Come visit the world renowned OC on your next vacation! This home is located just two houses from the sand in beautiful Newport Beach! With miles of white sandy beaches and world famous yacht harbor there is much to see and do in one of the loveliest beach cities in the nation.
Our three bedroom, two bath home is perfect for your family vacation. Bedrooms include one queen, one double and a twin as well as a full size convertible sofa in the living room. Brightly decorated with original artwork, hardwood floors and quality furniture you'll find all the comforts of home whilst on vacation. The master bedroom has an attached bathroom with an oversized shower as well as a second TV with Direct TV and a VCR/ DVD player. The second bedroom has two twin beds which can convert to a king size bed, and third bedroom has a double. Second bathroom has a shower, tub combination. All three bedrooms are nicely decorated, clean, and bright. For our out of state guests, linens are available for an additional fee.
This family home is furnished and appointed to a much higher standard than the average summer rental and includes hardwood floors, Direct TV, DSL, wireless internet, CD player, Yamaha upright piano, attached garage with electric door opener and much more which will make you feel at home while on vacation. The living area is spacious and includes a dining table that can seat ten.
The kitchen is outfitted with gadgets galore including Cuisinart, microwave, dishwasher and top of the line stainless steel pots and pans. The garden setting backyard has ample seating for your outdoor meals or lounging. There is a gas barbecue grill as well as a freestanding fire pit. An outdoor shower is available to wash all the sand off at the end of the day!
Located just steps from the area's best beachfront, there is great surfing and lots of sea life on the nearby jetties. An easy stroll or bike ride to restaurants and shopping with fishing, boating and bike rental also within walking distance. Easy day excursions to Disneyland/California Adventures, Knott's Berry Farm, Universal Studios, Hollywood, San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park, Legoland, and more! World class shopping at Fashion Island and South Coast Plaza only 10-15 minutes away!

There were many good things about this property--its size is good, its proximity to the beach and the upstairs property tenant was quite nice and willing to be of help in lending beach toys, etc. The master bedroom was fine and the bed quite comfortable. The living room and dining area are a good size. The other two bedrooms have a set of twin bunkbeds and a twin trundle--they never could have been a king conversion. However, the kitchen is not pictured for a reason! It was quite dirty and I even had to throw out a bin of sprouted, moldy potatoes. I believe the owner moved out for the summer to make this a "summer rental" and although it was nice to have the furnishings feel more like a home, the kitchen really could use some attention. The furniture in the living room smelled moldy, or as my kids said, "like wet dogs." The rental agent was good about responding to our problems with some small problems but when it came time to return our deposit, we had to wait five weeks and make many unreturned phone calls and emails.

Owner response: Hi Meryl, I was sorry to read your comments about our rental. It seems that you liked the property but was unhappy with the housekeeping. We actually leave in June and rent our house out for the whole summer. It seems that the cleaning company was not doing their job! Since we have leather upholstrey on the couch, I assume the wet dog smell was from the chair. I cannot comment on weather previous tenants sat on the furniture while they were wet but I would ot be surprised. The property was clean when we left mid June but since you stayed over a month later I can see where things may have changed. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
June 9-23 only $1800/week June 23 to June 30 and all of July $2000/week. August $2100/week. A refundable Security Deposit will be required. About the owner: Holly is a native of Newport Beach, and Peter is an ex-pat Englishman. They have 2 daughters, one in college and the other in high school. The family lives in this property during the winter school months, but in the summer they leave to run wine tours in Europe, and their home is available for others to enjoy.
Why the Owner Chose West Newport:
Location: on the quieter end of Newport's beach, a few blocks from the end of the boardwalk to avoid the crowds. Also, on this end we don't have to fight traffic like properties further down the peninsula as we're just a block off the Pacific Coast Highway. Close enough to the beach to be able to pop home for fresh ice for your drink, but at a fraction of the price of properties right on the sand.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This is not an ordinary holiday rental, but a home that the owners live in themselves. A major factor when buying the house was the private back yard, very rare in this area, which offers a safe place for young children and a quiet spot to relax when you're tired of the beach, and to BBQ. The kitchen is especially well equipped, so you're not making do with 'rental' gear, but enjoying all the conveniences that you'd expect in a normal home.
