Superb oceanfront home in quiet neighborhood has a spectacular view of the ocean from almost every room, is totally equipped including free DSL, and is sure to become your family's favorite beach destination. There is always a wide beach - even at high tide. Our home was built to foster family reunions, accommodate multiple families while preserving privacy. Accommodations: 4 large bedrooms (one king and one queen on upper level and two kings on garden level), three baths, two spacious livingrooms (one with a sleep sofa), kitchen, dining room, large screened porch with hammock and outdoor dining, utility room, garage, 2 large patios with lounge chairs.
There is a TV in both the upstairs and garden level living rooms. There is TiVo to record your favorite program while you're playing golf, or on the beach. VCR and DVD are garden level so the kids can play and watch while the grown-ups enjoy drinks in the upstairs livingroom or sit on the deck or screened porch and catch the sunset, or at night watch for beautiful stars while listening to the ocean waves and the breeze in the palmetto trees.
Fripp Island is 3 1/2 miles long ensuring that all amentities are close. Paved bicycle, skating or jogging trails traverse the island. Wildlife is abundant. Deer, raccoons, herons, egrets, ospreys and alligators are common sights. Loggerhead turtles lay many nests on Fripp each year. Nature centers on Fripp and nearby Hunting Island provide hours of enjoyable activities on the beaches, in the forests or marshes.
There are two golf courses located on Fripp. Ocean Creek Golf Course designed by 1997 PGA Champion Davis Love, III (par 71, 6629 yard) has won design honors from GOLF MAGAZINE and THE GOLFER. Ocean Point Golf Links designed by George W. Cobb (par 71, 6556 yard) is a links-style course where the land meets the sea. South Carolina National Golf Club on nearby Cat Island can also be accessed by our guests.
There is Camp Fripp for the kids to get away from the parents for a couple of hours during the day for them to take in other activities, meet other kids and give Mom and Dad a chance to relax.
Hollywood has discovered Fripp Island to be fascinating as well. The Ocean Creek and Tidal Marsh areas of Fripp were used as film sets for both FOREST GUMP and Disney's THE JUNGLE BOOK! PRINCE OF TIDES was shot in part on Fripp Island and if you look closely, you'll see a scene from our deck!
