Fantastic Beach Getaway!

Guest: Kack (Seattle, WA)
Date of Stay: 02/19/12 Review Submitted: 03/25/12

Our family had a wonderful vacation! We have 2 children, 4 and 7, and this was a perfect spot. The house was clean and full of things for the kids (games, books, movies). We enjoyed cooking in the large kitchen and spent a lot of time hanging out there. Very comfortable. We got up each morning and walked the 2 minutes to a gorgeous, almost private beach. Greg provides boogie boards and other toys, so we didn't need to buy anything. The kids had a blast, first staying in the shallow, mini ocean "pool" protected by coral and then venturing into the more wavy part of the beach. The North part of the island provides many great areas for exploration. Overall, a wonderful time! We hope to be back again!

Wonderful place to stay

Guest: Cindy (Lehi, UT)
Date of Stay: 02/11/12 Review Submitted: 02/23/12

We loved staying at Greg's Hale. We stay in a lot of VRBO places, and it was one of the best ones. Greg has thought of everything, from a little stool for kids to stand on in the bathroom, to motion lights in the yard for when you come home after dark. The beach, just steps away, is such a beautiful and fun beach. The kids love the tide pools and there is a rope swim down the beach. We loved the outside patio and spent a lot of time out there. The market is just down the street, which made it so convenient. We loved our vacation!

We loved our stay here while in Hawaii! The place was very clean and the house really was stocked with anything you might need and more. My kids(age 6-11) loved the beach and how close it was. I loved the shower and washer and dryer to get the sand off and keep it out of the house! We were very happy and would love to stay there again. FYI- Papa Ole's Restaurant in the shopping center just down the street make the best banana pancakes!

Great house and GIGANTIC kitchen!

Date of Stay: 01/11/12 Review Submitted: 01/31/12

Me, my boyfriend and a friend had a great stay in this charming little cottage. We like this area of the North Shore since it's pretty sleepy, and the house itself is also quiet and nice. It is quite literally steps from a lovely beach. Some of my favorite things about the house: - the koi pond in the front yard - the full washer and dryer :-) - the free high-speed Internet - comfortable beds, great A/Cs to keep things cool - free beach stuff (boogie boards, snorkel gear, etc.) - a huge, huge, huge kitchen with every kind of pot, pan, kitchen tool and dishware you can imagine (& BBQ grill out on the patio)... we made dinner on two different nights and there was plenty of room for all 3 of us to work in the kitchen Even though the house is close to the main highway, it's insulated with foliage and a fence so you don't really hear anything (and the bedrooms are in the back of the house, even further away from the road). Very close to the yummy shrimp trucks, too :-)

Beautiful Beach!

Guest: Keriann O. (-)
Date of Stay: 12/26/11 Review Submitted: 01/19/12

Our family had a great time at this beach house where we could walk to a beautiful beach that our kids loved. We're from Hawaii and we felt like we found a special beach that not many locals know about. Right down the lane is a private access to a beach with two natural pools where the kids caught fish (bring your fish nets) and could climb the reef. The reef calmed most of the waves creating a calm and safe "natural pool". There were a lot of fish (bring your snorkels) and sand crabs. The location was great near grocery stores and local restaurants (Tita's Grill across from Kahuku High was our favorite!) and the garden and outdoor eating area was great for our family. I recommend staying at this beach house and hope to stay here again!

The accommodations were wonderful they were exactly as described. This place had everything that was needed for an enjoyable stay, wonderful views, clean, lots of extras (wifi, washer, dryer). The ocean is just a couple of minutes away and the rental was conveniently located by a supermarket and some good eating. I never had to worry about anything from my initial inquiry to checkout. The owner was very friendly and very timely with all my inquiries. This was a great place to stay and I will definitely stay here again.

My Brother and I were for the first time in the US and ofcourse we have chosen Hawaii as Sea Lover and Body Boarders. The Greg Rental was very well located close to North Shore and it was for us a drive away to the Sea and best world spots. Rental is good and well furnished, I would however recommend the owner to check on the AC and have something bit more modern like a split unit... anyway we didnot use them much. As well a little upgrade of surfing gears would be welcome...anyway I leave my board there so I started it! All commodities, supermarket are very close by, we really loved Hawaii and recommend to go there for great vacation and relaxed time! My brother and I recommend the local Kona Brewery delights... best ever! Merci Greg OS! Excellent time and Aloha!

Clean, Nice and Relaxing

This is a great house to stay in. It is the second time that we have stayed in one of Greg's houses. They have always been clean and well kept. The Kitchen is GREAT - - its so big! On the downside having one bathroom is a little hard with a big group. The outside shower is helpful for rinsing off the sand. Being right next to the road and hearing the traffic not so nice, but if you are from the city it is easy to ignor. The yard is so beautiful and peaceful. Close to the Polynesian Culture Center, BYU and Pounders Beach is fun for Boogie Boarding (rough water though not good for little ones). Our boys enjoyed the beach at the end of the lane too. We would recommend this house. We hope to come back again. Thanks Greg!

