Privately owned home in the Sawgrass Bluff area of Fripp Island.
The Sawgrass Bluff area is located on the marsh side of Fripp Island. It is a subtropical wooded area about a ten minute walk or a five minute ride to the beach in our complimentary golf cart.
When you look out our windows from the living area, you see palms and a lagoon, not another house next door. Residents and guests of this area have free access to a shared private swimming pool with restrooms and change areas all accessible via an electronic pool card.
Adjoining the pool area is a small playground complete with a tree house, slide and swings. While the pool is just behind the house, it is far enough away not to bother your quietness.
Our renters also have access to a private crabbing dock extending into the marsh. This is a great place to catch crabs, fish, shrimp, or just sit and watch the wonders of marsh life or catch a fantastic sunset.
You can sit on our screened porch early in the morning and enjoy your breakfast among the beauty of nature without the press of humanity around you - or, perhaps catch a quite nap on one of our lounges. We also have a sundeck for sunbathing in the privacy of our home instead of traveling to the beach.
Our complimentary golf cart is provided for use of LICENSED DRIVERS ONLY. This cart allows you to slowdown, leave the car behind, and tour the island from end to end counting deer roaming on the island or hunting for an alligator in the lagoons along the roadways.
Beach access is assured as each road leading from the main road to the beach has public access. In order that you enjoy your stay, we provide beach umbrellas,surf floats,and sand chairs so you don't have to pack them. We also have a charcol grill should you desire to use it.
Whether you are looking for a quite place to read and refresh your spirit or a life style that is set up for family togetherness, Fripp Island offers a respite from the everyday routines of life.
SPECIAL NOTE CONCERNING AMENITY CARDS
Fripp Island has a somewhat unusual situation as far as access to the Resort owned amenities such as the resort pools, restaurants, tennis courts, etc. not located within the Sawgrass housing area. If the home owner from whom you rent is a member of the Resort Club, you, as a renter can buy amemity cards ($50 per person over the age of 12 per week) which gives you access to the Resort pools, etc. and enables you to spend your money in the Resort restaurants. WE NO LONGER ARE MEMBERS OF THIS CLUB SO THOSE WHO RENT FROM US CANNOT PURCHASE THESE CARDS. I would quickly point out that the area in which our property is located has a private pool and crabbing dock, available only to those owners and guests within the Sawgrass area. We find that many of our guests want to come to Fripp and enjoy the ocean, the private pool, and either cook in or eat in the restaurants close by off island. Many of our guests tell us that they may use the cards once or twice during the week but often on return visits do not purchase the cards simply because they feel that the pools are crowded and the restaurants are more expensive than they would like. DUE TO THIS, WE NO LONGER HAVE CARD PURCHASE AVAILABLE BUT HAVE REDUCED OUR RENTAL RATE TO COMPENSATE. We have reduced our weekly rates by $100 per week. We feel that a lower rate in a clean rental unit with access to a pool which is seldom crowded, a complimentary golf cart, internet access, and in a quite setting is more attractive to many.
You will find our kitchen well supplied with appliances and the necessary items to enable your full dining and cooking pleasures.
We have installed high speed internet (DSL)in our unit so you can keep up to date with all your contacts with hook up via an ethernet cable. We have an answering machine to catch all our your missed calls and all the electronic devices that we have gotten used to having.
You can park under our home and still have off street parking for three cars or perhaps you may bring your boat along.
Sleeping arrangements are as follows: Master Bedroom, queen, Bedroom #2, queen, Bedroom #3, full. The master bedroom has sufficient space that a blow up mattress could be used for sleeping children.
Our island is near historic Beaufort South Carolina with its historical tours and many eating establishments.
Once you have enjoyed the unspoiled life style of Fripp Island, walking the uncrowded beach where loggerhead turtles come to nest, you will wonder why you ever went anywhere else to get away from it all. Remember, vacations at the beach form memories that last forever.

Why the Owner Chose Sawgrass
We chose the Sawgrass area of Fripp Island due to its location. Our home is located on a circle at the end of Salt Cedar Lane. This makes it a quite location with little traffic. Our property has double drive ways so we offer ample parking for multiple vehicles.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Perhaps one of the most attractive parts of renting our property is that a complimentary golf cart is provided with the rental ($260 to rent for a week) and free access to the Sawgrass pool makes it possible to come to Fripp and be able to use a pool without having to buy an amenity card ($50 per week for all over the age of 12) Sawgrass is a quite part of the island. There is a home owners association in the development who own and maintain a private swimming pool and crabbing dock. The pool is a great advantage as the other pools on the island are often crowded during the vacation season. The crabbing dock offers the opportunity to crab, cast for shrimp, fish, or just to sit in the silence of the marsh and watch the sun go down.

Fripp is such an unusual place that in 1997 we decided to build our home on the island. We live in Ohio between Cincinnati and Dayton and Fripp is such a contrast to our home that we always look forward to our "island time". We have 6 grandchildren who look upon Fripp with memories of great beach time and riding the golf cart around the island. As we use the home quite a bit ourselves, we keep it in great shape. It is well stocked and clean. We love to talk with anyone considering our home for rental and tell them about not only the home but about the island and what it has to offer.
