Our family had a great time at The Pikake! The condo complex is very small and private with beautiful ocean views and just steps from the water. We really enjoyed swimming right in front of the condo with the large sea turtles. The location is walking distance to several small shops and restaurants and a short drive to Lahaina Town The owner July is also very helpful by recommending nearby restaurants and amenities. Great place to enjoy a family vacation!

Our family had a wonderful time in Maui, and your unit was spectacular. The turtles came every day, and they were so relaxing to watch. Snorkeling at the bay by Gazebo and further up the coast was spectacular; we shouldn't have wasted the $$ on Molokini trip, in my opinion. John and Vi are very nice; they gave us some restaurant recommendations. The wished I had known about the Costco near the airport; by the time we read the guest book and found out about it was too late. The unit is lovely, and suited our family of 4 nicely.

Hello July, thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise with us. We had a wunderful week in your condo. We watched the turtles near the beach went swiming and loved to see the sunset every day. Aloha, My wife and two teen boys really liked this clean unit and what the area had to offer! There was more than ample room for the 4 of us including vaulted ceiling and 3 TVs. The views included whales, turtles and a nice clean beach. The nightly BBQs with conch blowing really added to our enjoyment! The Farmers market, short drive to Lahaina and several good restaurants all added to a great stay. The other condo folks were friendly, a real nice atmosphere!

The condo was enjoyable. The views were amazing, saw lots of turtles right out the balcony, and the access to the grocery store, farmers market and small shops were in walking distance. Parking was never an issue to find a spot. Location was excellent for us. We brought our 1 year old son and the water there was calm for him to play on the small but private beach access. He loved it and we loved the privacy! Only downfall was the balcony is not safe for a baby with the large balcony openings so we couldn't spend much time out on the Lani. Cleanliness was okay, but we noticed the floors and fridge needing attention. Our son constantly had noticeably filthy clothes from crawling on the floor. Nothing a good bottle of murphy's soap and spring cleaning couldn't fix though. I also had some trouble sleeping at night as the bedroom was in the back of the condo by the street. You can hear the traffic and talking from neighbors, but as soon as the quiet time hours were in effect, things settled down around 10pm/11pm. The condo does not have A/C and in the afternoons it does get much warmer in the house. If cooking, this can get hot in the condo. But nothing a dip in the ocean can't cool off. We very much enjoyed our stay here. We thought the location was great! Mahalo
Owner response:Maui, like all Hawaiian Islands, is known for their "red dirt" which can collect over time on floors & countertops. Especially if you keep doors open. Screens do a pretty good job of keeping it out, but it still gets through. I clean the countertops every afternoon when I'm visiting, and always see a litle reddish/brown residue on the cleaning cloth. Same thing happens with the floor. I usually use a swiffer once in the afternoon, and all is good. This is the #1 reason why I do not have carpeting. I couldn't even imagine the amount of red dirt that must get stuck in carpets. ugh. I don't have any children, so I guess I never thought of anyone crawling around on the floors. I could totally see how a child could get some marks on their knee caps... About the fridge, because we are on Maui, the air is very salty from the water, so things tend to rust very fast. There are a few rust marks on the fridge, which some people mistake for dirt. I will definitely get black appliances next time instead of white. Glad you enjoyed your stay, July Benson

Mahalo for a great week at the Pikake! We took the ferry over from Oahu, along with my mom who was in from Virgina. The whales put on incredible daily shows- we had front row seats from the lanai! We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets and great swimming right in front of the condo, along with the sea turtles! The loft was a great spot, falling asleep to the sounds of the Pacific Ocean was a highlight! The condo is in a perfect spot, close to many markets and restaurants- we had more than a few take out dinners that we enjoyed on the lanai as the sun set and the very friendly neighbors blew the conch shells! The owners were very friendly and a wealth of Maui knowledge! We highly recommend this condo and hope to get back to it!

We got back to Seattle last Tuesday, early morning before sunrise. It was freezing cold, especially after having temperatures in the high 80s for a week. We think Maui is an exceptional place to stay, it was marvelous. We really liked staying in your condo, we slept very good, although we had to get used to the noise of the breaking waves at night. What a noise! We particularly enjoyed having breakfast on the lanai and watch the whales playing. Sometimes they came so close, that we could even see them without the binoculars. Wonderful animals. The kids loved the lawn and the beach. We explored the island and found wonderful places, beaches, and many other things, and we already plan to come back next year.

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas vacation at The Pikake. You can't beat the waterfront location with morning coffee and evening dinners on the lanai. The private sandy beach with excellent snorkelling on the reef is an added bonus. The condo is clean, quiet, and has everything you need to feel right at home, including free high-speed internet. The neighbours are friendly and the location is within walking distance to a farmer's market, coffee bar, shopping centre, and snorkle/boogie board rentals. The owner is also very helpful by recommending nearby restaurants and amenities. This was our second trip to Maui and this will be our preferred condo on our next trip back.

