My wife, our 7 year-old daughter, and dog spent a wonderful four days at Eagle Creek Ranch. This is a large and beautiful property snugged along the banks of the Trinity River, on the far eastern edge of the Trinity Alps. The ranch house sits adjacent to a sparsely traveled local road, which locals use for their evening walks. Immediately across from the house, a grassy pasture and grazing horses are overlooked by a striking mountain ridge. The crest of Billy's Peak towers over the valley. All of this was just what we were looking for. We fished (no luck) and swam (brrr!) in the Trinity. We walked the roads, and there were lots of hikes - either right out the door or only minutes away by car. We played in the yard, read books, and hardly ever went inside. I saw the same bald eagle, hunting above the river, every morning on my runs. By the end of the trip, our daughter was ready to give up city life and even cried as we packed up. These are all signs of a really good trip.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, age 55+.

Eagle Creek Ranch is a superb vacation house. The house is well appointed, comfortable and everything is top quality. The surroundings in the valley of two mountain's with the Trinity River flowing through the property is ideal for fishing and the roads along the property are great for biking. Linda makes sure you are well taken care of -- from the amenities to advice about where to find trout and great hiking. We comfortably housed four adults, two teenagers and two toddlers. The green lawn near the house, the wonderful front porch, top quality beds and the eat in kitchen make for a comfortable stay. Internet access is good and allowed everyone to look up info on trails, and do some essential work. The house was spotless and stocked with soap, shampoo, towels, basic spices, and other essentials. Great fishing and a fun swimming hole right on the property. I would highly recommend Eagle Creek Ranch to anyone that wants to experience the magic of the Trinity Alps.Recommended for: Families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

What an amazing hidden gem to be found in the Trinity Alps! From the super hospitality from Linda and Bob, to the tranquility and serenity of the ranch and its surroundings; one couldn’t ask for more. We have stayed in many vacation rentals and this one has to be put at the top of the list! Just sorry that we couldn't have stayed for longer....Recommended for: Pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

My wife, 3 month old son, parents and our dog had a great stay at your cabin! The pictures don't describe how beautiful the area is. Everything in Gussie's was clean and comfortable. We look forward to returning in the future. Best, BPRecommended for: Sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We have been coming to this beautiful ranch for three years now. We have found heaven and can never wait to get back up here. Peace and solitude are always awaiting and there are no better hosts than Bob and Linda. We have even introduced Eagle Creek Ranch to our grown children and grand kids. No surprise, they all love it! Our six year old grandson was so excited as he reeled in trout from the Trinity River that flows through the property. Needless to say, the trout fishing is fantastic! The countless hiking trails are also a great way to see this beautiful region of California. Linda is so knowledgeable about the trails and will always send you on a great hike. We also always look forward to mingling with Rusty, who is so willing to lend a helping hand. As you can see, we love it here and can't wait to get back. Thank you Bob and Linda for helping us find our second home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We had a wondertul time at this beautiful spot. Gussie's place was an ideal place to have our annual sisters' reunion and celebrate Eileen's 50th birthday. Rainy days by the fire with wine and good conversation--walks to the meadow, pond sitting and lovely drives make for some great memories---thanks.Did you find this review helpful? Well...a good time was definitely had by all! A week of adventures in the wilderness will not easily be forgotten. Neither will gold panning, bass fishing, feeding the fish in the pond, swimming, skipping stones and balancing rocks to make sculptures. We were also quite amazed by the variety of wildlife. **The fact we say no bear was made up with the sighting of the llama..Ha haDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Despite the lack of snow down at the ranch we still managed to have a wonderful time snow-shoeing up on Scott Mountain. We took the Pacific Crest Trail west and found great views of the valley, Mt. Shasta and the Alps after a 2 mile hike. Our dog really enjoyed her first trip to the snow. We made our vesion of fancy mac'n'cheese called extravagance and it might have rivaled Gussie's! Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our visit to Eagle Creek Ranch has been so delightful! You have been so generous and gracious in letting us stay at Gussie's house. Your land is so beautiful and soothing. Scott and I will cherish our time here forever. When we come again, I hope you and Bob will join us in a bottle of wine and share stories with us. Until then, stay well, steward the land and have a blast in Costa Rica! In kindness, Chris and ScottDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our family felt completely at home here. There was plenty of space to follow our individual paths and all that we needed for gatherings. Mountains, rocky streams and many trees transport me as close to heaven as I'll be in this world. The grandkids took advantage of the wide open space to wander and roam---it is so good for them. Talking about local history and culture made the visit complete. Thanks for a great week! Now back to the world after a memorable Thanksgiving week.Did you find this review helpful?
