Our year-round lakefront home is located on beautiful Lauderdale Lakes just 20 minutes north of Lake Geneva. Just rated the CLEANEST LAKE in WALWORTH COUNTY 2007. We have one of the BEST locations on Lauderdale Lakes...the views are breathtaking inside and out! The house sits back 30 feet from the lake, directly on Lauderdale Lakes (GREEN LAKE), a four-chain, spring-fed lake (950 acres). There is 60 feet of prime swim frontage (Sandy Bottom and NO weeds). Green is the deepest lake, has very little weeds, best for fishing, and has a sandy bottom.
Our house is a unique log-cabin, chalet-style home situated on a long wooded lot(300 feet), with SPECTACULAR panoramic views from every window! The house is light, bright, and spacious with southern exposures and has been completely updated-everything new.
If you're not a morning person, you will be, once you sit out on the deck, which is canopied with Oak Trees... and see the beautiful sunrise! The home is very comfortable, and once you stay, you will want to come back every year! The home is decorated in lodge decor and completely updated with a new kitchen, bathroom, windows, doors, flooring, and large addition to the master bedroom that has a Jacuzzi tub, and fireplace. All new landscaping-2006, including a new seawall and brand new heavy duty white resin piers.
NEW in 2006: New log-style white cedar deck, with stairs that walk onto a brand new Flagstone patio that has a built in fire pit. There are 2 levels of lakeviews! PICTURES WILL BE UP SOON.
There are year-round activities and a lot to see and do on Lauderdale Lakes.
WATER-SPORTS:
The water is crystal clear and great for swimming, water skiing, fishing, jet skiing, and boating. Boats and Jet skis can be rented at the Lauderdale Lakes Marina. Lauderdale is a great fishing lake, home to Bluegill, Walleye, Northern Pike, Large and Small mouth bass.
There is a free water ski show every Saturday night put on by the Lauderdale Lakes Aqua skiers. And if you get hungry, the Lauderdale Landings is walking distance from the house and located on the lake. They serve great pizza and have live bands on the weekends.
GOLF:
Lauderdale Lakes Golf Course is located on the lake, and just down the street a mile or so is the Evergreen Golf Course. There are over 15 golf courses in Walworth County area. An information binder with a list of all the golf courses, restaurants, and activities in the area, will be provided for you at the home.
KETTLE MORRAINE STATE PARK:
Just two miles from the house is the Kettle Morraine State Park, where you can hike, bike, cross country ski, horseback ride, or just take a nature walk. Very Scenic.
FALL and WINTER:
The fall colors are spectacular, especially around the lake, which makes Autumn the perfect time of year to enjoy nature walks, hayrides, bonfires, and pumpkin and apple picking. In the winter there is snowmobiling, ice-scating, ice fishing, sledding, cross country skiing, and downhill skiing at Alpine Valley and Grand Geneva Resorts. If you like to stay indoors... you can sit infront of the stone fireplace and sip on a hot drink. Visit the Elegant Farmer, a quaint country store and bakery which is open YEAR ROUND and just a short 15 minute drive into Mukwonago. They offer Trolley Rides and a variety of "fall-type" things to do, including shopping for homemade jams, brats, breads and their famous "Apple Pie in a Bag"!

My husband Bob and I are in our mid 40's. Bob is a lawyer in his own law firm and I (Jane) own my own business importing commercial Christmas Lights and decorations for commercial decorators.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Geneva
As a kid, my parents had a cottage on Lauderdale Lakes in the early 70's along with many other neighbors from my hometown in Elmhurst, Illinois. My entire childhood summers were spent on Lauderdale Lakes. My sisters and I made many long lasting friendships with kids on the lake, who also had cottages and lived in the Chicago area. My parents divorced when I was in my late 20's and sold the cottage. I swore that I would get back on Lauderdale, and was determined to some day buy a home there. Since Bob and I couldn't have kids, I convinced him to look at lake homes with me in Wisconsin. We looked at many different lakes but none compared! They were not as clean (spring fed) and clear as Lauderdale Lakes and... didn't have the old memories. An old lake friend called me to tell me that a "For Sale by Owner" sign went up down the street from her, and that I had to drive up to see this house. I called immediately. We drove out to the house that Tuesday, I walked into the house, walked out on the deck and said to Bob..."This is the house". The house sat up from the lake and view was spectacular. It was a cottage/A-frame style with high ceilings and lots of wood, decorated lodge style...just what I always wanted. The house was perfect. Since we purchased in 2004, we have put in a new deck, all new landscaping, and many upgrades throughout the house. We are currently knocking out the roof in our upstairs bathroom so that we can add a 2 sink vanity, more walking room, closets, a new shower, and a bigger bathroom all around. This summer we will celebrate our 5th year in our cottage. We love to entertain friends and family and take pride in our home. I feel back at home on Lauderdale Lakes and my husband (who didn't want to buy a lake home) absolutely loves it. I can't get him off the WaveRunner, and now he wants to build a Tiki Bar! Lauderdale Lakes was again rated the cleanest lake in Walworth County 2 years in a row.
The Unique Benefits of this Year-Round Home
THE VIEW! The deck! The deep clean water off the 2 piers are some of the biggest qualities. The new swim raft we purchased in 2008 has been huge hit with the adults and kids. We have huge wood deck and a flagstone patio below with a fire pit which we use all the time. The house has an open concept with lots of windows. Everything is new. The kitchen, appliances, bathrooms, etc. Central Air if you want to use it, and we have a wide screen TV with over 900 cable channels if you wish to relax inside. We are located on a long wooded lot with lots of trees in the front and back. You have to come by and check it out to understand why our house is so unique.
