The non-smoking home is on a secluded, wooded ten-acre tract one mile from the entrance to the Slick Rock Mountain development and a five-minute walk from the lake.
It has a rustic exterior that blends with the natural environment, and there is a good view of nearby mountains from the living room and porch.
The two-story plan of the home, with two bedrooms and one bathroom both up and downstairs, is well suited for a large family or two small families. The home is tastefully but functionally decorated, and the premises are clean and well maintained.
Slick Rock Mountain is a 600-acre development of vacation homes near Brevard, NC, between the Smoky and Blue Ridge Mountains. The development focuses on family use, privacy, and preservation of the area in its natural state.
A small lake with picnic facilities is maintained for swimming, fishing and picnicking, and the development's gravel roads are kept in good repair. Otherwise, efforts are made to minimize development and maximize privacy in a heavily wooded, natural outdoor setting.
Slick Rock Mountain is about a 15-minute drive from Brevard, a charming resort town with a wide array of activities, including music, pubs, movies and antiquing. Asheville (with its lively arts, culinary and cultural scene, and classic Minor League baseball ballpark) and Hendersonville are about 35-45 minutes away; Greenville, SC is one hour away.
The area enjoys moderate weather all year. Summer lows are in the 50-63 degree range, with highs of about 75-85 degrees. Winters are mild in comparison with other mountain areas of North Carolina, with temperatures only occasionally dropping below ten degrees and moderate amounts of snowfall in most years. Elevation is about 3,000-3,750 feet above sea level.

Space - View - Accommodations - Location ... this is the place!

Our family of nine (us, our son, daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandchildren) thoroughly enjoyed the accommodations at this rental. The sleeping arrangement was excellent (two bedrooms upstairs, two bedrooms downstairs), Both floors have ample sitting space inside as well as a screened in porch on each level. This rental was well-equipped with dishes, linens, and cleaning supplies. The property was neat and clean. The view off of the back porch is stunning (as pictured in the listing). The communication and rental transactions were seamless (and quite friendly!). Brevard is one of those places that draws you back again and again. We're in this area every July 4th holiday with family. There are some excellent golf courses only 10 minutes away from the rental (Connestee Falls and Sherwood Forest). Downtown Brevard has many special shopping experiences, including the unique selection at the White Squirrel, a classic soda shop (Bullwinkle's) and the coolest toy store on the planet (O.P. Taylor's). And of course you are only 20-25 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway that takes you into Pisgah Forest with all its trails and waterfalls to explore. So many choices all within an easy drive from your hideaway rental in the mountains. We will be back!
