The penthouse is spacious, clean, nicely decorated. The whole property is wonderfully maintained. The access to the beach is so close and easy. The pool is lovely and clean as well. So close to lots of restaurants and shopping. Would love to go back again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Destin Penthouse! The condo was everything the owner, David, said it was. The view from the balcony and master bedroom was gorgeous! Overlooking the ocean and the beautiful white sandy beach. The condo was clean and well kept. Had all the amenities we needed. Very spacious and quiet. The ice machine that others commented on, ended up to be a great extra!! David was very easy to work with and cared about making your stay all you expect it to be. We will recommend this condo to friends and expect to be back ourselves.

We had a really nice stay in this unit. . seperate icemaker, oversize refrigerator/washer/dryer were pleasant surprises. The unit has just been freshly painted. Had 2 brand new pottery barn couches that were very,very comfortable , brand new upscale sheets and lovely new towels. Decor was quite tasteful. Unit was quite clean. We definitely recommend this one...its a keeper.

What an incredible week we had in Destin!! The weather was perfect (not a drop of rain the entire week) and the condo was absolutely wonderful. It is just as advertised, clean, comfortable and with an incredible view. We really appreciated the ability to check in at noon, it really was like adding a whole day to our vacation. We hated having to leave! Thanks so much, David. We will definitely consider staying with you the next time we head to Destin.

The girls have been coming to Destin for about 20 years. This is the first time that we stayed at Gulfgate. We were not disappointed. The beach guy had to run us off the beach every night by taking our umbrella and chairs. Condo was spacious with plenty of room for everyone. We liked the large bathrooms and the laundry room. We gave the wet bar and separate ice maker a good workout. The very large fridge was also handy for storing all of our rations. The view from the balcony was great! Nice stereo with docking station and Bose speakers. Thanks for your hospitality David.

My wife and I have stayed in this condo for the last four years. It was tastefully furnished and very comfortable. Great location for entertainment and plenty of wonderful restaurants. We love the balcony overlooking the beach and really enjoyed the spectacular sunsets. Owner(David) is easy to work with and we plan to return this fall.

What else can we say? Having stayed in various condos in the Destin area over the past fifteen years, this one surpassed them all. Some of the things that were really appreciated in this unit… of course the VIEW being on the top floor of Destin Gulfgate was unsurpassed. When not at the beach, we could easily see miles of coastline as well as the turquoise waters of the Emerald Coast from our vantage point. On a couple occasions we saw dolphins playing in the surf that would have been missed from a lower unit. During one warm night it was raining yet we were still able to enjoy being outdoors under the large covered balcony – a definite plus! A couple days later, a full moon over the Gulf offered a very romantic evening for my wife and I as we sipped on wine and appreciated the quiet surroundings. In addition to being a very clean unit, some of the other pluses to mention are lots of closet space, full bathrooms and upgraded appliances such as the large refrigerator with lots of freezer space. That meant we could go shopping once for the week and enjoy eating most meals at home. And the close-by parking was a breeze – much easier than parking in one of those high-rise garages. Thanks David, we can’t wait to come back again!

A Fabulous Vacation Spot!

The condo was spacious, clean and comfortable. The view is breathtaking. We all walked in and said, "Wow!" The owner was gracious with plenty of communication. The Destin Gulfgate is so nice because it is smaller and not so crowded. The full time residents were very friendly and welcomed us. It is close to The Track, lots of restaurants and shopping. The beach is beautiful. But the view from the walkway going in was interesting, too. We could see the bay, the airport and activity on the main drag. In the unit itself, we especially loved the comfy beds, big kitchen, ice maker at the wet bar and the balcony. We saw dolphins swimming by every morning! We can't wait to visit again!

This unit far exceeded my expectations. I have rented many units over the years and often found the descriptions to be a bit "fluffed", however this one did not disappoint. The unit itself was extremely clean, offered all you need for a perfect beach get away. The location could not be any better.....a very short walk to the back porch beach bar!! Parking and access to the elevators is so easy, no huge buildings and shortages of luggage carts. I truly have nothing negative to say about the whole experience. And perhaps the best thing is the owner, David. He made us feel like family and it was obvious he really cared that we had a great time and everything we needed. I have already and will continue to recommend this to all my friends and family and will definitely return.

Perfect vacation condo

My husband and I spent a wonderful week in early Nov 2010. Over the years we have stayed in different states bordering on the Gulf of Mexico..why never in Florida? We ask ourselves this question now..and why not Destin in particular! The condo was everything we expected and more.. .the waters of the gulf begin with the emerald green color then transform into a shimmery blue as the sun bounces reflectively off the water..the tide flowing in and out...who could not escape the work a day blues left behind even for a brief reprieve..called vacation. This is one of the few times we actually remained the full length of our scheduled vacation anywhere without leaving early ..and here we were wondering "Why had we not booked this unit one week longer!". This unit is all it is represented to be..we will definetly keep this unit in our files for future rentals.

A Renter's Dream!!

