My family decided to try to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for a long weekend. We hit a homerun with this property. It had everything we were looking for and more. It was very private yet close enough to get groceries, shop, etc. The golfers in the group decided to hit the Siren National. A great track at a good value that was only about 20 minutes away. The kids (and adults)in the group loved the fact that there wasn't a steep drop off into deep water. It was gradual and safe. At night, the fire pit and wood supplied to us made for a great evening of relaxation. Overall, we had a great experience here and look forward to hopefully another one next year!Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

Our family (and water dog) rented this house for a late summer week. The cabin was very private and quiet compared to north woods resorts, and very well-equipped compared to other vacation rentals we have stayed in. The area is lovely, with lots of options for day trips and activities. The lake is shallow, and we pulled in loads of super-sized bull bluegills. Dan could not have been more helpful, calling a few times to make sure we were settled in and had everything we needed. A great place to hang out in the north woods.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We had an amazing time at your property. The owners were so helpful and accomodating for our dogs. It was the first time all of our dogs were able to come and enjoy the lake as well. Weather was hot, hot, hot which made the lake oh so much better!! Can't wait to visit again!!Recommended for: Pet owners.

My wife and I stayed in the Brass Bell for 2-1/2 weeks. We had a very relaxing time at the cabin, and it was very clean and well appointed. The cabin featured nice full-size appliances (including a dishwasher!) and a very nicely remodeled bathroom with a large, clean shower. Pictures online were very accurate representation of the property. The lake was good for both boating and swimming (...to be accurate, there were some weeds in the lake, but they were cleaned out of an area by the dock and out past the dock that made for a very sufficient swimming area, and they did not pose a problem). The screened porch was great, and we spent a lot of time relaxing there by the lake bug-free. Though we did not use the fire-pit (it was in the 90's most days we were there), it was nice to know that it was available with a very adequate supply of wood. The location was not far from 2 small towns (Webster and Danbury) with a decent grocery and services. We went canoeing on the Namekagon River through Pardun's Canoe Rental in Danbury, and had a terrific time. Restaurants are available and varied throughout the area, and even the theater in nearby Siren was welcome on a rainy day. We look forward to being able to come back and spend more time at this cabin.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Dan, I am writing to tell you the wonderful time my family and I had at your property. The drive up there was just right for a quick get away yet it was secluded enough to give us the privacy that we were looking for. When we arrived we were greeted by yourself and made to feel right at home. Both units were very clean and well appointed. It was a good thing that you have heating in both cabins since our choice of time periods gave us some cold mornings but warm afternoons. It was a treat to have fires every night, watch the moon come up, and have some quality family time together. The days were filled with fishing, playing games in the yard, and seeing the local sights. We had my wifes father-in-law and his wife come up for a couple of days and the Brass Bell was perfect for the older, stair challenged couple. I would certainly recommend your property to others and for another stay for my family in the future. Once agan thanks for making our time at the lake special.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our family of 4 (plus our dog) spent a wonderful week at the Bellaire. The property was accurately described in the listing -- spacious, clean, and so comfortable. The lake is just a few steps away -- a beautiful, quiet lake with fish jumping out of the water & eagles flying overhead. The owner was there to welcome us when we arrived and answered all our questions. We spent most of our time on the dock & on the water, but did enjoy a few meals out -- most notably, the Friday night fish fry at the Yellow Lake Lodge. It was a great week, and we'll definitely return. Thank you so much, Dan & Joanne!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, families with young children.

Clean, roomy cabin on a peaceful lake made for the perfect Northwoods getaway. The friendliness and hospitality shown by our hosts made us feel right at home. Even on a gray weekend in June, we felt perfectly relaxed and a million miles from the hubbub of the city. A true hidden gem.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Thank you Dan and Joanne. We had a great week at your cabin. The cabin was very clean, well laid out, well maintained and well appointed (washer dryer, multiple baths, shower, separate bedrooms for kids at the end of hall, dependable boat, firewood, etc..). The location is perfect - clean sandy beach, clear shallow water, good fishing, secluded (but yet 15 min from good grocery stores), perfect sunsets, etc. Dan and Joanne were attentive but unintrusive hosts. We'll be back for sure. Thanks again. PS - Definitely check out the historical fort just down the road (Fort Folle Avoine)!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, families with young children.

We just returned from a wonderful family get-together at Bass Lake. The location was perfect for our far-flung family converging from the Twin Cities and Madison. The two cabins were immaculately clean and well appointed. The screened porch was the perfect gathering place. Dan and Joanne were most welcoming and helpful. The dogs were in heaven swimming and playing in the clear water. Thanks for a great time!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.
