Year Purchased: 2013
About the owner: The Aho Family purchased this 1750 square foot cottage in the spring of 2013. We had a great time, through a lot of hard work, preserving the character of the house while adding many modern touches and amenities. We worked hard to retain much of the original doors, moldings and clawfoot tub. We have put a lot of time and love into this home.
Why the Owner Chose Hood River: Hood River has always been a favorite destination for a day of shopping, enjoying amazing food, touring the wineries and breweries. When we first looked at this home we knew this was the perfect property for us. A darling 1914 bungalow with amazing bones in a beautiful historic neighborhood. A spacious deck has been added to enhance the view and outdoor living space. Everything downtown Hood River has to offer is within an easy walk of the house and we love not having to use our car. We are amazed that we can discover new hiking trails and waterfalls, mountain biking adventures right outside our door. We fell in love with the house and new it would be a perfect place for our family to make many memories in.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage: Our welcoming front porch will make you smile as you arrive and the newly refinished floors will welcome you in. The kitchen is large enough for even the most discriminating chefs and very well equipped. Art from local artists add original charm throughout. There is an outdoor shower for those extra muddy mountain biking days or sandy days at the beach. The back deck is a wonderful place to relax while enjoying the view. We have landscaped the front and back yard with herbs, berries and vegetables that you can enjoy and use in your cooking.
