Why the Owner Chose Other Olde Naples Properties
Prior to purchasing this property I owned an island house which one could only get to by boat. The moment I saw this property I had to have it! It has that same island feel however much more practical. My friends call it, "Kate's lil' spot of paradise," and that it truly is!

Being raised in Michigan I have always had a passion for boating and being on the water. At the same time, I love to share this lil' utopia with others - allowing them to have the vacation of their dreams.

Kate's place was a very pleasant getaway. Watching the boats coming and going on the river and experiencing the beautiful sunsets just about every evening was a great experience as well. Kate is very personable and goes out of her way to make her guests feel comfortable. The apartment setting is very comfortable and well-stocked with just about everything you might need. Having a freshly made key-lime pie waiting for us when we arrived was not something I expected -- a special touch. Kate's place is a great location from which to visit The Everglades, Naples Botanical Gardens, Corkscrew Sanctuary, and the beach. We had a great time and would recommend Kate's place to anyone visiting Naples. An extra bonus, we could bring out dog with us.

I almost hesitate to recommend this place because I want to come back next year and I don't want it to be booked!! I stayed here for three weeks in November/December 2011. What a great apartment and I hated to leave. Kate has done such a wonderful job decorating the inside and landscaping the outside that it truly felt like home. This ground floor apartment has one of the most relaxing settings that I have ever seen. Just steps away from the water where you can sit on one of the many different decks and watch boats go by, watch the many birds or even some dolphins on one day. The apartment has a fully stocked kitchen (better than mine at home), a great living room with lots of windows overlooking the water on two sides, cable TV, nice bathroom and very quiet bedroom with a large closet and great bed. There is a huge screened porch that goes the length of the house, or sit outside around the fire pit or cook a meal on the gas grill. Be sure to bring your computer because it also has Wifi that is very fast. In addition, you will even have a garage where you can park your car. The best part of staying here is getting to know the owner, Kate. She goes out of her way to make your stay truly amazing. She will be around if you need her, but goes to great lengths to give you as much privacy as you need. Kate has tremendous knowledge of the Naples area and is ready to provide you with recommendations on restaurants, shopping, beaches, etc. Stay here and you will not be disappointed!!

Kate's place is absolutely perfect. My husband and I spent our Christmas holiday there this year, and we can't recommend it enough. The gardens and views from the dock are magical, the apartment is welcoming and nicely decorated (the pictures don't do it justice), and the place is fully equipped with anything you could need. I cooked a number of meals indoors and out without a hitch. My aunt, who lives in Naples, even joked that she would like to rent it as a little vacation hideaway. It really is beautiful spot, and I can't think of a better warm-weather destination for Christmas. And the key lime pie is delicious.

Kate's place is exactly as pictured. It is picture perfect and in perfect condition, not to mention, spotless! The home is located in a quiet neighborhood, on a dead end street, and the only noise I heard were the sounds of the boaters going by and the fish jumping in the lake surrounding the property. There are countless seating areas outside and also an oversized screened in porch. Everything is there for your use, coolers, beach towels, chairs, and fishing poles. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed.

Hi, We spent seven nights in this unbelivable home set in a quiet garden with nice water views. The location was central to everything in Naples. Old Naples a few minutes away. The unit was tastefully decorated and was supplied with everything we needed. The owner went out of the way to see that we were comfortable. we could not have asked for more. Highly Recommened! PS, even an enclosed garage was supplied.

Kate's place was wonderful. Kate was extremely accommodating and worked around our hectic last minute schedule. We were greeted from a long overnight drive with serenity and a homemade key lime pie! .We were able to easily put in our boat nearby and have it ready to go in the water, just outside of window the whole trip. Although Kate lives upstairs, we could not hear a thing and she could not hear our crying and screaming baby. Everything that Kate provided was excellent quality from the Charmin toilet paper to the Bounty Paper Towels and Bath and Body Works soap. She even provided laundry detergent, beach towels, fishing poles, etc....my only complaint was the surprise of no dishwasher with all of our baby bottles, we did not know ahead of time to bring a disinfector for them, but there were paper goods for the days that we were lazy and did not want to wash extra dishes by hand. The grill was super nice and we LOVED the wooded swing, especially with the baby. The deck was beautiful and we loved the large screened in porch and watching the fish jump at dawn and dusk. There is also an amazing, huge aquatic center about 15 minutes away with slides and springboards for those that want to go to the pool. If you bring your boat, there are some beautiful beaches on the bay side that are calmer than the west side in a couple of locations. Our best meals were the ones that we cooked on Kate's grill, but next time we will try some more restaurants...there were some nice ones in the town that looked very nice. We tried a couple of touristy ones on the water with great views, but the food was not great. We had great BBQ at famous Mickelbob's by the airport. Anyway, this is a long review, but Kate's place is wonderful and cozy and the furniture is nice and comfortable too.

