This was a wonderful place to stay. We were in town for my sisters wedding. The house and grounds were well kept. My wife and two children as well as my parents stayed here for 9 days. The kids loved the basketball area. They even found Barbies and a Barbie House in the closet. They didn't want to leave. We liked the sense of security, a quiet street, close to everything...seriously. We drove to DisneyLand for 2 days (1.5 hrs). Three minutes from either the 'sand beach' or the 'rock beach' (Cabrillo point or Ocean Beach). Great places to eat and shop. We will make time to stay here again on our next visit.

Charming and Beautiful

What a lovely place to spend some time away. We could not have been more pleased. This home has so much charm and character. We loved the hard wood floors, the size of the bedrooms and the comfort of the home. But the best reason to stay here is the yard and deck. The hot tub, deck area with wet bar is perfect for entertaining guests and family. The deck is large enough to easily accomidate an outside gathering. It is very private and inviting. It is also located close enough to the airport and other amenities to make it easily accessible. We would highly recommend this property.

What can I say? Fantastic house. Sunny interior, comfortable Beds, great deck for hanging out. Hot tub! There are even tasty lemons and oranges growing on trees in the backyard. Very responsive owners. All in all, a great home base for your San Diego trip, great for a longer stay as well.

This home was in a great neighborhood in San Diego - close to Gaslamp, Old Town, great shopping, beaches and restaurants. The street was quiet and the huge back and front yard areas were very private. The kids bedroom was super cute with bunk beds and some toys/games, and the master suite was very nice and spacious as well with comfortable bedding. The yard in this home is what will keep us coming back - our two year old loved playing in the trees and basketball court! And, since it's all fenced in, it was very safe. The outdoor heaters, draping lights, great patio furniture, granite bartop with TV, fridge and jacuzzi made this home a true vacation! Thank you for a great stay! We hope to return in the summer when it's warmer! The two recommendations I would make to make this home ever better would be to provide some cleaning supplies so we moms can clean up as we stay (Clorox wipes would have been great or just a bottle of cleaner), as well as some plastic, rather than wire, hangers in the closets. :)

Beautiful house in Point Loma that is perfect for any special occasion!

I celebrated my 40th birthday at the Point Loma Charmer. It was my best birthday yet!!! This adorable house set in the hills overlooking the San Diego skyline is the perfect place for any small gathering of friends or family. The location is ideal. It is just blocks from the ocean and a short drive to downtown San Diego. It has a wonderful outside deck with a bbq and built-in bar that is great for dining or entertaining. It is beautifully maintained and landscaped with a huge backyard. For those who want to relax, there is an awesome and very clean jacuzzi. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. The owners were so helpful. They suggested many fun activities for us to enjoy during our week in San Diego. They went out of their way to make sure we were all happy. Not only will I come back to the Point Loma Charmer on my next trip to San Diego, but I will recommend it to all my friends and family.

Nice home with an excellent location

I came to this home with my husband and 4 kids ages 20, 18, 18 and 11. This house suited our needs for Comic-Con 2011. It was an easy 6 mile drive to the convention center each morning and it was also very easy to get to Sea World which was about 2 miles away. We saw on the map it was close to water but you do have to drive 2 miles to get to a nice swimming beach. The water is cold here so be prepared! The house has a nice fenced in yard with beautiful landscaping, a nice deck with a hot tub and an outdoor table where we enjoyed several meals. The home was nice and clean and we found all the utensils we needed to make our meals. The beds were comfortable and we didn't have any trouble falling asleep after long days of sight seeing. There is a grocery store very close. Unfortunately I had a family member pass a way the week after we returned and had to fly out of town again. The owners understood our situation and promptly refunded the deposit which was a great help to me and my family. Also, they did rent to us for 6 days, not requiring the full week that many owners do which again was very much appreciated. I would recommend this home and I would stay here in the future.

Point Loma Charmer = Perfectly Charming!

Whenever I am lucky enough to plan an SD getaway, I make it a point to stay at the Point Loma Charmer for a perfect stay. For the past few years, this beautiful and cozy home has been an absolute dream to return to and enjoy beautiful SD. The beds are incredibly comfortable, as is the furniture in the living room, and I'm in love with the outside deck, hot tub, and bar ammenities. I also enjoy the dining room table for dinner parties, or outside dining where there is even a heat lamp for those rare cool SD evenings. The location is ideal and close to the beach, Seaworld, and downtown. Dave and Kelly are a complete pleasure to work with, and are always readily available for any questions or concerns. I feel so comfortable at the PL Charmer, it practically feels like a second home. I look forward to my next visit, and would definitely recommend this peaceful abode to anyone heading to SD in the future.

Wonderful Vacation Spot

We recently enjoyed a week In San Diego, and this house was perfect for a three generation family. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The outdoor basketball court allowed the youngest generation to run off more steam and the hot tub and outdoor bar allowed the other two generations to relax. Everything was exactly as portrayed in the listing. Fun place!

WONDERFUL VACATION HOME

My family and I spent a WONDERFUL vacation week ?in the Pt. Loma Charmer. The house was ?immaculate, spacious, and charming. We ?thoroughly enjoyed the backyard deck area ?complete with patio dining area, hot tub, space ?heaters, yard, and basketball court. This wonderful ?vacation home also comes with an entire movie ?selection of family Disney movies that our kids ?REALLY enjoyed. This house is located on a very ?street (culdesac) and has a beautiful and private ?fenced front and back yard. This is truly the most ?beautiful, spacious, immaculate, and family friendly ?house we have every stayed in. Absolutely perfect ?for families with children as their are so many ?books, toys, videos, and play areas. We will most ?definately be back again. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL ?vacation house and wonderful owners that go out of ?their way to ensure that your stay is a special one. ?Lastly, this vacation home is located very centrally ?to all areas of San Diego, Coronado, La Jolla, Sea ?World, etc. Our family gives this home our highest ?recommendation!!!??

