Kuau Inn is a classic plantation-style house built in 1928 in the beach neighborhood of Kuau. We are conveniently one mile from Historic Paia Town where there is a wonderful diversity of restaurants, shops and galleries.
We are at the foot of magnificent Haleakala Crater. Our sea level climate is usually about 80 and sunny, kept cool by the trade winds.
Maui’s north shore area has beautiful beaches, and we are a ten minute walk to the world-class beach, Ho’okipa. Kuau is a casual, friendly village. Mama’s Fish House, Maui’s famous and outstanding island cuisine restaurant is a stroll away. Kuau Mart is across the street selling cold drinks, hot food and snacks from the very friendly store keepers.
We recently refurbished this wonderful treasure of a house. It is a six bed room, two story house, large and roomy. For guests we offer two bedrooms upstairs with ocean and mountain views. They share a lovely bathroom with a bathtub.
These rooms have cable TV and telephones. Downstairs there are two bedrooms; one queen bedroom and a twin bedroom. All rooms have quality linens and towels. There are two bathrooms downstairs.
We have a beautiful, large living room and a pleasant day room, which together make the common area spacious and comfortable. We have a broadband connection for guest’s use and cable channels and a portfolio of DVDs and flatscreen TV. We have a sound system inside and out. We also have two washer and dryers. We clean the house daily to keep it sparkling.
The kitchen is good size, fully equipped for cooking and entertaining, complete with toaster, microwave, coffee maker, blender, food processor etc. There are three refrigerators, one in the kitchen and one on the party patio for beverages and guests’ groceries.
The party patio is where the gang can hangout in the converted garage, local style, watching the sun go down around the barbecue with the music turned up. The house is surrounded by tropical landscaping, a banana patch, fruit trees and a large back yard for playing and sunbathing.
Kuau Inn is owned and operated by locals who hope visitors will relax and enjoy the island lifestyle the way we do. Healthy breakfast is included.
We provide an assortment of fruit, breads and bagels, cereals, milk, juice, teas and coffee. Guests may help themselves to breakfast whenever they please. Kuau Inn has an informal and pleasantly social atmosphere.
