Hello Friends! The sugar-white sands and clear emerald waters of the Destin, Fort Walton Beach area welcomes you! Our cheerful Lanai condominium is the epicenter of convenience for all of your vacation pleasures. Centrally located, our cozy condominium is perfect for beach, fun, and sun!
LOCATION: We are conveniently located on Okaloosa Island. This island connects Destin to Fort Walton Beach. You get the best of both worlds at our location: 4 miles of natural beach and bay coastline on one side and sheer fun on the other side of the island with The Gulfarium, The Boardwalk, and many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Our Pelican L-02 condo is also a convenient Lanai. Just step off our porch to the ground level with private access to the lazy river, down to the grills, or to the bay. Families love the lanais!
BEACHES: Tired of crowds of people on the beach? Our condominium sits on the edge of miles of undeveloped coastline. Your view is unobstructed and playtime on the coast is free from crowds of people. Or you can cruise down to The Boardwalk where there is a fishing pier, volleyball nets, surfers, skin-boarders, and more!
LAZY RIVER: Our private patio (with a private bottom patio great for laying out) overlooks a 700-foot lazy river! Step right out of our gated porch and jump into the lazy river which is lined with palm trees and beautiful landscaping. Relax and enjoy the beauty as you float around the lazy river.
POOL AREAS: There is an seasonally heated pool with a waterfall flowing into it and 2 large hot tubs in the center of the bayside complex. There is also a gradual decline pool (or zero-entry level pool) that feeds into the Lazy River. Parents love the safety of their toddlers playing in the shallow water. Or imagine sitting in your private 2-person jacuzzi tub, sipping Margaritas, watching the kids float by on an inner tube in the moving Lazy River! Can it get any better? It CAN!
The beachside complex offers a 5000 sq. ft. pool, a splash garden water playground for the kids, a kiddy pool, a large hot tub, and the Villas has an seasonally heated pool underneath the building.
ADDITIONAL AMENITIES: The SKYWALK or bridge connecting the beachside complex to the bayside complex makes using all of the amenities at Destin West a breeze! Cross over the bridge in ease without worrying about traffic. The beachside also has a state of the art FITNESS GYM right on the beach. CHARCOAL GRILLS and PICNIC TABLES on both the bayside and beachside make grilling out inviting and fun. Or throw FRISBEE/FOOTBALL on the grassy areas by the grills on the bayside.
CONDO FEATURES: We have FREE WIRELESS INTERNET, cable TV, games, a Pac-N-Play (so you don't have to bring yours), a children's booster seat that straps onto the kitchen chair for easy/mess free eating, a plush pillow-top King mattress, Bunk beds (the bottom mattress is a pillow-top), a door enclosing our bunk area, a queen sleeper sofa, a fully equipped kitchen, all linens/towels provided, and great Lanai porch furniture for eating outside.

Why the Owner Chose Destin West Beach and Bay Resort
Okaloosa Island has the best of both worlds. You have 4 miles of undeveloped beach and bay on one side of the resort. It is a taste of old Florida where you can walk peacefully without loads of people and enjoy the beauty of the big sand dunes, birds, sea oats, and gorgeous water. Or we can walk right across the street and eat on the beach at many restaurants at The Boardwalk. Also at the Destin bridge is where you can find the water sport rentals and the famous Harbor of Destin. We can eat and watch all of the fishing boats come in with their catch at sunset. Destin West is at such a great location! You cannot beat being on an island!!
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I love waking up to our colorful decor, grabbing a cup of coffee, opening the living room drapes and looking out at the bay, the beautiful aqua lazy river coming down to our porch like a ribbon, and the big palm trees swaying in the gentle breeze. I love being able to step right off my porch to jump into the lazy river or heading to the main pool entrance that is just steps away from our condo. I also love the convenience of grilling out on the bay and bringing our freshly grilled food right to our porch table since we have direct access to the ground level. Forget the mustard? You are right there at our condo! And the lazy river....ahhh, to float around and look at all of the beautiful landscaping while drifting by views of the bay and watching sailboats breeze by.....who can beat that?

