This beautifully decorated 2800 sq ft home is located on a private section of one of British Columbia's most pristine lakes. Southern exposure with 100 ft of private sandy beach, your own dock and 20 by 20 ft swimming platform are all yours to enjoy. Warm, swimmable water coupled with outstanding scenery, and a lush peaceful setting offer an unbeatable combination for your next vacation.
Enjoy the "comforts of home" with leather and microsuede sofas, pillowtop mattresses with high thread count linens,sunroom overlooking the lake, high speed internet access, and a large entertainment room with DVD, surround sound, MP3 capabilities.
Rest on one of 2 decks which overlook the lake and mature fir trees. Fire up the BBQ, have a cold drink, and watch the sun set. Escape the hassles of everyday life and get down to the "business of relaxing!".
The home is situated just outside Port Alberni, on Vancouver Island, BC. The Alberni Valley enjoys some of the hottest temperatures on Vancouver Island in the summer, making a dip in the lake particularly refreshing. The town lies midway (about an hour drive) between the coastal resort towns of Tofino/Ucluelet and the Nanaimo ferry terminals/airport. These towns provide good day trip opportunities, with the convenience of returning to your own home to relax afterwards. Comox Airport is similarly about an hour's drive and offers direct service from Calgary and Edmonton.
Local activities are plentiful in the Alberni Valley. July 2008 the Tall Ships will again begin their journey in Port Alberni
before heading to the open ocean. Boating,(motor boat and kayak rentals available) fishing, water-skiing, wakeboarding and swimming are all popular lake activities. Local fishing guides can help you "land" some of the large salmon and halibut that inhabit local waters. Golf, hike, or just take it easy-there is something for everyone! Explore local native history, museums, restaurants and shops . Experience the areas festivals and fairs -ranging from Classic Car Shows to National Sandcastle Building Competitions. Join the folks who come to Salmon Festival where the largest salmon nets 10k in prize money! Explore local caves, hidden lakes, and other natural treasures.
Enjoy the Mars Water Bombers moored on the lake and the only 2 firefighting planes of their type in the world. Relax with a walk through nearby Cathedral Grove, home to massive old growth cedar and fir trees-some of which are 800 years old! Take a day trip on the Lady Rose- a working boat which travels from Port Alberni via a salt water inlet to the Pacific Coast.

This is our fourth and final leg of our 3 week travel. We were thrilled to walk in the house and find such a comfortable but classy setting. The view will stay with us. Treks to Ucluelet and Chesterman Beach, country market at Coombs,skipping stones and climbing fallen trees at Cameron Creek, salmon fishing off Gabriola, eating supper on the dock,breathing in the air and the view! Playing games in front of the fireplace, hiking the trails- these are our memories we take with us as we leave the lake. So as we take our memories, we leave our blessings and prayers with you.
