and nighttime. What a great vacation! From the moment we arrived at Highview cottage and saw our fantastic accommodations and wonderful views that exceeded our expectations we knoew we would have a great vacation. This place is truly an oasis on the prettiest island in Canada! What could be a better way to start the day than waking from a restful sleep, coming upstairs and looking out at that sunny view of the river. Mornings were spent reading on the deck with a cup of coffee or enjoying a canoe or kayak ride. J & J & family

When “our” cottage nearby ceased being rented we found HIghview. We thought we couldn’t replace “our place” but now we have. From Guestbook:We arrived from Alberta needing a rest and peace and quiet. We loved cottage immediately – every window has a woodland view, especially the view from the deck. Our adult children would start and end each day with a swim in the warm river. The canoe rides were romantic. Our favourite and best used area was the long kitchen table. We had wonderful meals with our family. The well equipped kitchen provided everything we needed for our steamed mussels, our lobster boils, our haddock, scallops and mackerel. Thank you for thoughtfully supplying all the little touches that made Highview Cottage feel like a home. This will always be a special memory for all of us. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to come again. P & G