In a word our stay at Gulfgate Penthouse was "incredible." Although my husband had vacationed in Destin many years ago, this was my first experience traveling to the gulf. For starters, David is one of the most gracious and accommodating owners you will ever experience and he goes the extra mile to insure your stay is all that you hope it to be and more. He is passionate about living in Destin and wants all who travel here to leave with great memories enough to bring you back. He succeeds in his attempts. We opened up the door to the condo and got one glimpse of the incredible view from the Penthouse and our jaws just dropped! It is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and breathtaking parts of our country. The unit itself is in impeccable order and condition. It is spacious,comfortable, clean and has all the upgrades and amenities you could possibly desire. The kitchen is well stocked with all the essentials and appliances. It is evident that personal care and consideration was taken while choosing decor and design especially in the artwork. The bedrooms, each with a full bath attached were comfortable, spacious and relaxing. The master bedroom opens up to a wide balcony equipped with lounge chairs, and a table and chairs for dining. Each morning we deliberately woke early just to watch the sunrise and to witness the colors of the water change as the sun rose high in the sky. It is most important to note that there was no evidence of oil spillage. We dined locally at several restaurants ordering either the "catch of the day" or the gulf shrimp. Delicious! The evenings were just as spectacular as the mornings and the rhythm of the water and the waves were so calming. A sanctuary on the 11th floor. My husband and I would highly recommend David's condo to all who love the beach. The employees in the building were friendly and welcoming. It is true southern charm at its best. This particular condo is very versatile and would be comfortable for those traveling with or without children. It is a renter's dream and easily a place we would return to in a heartbeat. Destin does not disappoint either. It has great dining, shopping and an exciting night life. It meets the needs of all ages.

We just recently stayed in this lovely condo and had a great time! We have two children and where so impressed with the spaciousness. The ceilings are very high giving you the feeling of a ton of room. The kids were able to watch TV in one room and us in the other and we all had our own space. We also appreciate the notch above linens and appliances. We felt so at home. Those little things like the over-sized washer and dryer and the separate freezer were something I had never had in a rental before. This was huge for us especially traveling with children. We were also able to sit out on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view without any noise from below. Being at the penthouse level, you are high enough to escape and really relax with a nice glass of wine. Thank you for sharing your beautiful condo and we can't wait to come back! See ya next year!!

If you are looking for a relaxing and enjoyable spacious condo to spend your vacation, THIS IS IT! David is the most gracious host you will ever find in Destin. He makes sure that your every need is met and surpassed and wants you to make the most of your stay with him. The views are unbelievable and the price and the location is perfect for a comfortable stay. The balcony was our favorite place because all 6 of us could sit outside and enjoy the view without standing on top of each other. He is just a phone call away if you have any problems at all and will take care of anything that you might feel is an issue to make sure you have a happy stay. We highly recommend this condo and the owner, Mr. David as your next personal host for the best vacation ever!!!

Perfect Romantic Getaway

Stunning luxury condominium and the perfect location for an anniversary trip with my wife. Beautifully decorated and we loved being on the top floor and enjoying the sweeping sunrise to sunset views up and down the beach. Overlooks pristine beaches in an area that is very peaceful and serene - no crowds here which is wonderful! Very romantic going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the surf from the Master Bedroom overlooking the Gulf. Full kitchen with all the comforts of home, but we didn't cook.! There are so many great and diverse restaurants close by, we were able to have a unique experience each evening - from shorts and flip flops at The Back Porch to AAA 4 Diamond dining at the famous Seagar's! We have stayed in many other condos and hotels in the area but will now always come back to this unit at Gulfgate. Will bring the kids next time! Have recommended it to all our friends and family!

The Perfect Vacation

The moment we entered this lovely unit, we knew we were in a very special place. The furnishings and decor are far superior to most beachside condos. Every thing we could possibly need was provided and it was spotless. The view is magnificent! And there was no oil to spoil our beach time! The location is perfect - we could easily walk to the beach, the pool, restaurants and other attractions. Because of the penthouse location, the unit was very quiet. At night we could hear the ocean! We will definitely plan to return to this lovely condo!

Best Condominium in Destin!

WOW, I can only sum up our stay at the Gulfgate Penthouse in one word "Amazing". We have stayed in many other places in Destin. This unit has by far the best beach access and accommodations! The decor is top notch... You have amazing views from the balcony of boats, dolphins, and an occasional school of fish with plenty of space to move around with your guests. While we were there we also took advantage of the private 42 ft. Sailing Yacht "Shaman" that the owner does a sunset cruise on. This was by far a wonderful experience; we sailed around Crab Island, back into the bay and watched the sun set, then back into the harbor to watch the fireworks. I would highly recommend staying here and paying extra for the personal sailing adventure... If you are looking for a great place to stay that is right in the heart of Destin and within walking distance from several local favorites and theme parks...I would highly recommend the "Gulfgate Penthouse" .

Having stayed in this unit many times over the past 5 years, it is our favortie place. Beautiful - comfortable- location is the best. Next to Destin's popular "Back Porch Restaurant". Always quiet and high standard of maintaing this beautiful condo. As a special treat, the "sailing trips" are awesome. Would recommend to anyone.....You will not be disappointed here.....Owner is great....

Home away from home!!!!

All on the listing are as stated. We spend 2 and sometimes 3 times a year at David's condo. We, which includes my entire family of kids, grand kids and parents have spent many wonderful weeks in Destin. We would not stay anywhere else. David is a wonderful host and his condo is the finest at Destin Gulfgate and we think it is the best in Destin. You cannot get any closer to the sand and gulf. The unit is always clean and I know that David works really hard to maintain the property in the best of conditions for all his guests. Please seriously consider this property for all your Destin dreams of sun, surf and relaxation. Lastly, it is so wonderfully located and is close to all the attractions in Destin, although, we always think the beach is the best place to vacation whether it is March, July or October.