What used to be an island now covered in water, allows you to anchor your boat and get out in waist deep water and play right by the Destin Bridge!
Known for the Emerald Water at the Destin Pass you won't believe the color of the water! Many dolphin also swim in the pass.
Destin Harbor is where you want to rent your water sport rentals, charter fishing dock here, eat at a Harbor restaurant and watch the sunset or boats come in with their catch of the day.

Hello and welcome to our home away from home! We are Stephen and Shelley Hesse, natives of the beautiful Emerald Coast. Stephen and I grew up in the Destin/Pensacola area. We are truly beach bunnies at heart and feel at home when we are by the ocean. We were blessed to be able to live in our cheerful condo for 2 years. We now reside in North Georgia and come to Destin often to visit our families and soak up the salty air and sun rays. When we are at our condo we love to boat, walk, fish, swim, shop, bike, read, lounge in the lazy river, and just BE in the sun (with our SPF of course!). There is nothing like the emerald waters and white sand of home. We hope that you wake up with a smile in our colorful condo and share the same joy and peace we do when we are able to get a little R&R in our cute condo.

We recently returned from our vacation at Destin West and want to go back now!! We had 4 adults and 2 toddler aged children and it was a great place to stay. The king bed in the master bedroom was so comfortable, and the bunk room and queen sleeper sofa allowed us to all easily sleep comfortably. The location was great with the views of the pool area, and the walk to the beach was very convenient. The water in the bay was nice to take a quick dip if you don't want to walk all the way to the beach. It's also a great location in relation to shops and restaurants, as the boardwalk is within walking distance. I will say thought that I was a bit annoyed by the dozens of 20-somethings that were partying at the pool Saturday and Sunday nights, making it impossible for anyone with a family to enjoy the pool or hot tubs, but the rest of the week was very pleasant. Thanks for a great trip guys, we can't wait to come back!!

This is a nice condo in a very good location. It is perfectly located between the beach and the bay. You can see the bay from the condo. The beach is a short walk over the bridge. The beach is beautiful! The condo is just as described and decorated very cute. It is very convenient to be able to walk out of the condo door straight to the pool. The grounds are very clean and kept up nice. The only complaint I would have is the lack of supplies in the condo. There were no paper towels, no garbage bags and 1 1/2 rolls of toliet paper for a week...You hate to have to run to the store while on vacation to pick up things that ought to be supplied---Other than that it was a very nice experience and the owners were very pleasant!

Exactly as advertised with everything you need to have a great time; except the family, sunscreen, and a few groceries. We loved the condo-very clean and welcoming with a super comfy king bed-and the resort had everything a family needs~ Would love to come back next year!

my family and i travel to destin every summer as i have family that live in the area-have stayed at several resorts and destin west is our fav place to stay-i have a 4 year old and my sis has 2 boys 5 and 2-they love the lazy river-the adults love it to! and the spray park with access to the ramada's pool with swim in bar just make this the best family place-condo was very nice with w&d-very well furnished, clean and beautifully decorated-had a great time and will be back for more! the kids insist on it!

Destin West Condos is a fantastic family vacation. This condo was especially great... Last year we stayed in the penthouse and although it was nice, the Lanai unit was 10 times better. With my girls I didn't have to worry about watching to see if they made it to the pool safely- just a few steps out the patio and they were in the lazy river! It was awesome. Thanks Shelley for an wonderful time!

We had a blast down there. We went through all our pictures again last night again (almost a thousand!) and concluded yet again that it was one of the most relaxing vacations we’ve had in a loooong time.We are thinking of bringing some family along next year (all of them are still in South Africa), but on the other hand, it was nice having all the time and space reserved for ourselves. Regardless, we’ll see you again next year!

The condo was very nice and exactly as pictured. Great location between Ft. Walton and Destin. Bayside had easy access to the beach via the skywalk and lazy river and pools kept the kids entertained.
