8297 Solon Park Road, Cedar,Michigan, 49621. This wonderful cottage is located on the southwest side of beautiful South Lake Leelanau. This is an all-sports lake with great fishing, water sports, and sightseeing. You can explore more than 20 miles of shoreline, visit North Lake Leelanau, or dock your boat in the quaint town of Leland and shop in "Fishtown". Rental of the cottage includes free use of our boat hoist while you are here.
The cottage is located on a small access road called Solon Park Road, which is about three miles north of the town of Cedar. It is a two-story house with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bedrooms are all upstairs, and one full bath upstairs, and one full bath downstairs. The lake area in front of the cottage is beautiful, with about a two-mile expanse across the lake.
The cottage is directly on the lake (there is no road between the cottage and the lake) and the water is about 80 feet from the cottage. Large trees at the water's edge provide cool shade on sumer days. The lake bottom is sandy, with a very gradual drop off (about three-feet deep at 100 feet from shore). The shoreline is grass up to water's edge.
The kitchen is fully equipped including microwave and coffee maker. You will need to bring all bedding and towels (blankets are provided).
There is a dock for sun bathing and swimming, and a rowboat with oars at the site as well for your enjoyment.
As for the beds, there is a queen and a pull out couch in the master, a full size bed in each of the other two bedrooms, and a pull out couch in the family room (that's a total of 1 queen and 4 full size beds).
The rental cost will be per week (see below for specifics), plus $80 cleaning fee (We pass this fee along to our cleaning service).
Please, no smoking and no pets. 8 person maximum (including children).
Check in will be Saturday after 4:00 PM, check out is Saturday before 11:00 am. $250 reserves your week(s).

Why the Owner Chose Traverse City
We have both always loved the Traverse City area and have been coming here since the late 70's, when we were newly married. We can say,it is truly "in our blood"! We love everything about Lake Leelanau and the Traverse City area. Joe loves the boating, fishing and nearby tennis and Sue loves the relaxing, sightseeing, and visiting the quaint towns. Our 3 sons have grown up coming here on vacation and love the sand dunes and especially the water-sports.
During the summer, Sue will be at our other cottage across the lake from this one--about 4 miles by boat or 15 miles by car. She would be happy to help out in any way possible during your stay.

This cottage is a perfect place for a family vacation. It's got a great porch, big backyard, a dock and boat hoist, a lovely view. When you step inside, you find the lower level perfectly suited for a family gathering. A large open room greets you though the sliding door that comes in from the porch. There's a fully equipped kitchen with an island and bar stools. It was chilly when we were there so it's where I liked to sit drinking coffee looking out at Lake Leelanau (if it was warm, I would have been out on the porch!) There's a big dining room table and a family room with a wood stove. It's cozy and comfortable. There's lots of room in the three bedrooms upstairs and places to shower both up and down. The location of this cottage is centrally located to explore the entire area from the Sleeping Bear Dunes to Traverse City and all of the wonderful harbor towns. We are looking forward to another stay this summer, hopefully longer this time!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.