Our First Family Vacation in Hawaii

Guest: SF Family (San Francisco Bay Area)
Date of Stay: 05/31/11 Review Submitted: 07/21/11

Our stay at Beach Lane Hale was perfect, despite the rain and thunder storms which caused a short power outage. The house was immaculate when we arrived and we felt right at home. The kitchen is huge. Our kids enjoyed eating at the counter and watching us cook. The house had everything we needed, including beach toys for the kids. The location was great because the neighborhood is calm and quiet, just how we like it. It's a few minutes drive to the Polynesian Cultural and just a little further, Turtle Bay. The private beach yards away was nice and quiet and we pretty much had the whole beach to ourselves. The house is right next to the main highway and you can hear cars driving by but it wasn't bothersome and didn't keep us awake at night. Greg was extremely helpful and was always there to answer any questions we had. We would definitely stay there again next time we visit Oahu.

Windward Home Base

Date of Stay: 03/08/10 Review Submitted: 03/23/10

We had 5 in our family and it fit us perfectly. We were after the "non-tourist" exeprience and this was a great place to do things at your own tempo. The rental is well kept and in great shape. The beach near the rental is amazing! The Kitchen is very nice... One trip to Costco when we landed and we were set for the week. (There are just not that many retail eateries Windward or Northshore!) Only annoyance (besides the requisite Hawaii Roosters) is that the highway is right next to the rental. Traffice noise stops about 11PM and starts 6AM. But being from the mainland... you'll be awake by 6AM anyway (trust me....) so it was really not a big deal. It took a couple of tries to find the place, and navigation software is pretty hinky in Hawaii, so map it out and trust Greg's instructions! Thanks for the great vacation Greg!

The location was fantastic! It was so nice and clean and well located. Our two kids loved having the games for our short indoor down time. The kitchen was lovely and we enjoyed making our own dinners and packing lunches. It saved us time and money. The beach was a short walk, but a little further away than we had been explained. Still not a big walk. Having beach towels, toys and boogie boards available was great for us. We tried things we may not have. Overall, we had the best time and cannot wait to go back! Thanks Greg

Beach Lane Hale worked great for our family vacation. We especially appreciated the lovely yard and outside seating for dinner every night! The very short walk to the beach made hauling two young kids and all their beach stuff a lot easier. The house was in perfect shape and the kitchen had obviously been remodeled recently with big groups in mind!

After the first time staying at this property back in November 2007, we made ourselves a promise that when we returned to Hawaii, we would stay here again. Just like the first time, our trip in May 2009 did not disappoint. Everything we needed for our 2 week stay was already provided by the Rentor and if we needed something special, there are facilities just a few minutes drive away. Although it can get quite noisy at times because of the street just on the other side of the fence, who cares?! You're in paradise! We will definitely choose this property again for a third, fourth, fifth... visit!

We spent more than two weeks in Beach Lane Hale in March 2009. It is a great, clean place with an amazing kitchen. As we traveled for longer time, and stayed in different places and different houses-condos-apartments, I can tell what is a great house! Beach Lane hale is surely one of them. The beach starts about hundred steps away, and there are two miles of it. Great sandy beaches with a variety of options from snorkeling to body boarding, but only a couple of people use it daily. We went there with our body-boards and beach towels – part of the supply from Greg – and had great times. After it we did not use the shower at the beach park, but the one at the back of our home with hot water. What a convenient way to get rid of the sand outside! The kitchen was equipped well, and really nice. It felt good not going out. The bathroom has shower, big enough for two. The bedrooms have proper sizes, and the wardrobe spaces are quite big. We have enjoyed the books, DVDs, and my son liked the GameCube very much. Well, you may picture for yourself, the house is great to stay in. Two things are only less enjoyable: the road is noisy, which makes the sitting in the garden or at the lanai not so good. The other is the one our drive from Honolulu, Kailua – so we tried not to travel much. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to get away from the noise of Waikiki, and want to have fun on one of the best beaches on the Winward side

We LOVED our week at the beach lane hale! What a perfect house to accommodate a family of eight! It had everything we needed --- even exceded our expectations! We loved the proximity to the PCC, beaches, hiking, touring, grocery store (with the nicest people). Who would want to stay in a hotel in the crowded city? We accomplished a lot of touring and still came home feeling refreshed. The private beach at the end of the lane is very nice --- we enjoyed the sunrise most every morning! We are already planning to return.

Four of us (two couples) stayed in the Beach Lane Hale the week of BTY-H Jubilee. We were pleasantly surprised at the wonderful accomodations. The house is new, clean, and very comfortable. We enjoyed the large kitchen, TVs in each bedroom and easy access to the beach as well as the BYU-H campus. We couldn't have asked for a nicer place to stay. The laundry facilities and outside shower were helpful as well. We would certainly consider another stay there if we get the opportunity to go back to paradise.

We stayed at the Beach Lane Hale for 32 days with our four children. What a wonderful place to experience the true slow idealic life Hawaii has to offer. The house is beautiful, spacious and extremely comfortable. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and quiet. Access to the beach is just a fewn steps away, less than a one minute walk. The House is in a central location with two grocery stores very close by, a post office, a couple of restaraunts, bank, and Dominoes pizza for kids. Overall, this is a super excellent choice for your stay in Hawaii. Thanks for everthing, we will see you soon on our next trip back.

This large two bedroom unit has just been totally renovated in 2005. The extra large full kitchen is surprisingly huge with 35 feet of counter space. I may have over built this one. The two bedrooms have large closets, king beds, tv/dvd's, and air conditioning. The living room has a full size futon bed and sofabed for four more additional guests. You won't be disapointed with the rental or location. Email me if you have any further questions. Aloha, Greg.