A wonderful 2 weeks at Kate's Place. You don't have to fish or boat to enjoy this little slice of heaven. The apartment is spotless clean and provided with anything you might need -- including things for cooking, BBQ's, going to the beach, fishing, biking, evening bonfires, or just hanging around. Close to restaurants, 5th Avenue, the Zoo, and the main road leading to everything else. The gardens surrounding the place are absolutely awesome, like out of a magazine. Sitting in the shady garden with a book is about the most relaxing thing ever. Nature abounds, and we even saw a dolphin swim by one morning. Kate, herself, is an absolute gem and delightful hostess. We felt so welcomed. We could've moved in permanantly, existing on key lime pie. Alas, we had to return to reality and 10-inches of snow at home. You will think you are dreaming when you spend time at Kate's Place. Highly recommended ! Thanks for the terrific memories, Kate!!!

Paradise Found

Kate's place is incredible; more beautiful than the photos, and is quite simply "paradise found". Surrounded by water, the outdoor spaces (deck, dock, firepit/conversation area) and of course, the comfy porch, are extensions of the living space that truly offer peace and serenity and make you feel as though you are home (only a way better home!). The apartment is spacious, sparkling and exquisitely comfortable. The kitchen is fully stocked, well laid out and filled with all the necessities and then some! The living room has huge windows and a sliding glass door that make you feel as though you are living outside. Thoughtfully and beautifully decorated it too is "stocked" with a media center, dvd's, an Ipod dock/player and well placed lighting. There's also a "party cabinet" between the living room and kitchen with - I kid you not- the most awesome wine opener I've ever encountered, plenty of various wine and cocktail glasses and everything you'll need for happy hour (just byob). The serene bedroom and very comfortable bathroom complete the indoor spaces. Beach chairs, towels, umbrella, coolers, candles, oil lamps etc are all provided - as is a washer/dryer. But actually, the thing that really makes this place paradise found is Kate herself. She is the perfect host: accomodating, caring, thoughtful, friendly - and she knows how to let you be in your "own" space. I can not say enough good things about Kate - other than I will return to her wonderful home whenever I can for as long as I can! For places to eat, check with Kate and you won't go wrong. We ate at the Mangrove Cafe and it was terrific, and reasonably priced. Citrus, was also terrific, although more expensive. For a splurge try M Cafe (about a 15 min. drive). Food stores (Publix) and a CVS are 3-5 min. drive away. There's plenty of walking in the neighborhood and beaches are 5-7 min. drive; bring plenty of quarters to park near sunset beach, or park a few blocks away for free. We also did a day trip to Sanibel and Captiva Islands which were lovely. Fergus & I went to Dog Beach in Bonita Springs (great off leash beach and dogs can swim!) and to Delnor-Wiggens State Park (Naples). Dogs can't go on the beach there, but can walk on the trails right behind the sand dunes. Then again, you might just want to stay put and enjoy the paradise found at Kate's wonderful home. We stayed from 12/19 to 12/27 and it wasn't nearly long enough! -Maggie & Fergus & Brenda

What a wonderful find, Kate was so lovely and really made us feel at home. The property is write on the water being on a main artery canel in old Naples. It was wonderful to sit on the dock and watch boaters pass by and do a bit of fishing I even caught a small Snook! Kate has nicely furnished the condo and has left quite a bit of local info etc by the way of guides and maps. There is fishing tackle that you can use in her garage where you even park your car! The lounge even has a stressless leather chair which my wife enjoyed. Cannot find any fault with this property and the host. Using the words of Arnie "we'll Be Back"

I didn't realize that it had been almost a year since we stayed at Kate's Place (July 2009), and we are yearning to return. What a wonderful place to stay for a few days or a month. We love getting away to Naples, but after staying at Kate's Place, we no longer want to stay at a hotel. The accomodations are very comfortable, and having a full kitchen makes vacationing simple. At Kate's we can fish and go boating, or just hang out and chill. Kate herself is not only very accomodating, but one of the nicest ladies you would ever want to meet. I can hardly wait to see her agin!
