Thick stone walls and heavy original shutters keep house cosy and private in winter and cooler in summer.Small, charming courtyard provides private sunbathing and outdoor eating in warm months and balcony has winter sun all year. Location 5 mins walk from friendly, beautiful town square with many cafes, bars etc. makes house equally suitable for summer or winter holidays and all season activities.One way street with parking outside door. Charming house is very well equipped with heating/aircon upstairs, heating and fans downstairs, all mod cons, comfortable seating outside and in, dinner table for 6 , SKY satellite tv and dvd box, has well equipped kitchen opening to both sitting room and courtyard. Further Details: Travel: Car hire is recommended but not absolutely essential as there is regular bus service to airport and Palma in summer, infrequent in winter. Palma airport is 40 minutes away, the lovely old town of Palma just 15 minutes further. The island has motorway coverage from just before the airport. Parking in street outside the house.
Beaches: within 15 mins bike ride, 7 mins car - Many consider Mallorca’s best beach to be Cala Llombards. Cala Santanyi has more tourist attractions in summer – both are within 10 minutes drive. Cala D’or with a marina, tourist shops, night spots and beaches 20 minutes away. Likewise Colonia de San Jordi – lovely seafood restaurants in the harbour in summer.
Golf: Vall D’or and Pula – respectively 20 and 50 minutes away (La Rotana and Son Servera – 9 holes closer).
NB: Easy village access and house comfort makes it equally suitable for out of season activities.

The beautiful small town of Santanyi dates from 1300 and has one of Mallorca's most impressive village squares where an excellent market is held twice weekly year round. The square is dominated by church from same date with most famous organ played during summer. The square is 5 mins walk from the house to have a drink or coffee and enjoy 'watching the people' While retaining its old charm Santanyi has become very sophisticated in recent years and provides bakeries, shops, restaurants and cafes, art galleries, ceramic workshops, antique and craft shops, boutiques and all amenities. The house is within 7 - 10 mins. drive of some of Mallorcas best beaches reached down winding country roads bordered with stone walls. Lovely walks and cycling in the area and many good restaurants in local countryside. 20 mins drive from Es Trenc beach and good golf (Val d'or). Most importantly, while having all amenties, Santanyi is as far removed from typical tourist resorts as one can imagine.

Other Activities: Shopping at market twice weekly, beautiful rural walks, sitting at charming cafes in village square and watching the world go by.

Golf: Mallorca has excellent golf courses: Val D'or 18 hole course is only 20 mins drive away and Pula only 50 mins. There are closer 9 hole courses at Son Servera and La Rotana.

About the owner: I have known and loved Mallorca all my adult life, my family spent many unbelievable happy holidays in fantastic circumstances right above the beach at Cala Llombards, my daughters learned to swim there very young and this very beautiful area of Mallorca is comfortingly in our hearts always. It is a privilege to feel we belong.

Why the Owner Chose Mallorca:
We knew this was it when the door was opened for us the first time, because it is so charming in its simplicity. Because it is absolutely perfect for our holiday needs, and all grown up we have to admit it was very nice to progress from primitive living above the beach in Cala Llombards to a bathroom. .

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Just minutes walk from the sometimes bustling Placa Major of Santanyi, it is private and hidden the minute one closes the big door shutters, while the open doors and windows to the courtyard provide a larger living space. In the summer we eat all our meals outside. In the winter when leaving the house one walks onto a street, and not out into a muddy field, and at any time, if one wants company, there are people at the friendly bars and cafes of Placa Major. Although Santanyi strongly retains its Mallorquin origins, the town has become sophisticated and cosmopolitan simutaneously with being very local. It is in a very beautiful rural region , but still only an hour from the heart of Palma. When returning from an expedition to other parts of the island, Palma or the airport, it feels so good to be back.
