The house is suitable for children as the garden is fully enclosed, all the doors, windows and the patio are protected by metal grills and it is not near a busy road. and the pool is fenced off as a safety measure. The house is a bungalow, so accessible to those with mobility issues, although there are a few steps to the swimming pool. Babies or toddlers can sleep on the sofa bed in the huge master bedroom . An older child can sleep in the second bedroom which is 3 m away from the parents' bedroom via a safe private porch (with two steps), protected by a metal grill and not accessible from the outside. This is a double bed, so two children could share. There is also a sofa bed in the master bedroom and another one in the living room.

This is a self-catering villa. All bed linen, bath towels and poolside towels are included. We provide a thorough cleaning before and after your stay (included in the price) and toilet paper and hand wash liquid on arrival. There are many supermarkets in Orgiva, with the largest - Consum - open Mon - Sat inclusive, 9 am to 9.30 pm.

Quirky & Unusual
Orgiva is a beautiful town with fantastic views of the hills and mountains. The drive (½ km) up to the property through a narrow winding single dirt track from Orgiva is an interesting experience. A dusty journey for walkers and pushing a buggy may prove difficult as the track is very poor with loose stones. It was very dark at night (I did not notice any lighting but I would not walk it at night either) and really more suited to the sure footed. The ‘ford’ was flowing on a couple of occasions but only an inch or two deep max, so to drive through was no problem at all although a little steep both on the way in and out but access might be tricky for sports or low vehicles. The lounge, dining room and garden furniture all appeared very tired and worn and in need of replacement. With limited hanging space and no drawers at all in the master bedroom we did not unpack but lived from our cases for our 2 weeks. Although the 2nd bedroom did have a wardrobe and a very small bedside cabinet with 3 very shallow drawers it was just not practical to use the wardrobe in one room a sleep in another. The concrete steps, some quite high, (including those in the adjoining narrow area between the master bedroom and the property) are not child friendly at all or for anyone unsteady on their feet, particularly in the dark or when using the bathrooms at night. The garden and pool area are indeed very pretty but spoilt due to overgrown trees which limit the amount of sunshine to the pool, making it uncomfortably cold and reduce the available light to the property, making it appear somewhat gloomy when entering. If it is a villa with light airy rooms you seek then this property is not for you. We only used the pool and BBQ once and the lack of parking space in Orgiva caused us to drive through it mostly heading for either the mountains or the beach in both cases soaking up the summer sunshine until well into the evening. Overall we were a little dissapointed with the property but Orgiva the mountains and the beautiful resort of Almunecar I would thoroughly recommend to all.

Best Casa to Date
Having Holidayed in Orgiva on four occasions this has been our chosen accommodation for two of those stays there. We came back this year because quite simply, we have yet to find anywhere better. The walled Garden is totally secluded with some beautiful planting. Plenty of Oranges and a relaxing swinging seat on which to eat them. The pool is a good size and nice and deep. Anda has had a wrought iron fence built around the pool entrance since last we stayed which makes things safer if you have small children. Half of the holiday was just spent in the garden relaxing its so peaceful and enchanting... "You can check out any time, but you can never leave" sort of thing. Inside is well equipped and the bedroom annex seems to induce a deep peaceful sleep. The beech only takes about half an hour to get to now the roads have been improved and Orgiva has some great restaurants and bars where you can eat great food and drink great local wines (or beer in my case) for a lot less than you pay on the coast. Because of our consumption of the afore mentioned on our gourmet nights We often drove into town and took the ten minuet walk back to the Casa along the track which takes about ten minutes. The town is very Spanish, the people friendly and helpful. So too are Anda and Carmen who are always available to help with any inquiry both before and during the holiday. We love the mountains coming from Scotland so the scenery is a bit like home but without the cold winds, rain and midges. We are going back to Orgiva in October to try another of Anda's properties. Cant wait. By the way I only put pen to paper if I have positive things to say. We have stayed in some dumps all over Europe in our time but these are best left undocumented and forgotten Casa Rosada will be remembered for times to come for all the right reasons. Best spanish holiday I ever had!
Thank you for the most beautiful Spanish holiday I've ever had! Casa Rosada was the prettiest little villa I've ever been to. My boyfriend and friends all agreed we'd really lucked out! We couldn't believe our eyes when we saw our own little pink house with the lush garden and swimming pool. We had quite a few midnight swims and used it to get fit in the morning too! We used the barbecue quite a lot to cook our own meals - so much cheapier and healthier eating in Spain than in London. And the master bedroom was a total dream - never seen anything like it. We found loads to do from hiking through all the mountain villages (traces of snow on the mountain tops? Wow) to hanging out in the nice cafes, restaurants and bars in the village. Our hire car meant we could check out the old moorish architecture in Granada too, something my boyfriend has been meaning to do for some time, and somehow we even managed to find time to go down to the local beach. The locals were all really friendly and we liked how any english people we met in the cafes had all seemed to be living in Spain for some time, building their own farms with the help of the locals or working as english teachers in spanish schools - and even as massage therapists! Everyone was so lovely and it was a far cry from the nightmare of Benidorm. We're looking forward to coming back. Apparently the port that gets a ferry to Morocco is only about half an hours drive away. Okay, so we've already checked the mountains and the beach - next time we're going to stay a few more days and make it all the way to Morocco! Thanks again for a lovely time and please thank Carmen the spanish housekeeper for us for being so helpful when we were asking for things to do in the area. There's no chance of me recommending this place to my friends I'm afraid - Casa Rosada's way too nice for them. I don't want anyone else to know about it!!

The Perfect Place to Unwind
Casa Rosada is the ideal spot for a perfectly relaxing holiday; the house and gardens exceeded even the high expectations we had. The descriptions given by the owner are wholly accurate; the house is full of character, with an organic feel and yet it is comfortable and very practical. Best of all however is the beautiful - and completely private - garden. This is ideal for lazy days reading and enjoying the pool, as well as for outdoor dining. The ambience of the place is really great and marks Casa Rosada out from other properties I've hired over the years. The location of the house is also one of its strengths. It is ideally situated in a quiet spot, but it is in fact less than 1km from Orgiva which is an atmospheric place with a laid back vibe and some good places for a coffee, a drink or even a meal. Contrary to what some reviewers have indicated the road to the house is absolutely fine; it is well made and practically flat. (I for one don't go to an area like the Alpujarra to live next to a motorway!) In fact the ease of access means that the city of Granada is only 45 minutes away. It is really a great city to visit. There is good walking in the Poqueira valley - as well as more locally - and most of the villages of the Alpujarras are within 20 minutes or so drive. The whole area is stunning and worth exploring but if you check into Casa Rosada you might well find that it curtails your desire to do so since the house and garden, and Orgiva itself, are such pleasant places to while away the holiday and unwind. The house and garden are well looked after and it is clear that a lot of thought has gone into getting things right. The owner also has a local representative who speaks very good English and who meets guests in town to hand over the keys and show them round the house. She is very helpful and clearly looks after the house and garden well and is happy to be contacted should any problems arise - not that they did! I would certainly commend a stay in this house to anyone who appreciates an unspoilt, scenic environment and wants to wind down and enjoy a couple of weeks of living their sunny rural dream.
