We had the most wonderful week at this beach house! It was perfect for our needs. With 8 of us, our family of 6 (children ages 4-9) and my Mother and Father, we had plenty of room in this clean, comfortable beach house. The huge screened in porch is a definite plus! We enjoyed almost every breakfast and lunch out on the porch. The pool was large and we had it almost all to ourselves! The beach was gorgeous, with lots of shells and hardly any people! This was one of the quietest and relaxing vacations we have had. The beach house was so nice and it is in such a secluded, quiet area on Captiva Island, away from the busyness of Sanibel Island. But when we wanted to go to Sanibel Island for dinner, it was just a short car ride away! Two of our favorite meals were at the Green Flash on Captiva and Chip's Sanibel Steakhouse. We also took a sea life excursion cruise that we all enjoyed. It was a great hands-on experience for the kids. They got to touch puffer fish and go netting for crabs & sea horses too! Plus, we saw dolphins right off the boat! Of course we saw dolphins right off the beach at the beach house too almost every afternoon! If your looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation for the whole family, this is the place! The owner was wonderful too, very accommodating and responsive to our questions via email while we were there. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

We just spent a week at this fantastic property with our family of five (children aged 8-12). We were all very impressed. Of note, the furniture is new and the accommodations were more impressive in person than the pictures show. Most importantly, the owner was very easy to deal with and responsive to our needs. The sunset was the best way to cap off every day. In addition to the spectacular sunset, the dolphins showed up on our last night to bid us goodbye. The best part of this particular location on Captiva is that there were no crowds at all. It was the ultimate getaway and the least amount of stress I have felt in my adult life. We will definitely recommend this property to our friends and family.

We loved this clean, beautiful beach house! The house was very comfortable with large sliding doors leading onto the screened porch, within view of the ocean. Beautiful quiet beach, pleasant quiet neighborhood. We would definitely recommend it for a honeymoon or for a family!

We stayed at this house in November - had perfect weather as is common for this time of year - gorgeous sunsets as the house faces the west and is right on the Gulf - the house is in an area of South Seas that is much quieter than down by the Mucky Duck crowds - has a great pool and cabana - wonderful, large screened-in porch too - owner very accommodating and responsive to questions

Excellent views and access to the beach. Housekeeping had done an excellent job and the groundskeepers were very attentive. The house, however is in need of some TLC. Door to master bath did not close and we had to call the mgtment company to put a lightbulb in the same bathroom. Very tired looking furnishings and contrary to what the description indicated, the appliances in the kitchen were NOT new...the dishwasher doesn't fit the opening. The bed coverings and window coverings were not those shown in the pictures. Deceiving write up.
Owner response:We appreciate the feedback even though it is not consistent with other recent renter comments. The kitchen appliances were replaced in 2004. Some bed and window coverings are actually newer than those pictured on the site. The 2 maintenance concerns expressed are currently being addressed and we will take other steps necessary to keep our home as welcoming as it has been in the past.

Hi Steve, Had a great time at the house. Loved the comfortable house, the pool and the beach access. There was a little break in the mangroves just across the street for putting the kayaks in the water. My best, Jane

My husband and I rented this vacation home along with another couple, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The beach is easily accessible and beautiful, the grounds were well-maintained, and the complex was quiet. There is a feeling of privacy due to the layout of the buildings, but if you want to socialize with your neighbors that's an option, especially around the pool. The house was just as advertised - nicely appointed rooms, everything in good condition, and plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen was well-equipped. The WiFi worked fine. Even the beach equipment was in decent shape. My only suggestion would be for a little more lighting - we all like to read. Access to the bay is very easy as well - we rented kayaks and were able to put them in just across the road from the house, as the island is quite narrow at that point. Biking is also easy and safe in the area, and access to the resort (you will have to pay for tennis, etc.) is a plus. Ding Darling wildlife refuge is a little further away, but since there were more osprey than people on the bay side, along with multiple other bird species and manatees, we didn't even go there this trip. Plenty of good restaurants in Captiva, more on Sanibel. Definitely a recommendation for families, couples, groups of old friends.

Arrived in September with my 3 friends for a relaxing vacation - had a great time! Practically had the place to ourselves - gorgeous, flat calm beach, steps from the house. Nice large bedrooms, screened porch for sitting, but we spent most of our time on the beach! Pool right off the beach also. You can't ask for more! Can't wait to return!

Steve, We really enjoyed the time at Captiva and your beach house! We had two great weeks there. We have not thought too much about vacation next Summer yet , though would like to check with you if there is a possibility for a 2 or 3 weeks rental also next Summer – and if yes, what would the price be for a 2 and/or 3 weeks rental period. Thanks and we can certainly be considered as a reference for other guests, if this would be of value to you. Bjoern & Barbara Aune

We have stayed at this property more than once now, and the location is absolutley perfect: - on the South Seas property, one of a small group of beach homes, and just a short stroll to the beach, past the swimming pool (which is itself great and often with nobody in it). The fact that we've been here with family on a number of occasions now is probaly the best testimony. The owner Steve has always been most helpful.

We stayed a month on this beautiful island and enjoyed this beautiful location. From our screened porch we could see sunsets. We were only steps away to the pool and to the beach. We could walk to some of the restaurants in Captiva (a long walk) or walk down to redfish pass. The house itself is average but the location, view and total experience are way above average! It feels very safe also as it is gated. We quickly developed our favorite restaurants on Captiva and Sanibel and always take a boat ride on Captiva Cruises. It is always hard to leave this beautiful location.

We had a wonderful stay here at Captiva, the house was clean and everything was just fine. We had a small problem with something in the kitchen but in a few hours it was fixed.Very good service and help. The pool is also ok but with the beach so close we were more there. The owner is a very nice person we had good conversations via e-mail.