I booked this place based on the large # of good reviews. Unfortunately for me I didn't notice that the reviews were very dated for a place that seemingly books out almost every week. I figured out why there are no recent reviews upon arrival. THE GOOD * close proximity to the airport and local establishments * size of the house * customer service from the owners THE BAD * dated, ripped and stained furniture and bed linens * technology (TV, internet) all very old and unreliable * dirt and mold in various places of the home (we felt pretty uncomfortable) THE UGLY * Constant smell of a cat INSIDE the home. We opted to go out as much as possible * Jacuzzi fills up with suds so it is totally unusable * Constant smell of cat INSIDE the home...did I mention there was a ball of fur in the kitchen AC vent. I never looked too hard to see exactly what it was. Probably the source of the smell.

My parents and a few friends stayed at The Charmer. It is very close to all the attractions but yet far away from the busy streets in a quite neighborhood. We attended a wedding reception that ended up being only 5 minutes away! I would recommend for families or even a girls getaway!

I would like to let potential renters know that we booked this charming house in Point Loma and we were looking forward to spending a week there during our daughter's wedding. After sending in our deposit, circumstances beyond our control would prevent us from renting this property. Thus, I called the owner within the required time in the contract (60 days) to inform them of our unfortunate cancellation and we requested our deposit be sent back. I am delighted to report that we received our deposit back in full within two weeks; no hassles. It is good to know there are folks out there that stand by what they say they will do. It was a pleasure doing business with them and we will consider them in the future. Thanks!

We had a great time. The house is bigger than it looks from the street. It was nice to play a little basketball on the court and then relax in the hot tub! This house was the perfect rental! I rented in September as a home base for my wedding and it was perfect. We had the rehearsal dinner/BBQ and it was amazing, casual, and laid back. The kids played basketball on the ½ court and the adults cooked and relaxed on the great deck! The kitchen and outside wetbar was great for hosting a party. The master bedroom was where my bridesmaids and I got ready. The bathroom is large and there was plenty of room for 5 bridesmaids, 2 flower girl and I to get ready!! Great value! Nice owners! Highly recommended!

We loved this house! It is so beautiful and comfortable. We had a lovely time and enjoyed everything. The location is great and close to most freeways. There is a super market within 5 minutes walking distance. The ocean is 5 minutes driving distance. No issues with parking and lovely back yard. The management of the property was extremely kind and accommodating. We recommend this house to any family who wants to have fun and relax at the same time in San Diego. Thank you so very much for doing all that you could to accommodate our large party in both scheduling and comfort. The house was extremely well presented and very comfortable and pleasing. We all had a wonderful time in the jacuzzi, playing basketball and having an outdoor BBQ. We would definitely recommend the Point Loma Charmer! It was perfect for our stay when our daughter got married in Point Loma in May 2008. It provided a great place to prepare for the upcoming events, to entertain guests, and was also a really good place to relax. It is clean with very good electronics (TV, stereo system that plays ipods, wifi, etc.) and the kitchen had very nice appliances. We loved the back patio! People who dropped by had many favorable comments, as well. It really is charming!

We had a great time at the house during our children's spring break. The house was comfortable for the six of our (my wife, myself, and 4 children). While we spent much of our time visiting sites of San Diego, we did enjoy the quiet neighborhood and location of Point Loma, relaxing on the deck, and the kids enjoyed soaking in the hot tub every evening. It was definitely a superior alternative to traditional hotels and we would recommend it strongly.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming home with our family of 5. The location is quiet and away from crowds, but easily accessible to all the main attractions. We really enjoyed all the flowers and greenery, and everything we needed was provided, including Internet access and a jacuzzi! This was a perfect choice for us. The house was beyond our expectations. We had 6 adults and 1 10 yr old and there were plenty of sleeping areas. The area felt safe and quiet. The appliances were great and the use of the washer and dryer was very handy. The location was not more than 5-15 mins drive to SeaWorld, the Zoo/Balboa Park or downtown. Only a couple mins to see the ocean or San Diego Bay. The spacious yard and deck made it easy to just relax at home as well.

We rented this home with another family for our annual S.D. vacation. It was great and worked well for all - kids and adults. Great location around 10 min. to Ocean Beach and very close to Shelter Point island. We really enjoyed the deck and hot tub. Everyone had a great time.

Words can't describe how much fun we had. The house was beautiful and very, very clean. There was nothing that we needed. We had plenty of beach towels and chairs for the beach. It's set up for kids. They kept entertained the entire time. The back yard was large and very clean. We are talking about renting again for next year already. If you want a really nice and clean place to go. Rent from them.

Our family of four celebrated last Christmas 2005 in the Charmer. Of course we rented sight unseen and were pleasantly surprised at how "Charming" it truly was. Cozy, warm and exceptionally clean. Even though the weather was somewhat cool, we spent a lot of time outside. The back yard as well as front is inclosed so if you have younger children, it's a major plus. We defintely enjoyed the hot tub ( newer model and very clean, again ), the outdoor grill and patio area ( heaters outside made all the difference on cooler days! ). WOW! This place has it all! It's a shame that the internet doesn't get across what a charmer this house REALLY is!! We're so glad we chose to stay there. Loved how close we were to the fun and the sun and at the same time it was quiet and relaxing. Loved the jacuzzi, the yard and the "Al Fresco" dining, loved the interior ...Loved it ALL!!