The Pikake is Maui's best kept secret! There is no place we'd rather stay than this small condo. We loved the quiet (all we could hear was the ocean waves), the beautiful beach (much of the time we had it to ourselves), the amazing view from our lanai (you are just yards from the ocean and can watch whales, sea turtles, incredible sunsets and full moons right from your porch as you eat breakfast or dinner), and the convenience (this condo has everything you'll need and is within two-minutes walk of a fantastic Farmer's Market, health food store with salad bar and hot bar, other restaurants and stores, coffee shop, snorkle/boogie-board rental, etc.). Other residents at the condo are super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a condo potluck out on the lawn on St. Patrick's Day. We did some wandering around during our week in Maui, but our best times were spent right here at this condo, enjoying the sun, the quiet beach, great neighbors, and swimming and snorkeling in the Pacific. The water is both fun and warm...you won't need a boring pool. You also will not need air conditioning; the ceiling fans and trade winds keep you very comfortable (and I am from Alaska and don't like to roast!). Kids will get a kick out of the geckos and lizards on the plants by the parking lot. What are you waiting for!

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!! Breathtaking views of Molokai and Lana'i...Third time staying here in this condo, wouldn't stay anywhere else! Immaculate, close to Front street..in between 2 major golf courses(Ka'anapali & Kapalua) Walked the beach to Black Rock every morning(2.9 miles)Enjoyed watching the turtles and whales while eating breakfast on the lanai. All amenities at your fingertips! All the comforts of home. You will not want to stay anywhere else!Aloha!

Wonderful Holiday stay. The condo was great, the photos only begin to show how beautiful this location is. Relax on your private Lanai and watch the sunset. Sleep with the sound of quiet ocean waves lapping on the private beach. We snorkeled right off our beach (25 feet away) and saw turtles and wonderful tropical fish. My wife, myself and our two girls age 11 and 16 had a great family holiday. Lots to do so close, look no farther for accommodation. A couple live in the same complex and were available for all our questions and the on site laundry room has tons of brochures for island activities. We are returning to Maui in May 2009 for another wedding and can't wait. We had lots of food left over and shared it with the neighbors, Wonderful people... aloha Dave & Tammy

Wow, This place is so great!! The condo is in just the right location. Not far from all of the big activities you will want to experience, but so quiet and private you will enjoy all the relaxing ocean waves and sunsets you need. We loved whale watching and the occational turtle coming by to wave at us from the lani. Snorkleing was one of our favorite activities and my girls could go anytime and I could watch form the Lani. Fantastic vacation and we are already planning to go back. Thanks for the opportunity to rent your place and making it so comfortable. One thing I learned, Don't over pack next time!! you definately have it all.

All my life I have heard that Maui is the best vacation resort desination. Now that I have been blessed with the opprtunity to visit I am even more greatful that I had an opportunity to stay at the Pikake. What a breath taking view! The whales, dolfins and turtles are amazing. Falling asleep in the loft listening to the ocean waves crash against the rocks against the blue moon lite sky is a memory that will stay with me for a life time. The condo is kept in excellent condition and the owners have thought of everything!!! Thank you for memories of a life time!

What a memorable vacation we had in Maui! We enjoyed our stay in the Pikake place "to da max." This place has every thing: clean rooms with fitting furniture and decorations, awesome view of the ocean and islands, amazing sunset, a naturally secluded calm beach, easy access to each unit, and very friendly people. We are coming back, definitely.

Wow what an amazing vacation, Maui is absolut heaven and the accomodations were fantastic. It was so wonderful to just be able to kick back and relax in our own space and be directly on the beach. I fell asleep to the sound of the crashing waves every night and awoke to an incredible surise every morning... as far as vacation spots go this one was bliss!!

This was our second stay in Maui. The first being at the Sheraton Black Rock. We enjoyed the Pikake better! To be any closer to the water-you would actually be in the surf. A quiet building with with friendly neighbors and hosts. Definately a must stay!!!!

Absolutely beautiful spot a few steps from the ocean. You go to sleep at night to the soothing sounds of the ocean. It doesn't get any better than that. Minutes from K'anapali Beach, Lahaina, which both offer many fun places to shop, great restaurants and the beaches at K'anapali are beautiful also. The condo itself is well equipped with everyting you may need and of course sitting on the lanai affords you the most beautiful view of the ocean and mountains you may ever see. I loved it there.

Our best stay in HI yet.Absolutly IMMACULATE and great beds!Insane view.Can't get any closer to the water.Awesome snorkling, turtles are a must see.Stay here, book a day at the Ritz spa and you have had it all. Great coffee shop and farmers market a short walk away.Can't say enough .A+++++

This property is a dream place for anyone lucky enough to stay. We were able to view the whales everyday and just to sit on the balcony and look at the view is a blessing. The condo is very nicely furnished, clean, and very accessible to all activities. We stayed l0 nights, and wished it was 10 weeks. All of the neighbors were friendly and welcoming. The ocean is in the back yard! Gorgeous place, centrally located, minutes from Lahaina, modern, nice neighbors, and large, comfortable condo with a great deck to watch the sunset. Owners are very easy to deal with and only wanted us to have a very enjoyable stay! Ideal for any type of vacation for any length! We hope to come again!!

Staying at the condo in Maui was a wonderful, relaxing vacation. Nothing beats just walking back into the condo from the beach if you need a drink and not having to pack up all your beach gear and food for the day. The condo is beautiful and I really enjoyed listening to the waves as I slept.
