Superb oceanfront home in an exceptionally quiet Fripp neighborhood (and yet only minutes from the Beach Club pools, tennis, fitness center and dining) with spectacular oceanfront views from the upstairs living room, master bedroom, screened porch, deck, kitchen and dining areas! Just a 3 minute walk over the dunes along your private pathway, to the glorious wide beach where you can enjoy swimming, walking, wading, castle building, shelling, birding, fishing, and even biking on Fripp’s firm sand.
Built to foster family reunions and accommodate multiple families while preserving privacy, previous renters rave about our house: "Happiest house we have ever been in--will definitely be back…Yours is the best designed, most comfortable beach house we have rented." Our “Happy House” boasts two decks and a screened porch, all Oceanside, for outdoor living and dining. The updated kitchen is furnished with every possible cooking and dining need (if you don’t find it, ask!). All rooms have been freshly and colorfully painted and decorated. “Happy House” rental includes a 2 car attached covered garage, free high speed wireless internet access, free unlimited long distance calling within the Continental U.S., Cable TV w/DVD in both living rooms, Tivo upstairs, VCR downstairs, wood burning fireplace, Weber grill, outside shower, sand chairs for the beach and beach towels.
Accommodations: On the upper level overlooking the ocean, there is a large screened porch with hammock and outdoor dining as well as a deck complete with lounge chairs. Inside you will find a master bedroom (with king bed) and bath with spectacular ocean views, a second bedroom (with queen bed) and its own bathroom, a spacious living room, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. On the garden level, there is another large living room complete with TV, DVD, and VCR, comfortable sofas (one can be made into a queen bed) and a game table. Two additional bedrooms (with king beds) share a newly renovated bathroom on the garden level. Each garden level bedroom has sliding glass doors leading out to a very private garden level patio with views of the dunes leading to the ocean. A two car garage is off of the garden level foyer.
Fripp Island is 3 1/2 miles long ensuring that all amentities are close. Paved bicycle, skating or jogging trails traverse the island. Wildlife is abundant. Deer, raccoons, herons, egrets, ospreys and alligators are common sights. Loggerhead turtles lay many nests on Fripp each year. Nature centers on Fripp and nearby Hunting Island provide hours of enjoyable activities on the beaches, in the forests or marshes.
There are two golf courses located on Fripp. Ocean Creek Golf Course designed by 1997 PGA Champion Davis Love, III (par 71, 6629 yard) has won design honors from GOLF MAGAZINE and THE GOLFER. Ocean Point Golf Links designed by George W. Cobb (par 71, 6556 yard) is a links-style course where the land meets the sea. South Carolina National Golf Club on nearby Cat Island can also be accessed by our guests.
There is Camp Fripp for the kids to get away from the parents for a couple of hours during the day for them to take in other activities, meet other kids and give Mom and Dad a chance to relax.
Hollywood has discovered Fripp Island to be fascinating as well. The Ocean Creek and Tidal Marsh areas of Fripp were used as film sets for both FOREST GUMP and Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK! PRINCE OF TIDES was shot in part on Fripp Island and if you look closely, you'll see a scene from our deck!
