A Wonderful Four Bedroom Village Area Cottage situated on beautiful St. Simons Island, Georgia, known for its southern history and charm. "Mermaid Cottage" is located in a quiet neighborhood just a short walk to the beach, restaurants and village shops.
This smoke-free home has all the amenities you could want. Situated two blocks off the beach on a quiet street lined with 150 year old live oak trees, you will enjoy the privacy and special ambiance that "Mermaid Cottage" has to offer.
Three bedrooms and two and one-half baths are in the main house with two living areas. One bedroom with queen bed and a futon, kitchenette and private bath are located in the guest house, perfect place to put the kids!! Total of 2,000 square feet of indoor living space!
Enjoy the privacy of the courtyard area, perfect for catching a nap, outdoor grilling, or swimming in the heated pool, one of the few on the island. Or catch a few games on our new outdoor ping-pong table.

My husband and I LOVE the ocean. As our family grew,and grew, we found St. Simons to be the perfect place to take the kids. They couldn't get enough of the ocean and the biking trails. Our family stayed in the Mermaid Cottage in September, including my husband and myself, my brother and sister-in-law, three children, and my mother. We had a WONDERFUL time! The furniture, beds, linens and pillows were incredibly nice and comfortable. We loved the heated pool, and there were plenty of beach towels to spare. We also enjoyed the close proximity to the Pier Village and beach, which were fun to explore. Martha was a gracious host that made us feel like welcome personal guests. Most of all, it was a wonderful “home” for our family – now spread across the country – to share for a long weekend!

This beautiful, spacious and cozy house more than met our expectations. We were 6 adults and 2 kids (4 and 8 years old) and every single one of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to return one day. My daughters enjoyed the pool so much that they didn’t even want to go out to visit around. My brothers and sisters in law came from out of the country and they were amazed and felt at home immediately. The house is located on a very quiet street; it’s very close to the beach and to the lighthouse and shopping area. It was our first time in lovely Saint Simons and this house made the visit even more pleasant.

The house was perfect in every way!! The floor plan was excellent and the decor was fantastic!! The heated salt water pool was enjoyed by all and the close proximity to the village was great.The only problem that I could find with it, was that we all had to return to work and couldn't stay longer!!

As always, we had an excellent time at the Mermaid Cottage! Everything was just perfect - the pool is so wonderful this time of year. Due to the number of people this time around, we had to rent another house down the street, and it was not even close to the same experience with Martha and Mermaid. We have been going to St. Simon's for 40 years, and this was one of our best vacations. Martha is the best of all our previous owners. The house was comfortable and charming, a true beach house with not only essentials provided(detergent, tissue, paper towels,etc) but lovely,fluffy towels,beach towels,nice linens, condiments,small appliances, and plenty of dishes, silverware,etc. for a crowd. We enjoyed the pool and pingpong table, and we used the grill for a 4th cookout. Martha was in touch with us upon arrival to see that we were happy with the house, and she had many suggestions for entertainment and restaurants. This rental is suitable for all ages. Our family has an age span of 10 months to 73 years, and the house worled well for all.

This was our third stay at the cottage and once again, we found everything to be cozy and so comfortable. We took 4 teenagers this time and there was more than enough room for everyone to have their "space". We love the fact that the cottage is centrally located between the village and the beach, and having the pool makes it even better! This house is quickly becoming our home away from home and we would recommend it to anyone with kids of any age! Thank you again, Martha!

My family of 4 recently stayed at the Mermaid Cottage. It was clean, quiet, well stocked and in a great location. My kids loved the pool and riding their bikes to the pier. it is a great set-up for a family and grandparents or even 2 families. we will definitely be returning!

We absolutely loved the mermaid cottage! The owners, the location, the housekeeping the whole experience was great!! We would highly recommend this location to anyone. The time of year was a little cool but we had and infant with us so it was easier on us northerners!!! Saint Simons Island was lovely and everything very well kept and clean. Don't take our word for it you have to go and check it out. Thank you!

We were going to stay on the beach at some older condos...so, so glad we went with this house. The beach is just down the street. Ideal floor plan for our party of 4 adults and 5 kids. One side of the house has the bedrooms, the other living room and pool access - perfect set-up! Big screen TV - yes, huge plus. Pool is perfect size, and the noodles were a hit with our crew. Outdoor shower - so handy to rinse off the kids. Big dining room table, well equipped kitchen, beach towels, fluffy white bath towels, ping pong table, grill, and on and on. Most of the comments in the guest book read "Martha thought of everything!" She obviously knows exactly how to accommodate a family on vacation. Well done. Would recommend the house to anyone.
