Inside Yosemite National Park and nearest vacation home to Yosemite's three famous areas: Yosemite Valley, Glacier Point and Giant Redwoods. A beautiful home with original paintings and works by famous photographers. Two to five bedrooms, each with private bath. Great room and deck have wonderful sunset views. The kitchen is fully equipped and has basic food supplies such as herbs, oil, coffee. One bedroom is handicapped accessible. Very quiet location. No street lights but lots of stars.
Enjoy our garden area and waterfall from a hammock as you watch our local wildlife: bears, deer, coyotes, a variety of birds and more. Ski in Winter at Badger Pass, only six miles away.

Year Purchased: 1998
Don Pitts, a retired magistrate judge, held court in Yosemite for over 18 years. He still officiates at weddings. His wife, Kay, is an artist specializing in paintings of Yosemite. They built the Falcon's Nest in 1998 to be a vacation home/bed and breakfast. Kay designed the home and it is filled with original art and photography from some of the best known artists of the area. The main floor is a 1700 sq. ft vacation rental with 3 bedrooms all with private bath. The lower two rooms can be added for larger groups. There are two bed and breakfast rooms. We also have two condominiums around the corner. Managers Melissa and Dezmond live on site and are very helpful in assisting guests with vacation plans. Don and Kay live next door and have hiked and skied almost every possible area of the Park.
Why the Owner Chose Yosemite National Park
Don and Kay built the Falcon's Nest to be a vacation rental. The area of Yosemite West is a small subdivision of private homes located at 6,000 feet elevation. It is only accessible by entering Yosemite Park. There is no commercial development here and consequently no traffic or crowds. The home is close to Yosemite's 3 major attractions: Yosemite Valley is 10 miles north, Glacier Point is 16 miles east and the Wawona golf course and the Mariposa Grove of giant redwoods are south. Winters bring lots of snow and the home is only 6 miles from Badger Pass ski resort where guests enjoy Nordic and Alpine skiing as well as snowboarding and snowshoeing.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The serene location allows guests to enjoy the abundant wildlife. Guests often see coyotes, deer and bears in the garden area drinking from our pond. Many varieties of birds are here and at night the stars are amazing. There are no street lights or traffic to spoil the serenity. Hiking and Nordic ski trails are just outside the door.
