Kolu Honu - it means "Three Turtles," named in honor of the sea turtles that inhabit the beautiful turquoise waters of Kaneohe Bay which dominate the magnificent view from the lanai of our luxurious, totally private, guest house.

Kolu Honu, built in 2004, provides the ultimate in both luxury and privacy for your vacation getaway to our island paradise. Custom designed and appointed to suit the most discriminating tastes, Kolu Honu features travertine marble floors throughout, granite and marble countertops in the kitchen and bath, a whirlpool tub with a view of the bay, a fully-appointed kitchen with top-of-the-line appliances, high speed internet access, and a private bedroom with a queen-size bed and reading nook.
Unlike other guest houses or bed and breakfast accommodations, our guest house is completely private, residing at the top of a hill nestled against the Ko'olau mountains, with some of the best hiking, snorkeling, and diving on O'ahu, just a short walk away.
Kolu Honu is located on the windward side of our beautiful island, away from the tourist-ridden hustle and bustle of Waikiki. This perfect location puts you no more than a 20-minute drive away from all the major O'ahu attractions - Waikiki restaurants and nightlife, the big surf of the north shore, and Lanikai Beach (one of the most beautiful beaches in the world). Enjoy as much, or as little, of the tourist attractions on Oahu as you like - then return home to the quiet and privacy of your own little home-away-from-home.

In the middle of Kaneohe Bay is a sandbar, the only one of its kind in the state. A sandy stretch of beach during lower tides which is completely submerged during higher tides, the Kaneohe sandbar is a popular near-shore destination for boaters, kayakers, and sailors looking for a place to park and enjoy the sun.
A mile long stretch of powder fine white sand with calm surf. Repeatedly chosen as the most beautiful beach in Hawaii. This is our absolute favorite beach among all the islands, it is absolutely breathtaking.
As seen in Forgetting Sarah Marshall. Absolutely beautiful views. Not the hike they complain about in the movie.
Hands down, absolute best shave ice on the island, accept no substitutes.

We had the pleasure of staying at Kolu Honu for 3 weeks while I worked on Oa'hu. It was everything described and then some! We felt at home immediately, and enjoyed every aspect of the house. The stunning view is addicting, and I found it hard to leave on the days I had to work, wanting to just stay and gaze out at Kaneohe Bay. Scott was wonderful to us and accomodated us at every need. We enjoyed the Lanai, eating meals we prepared in the wonderfully appointed kitchen, just relaxing and watching how the sunshine changed the look of the bay from one hour to the next, and the wonderful sounds and smell of rain falling, (not to mention a special treat of having the Blue Angles one weekend zipping across the bay over and over! We had a birds eye view!) Kolu Honu is also centrally located - which since I was working, was great! What a wonderful stay we had, and we will forever remember being "at home" in Kolu Honu. We hope we get the opportunity to return! Thank you Scott, I cannot begin to tell you how much we truly enjoyed Kolu Honu. It was a blessing beyond words.

We had a great time here. This home is cosy, has a view of the ocean that is fantastic. It is in a lovely neighborhood. I only wish we could have stayed longer. I own rentals and know the pitfalls of leasing. I highly recommend this property.

Exactly as advertised. Gorgeous views, all comforts including Jacuzzi bath (which also has the view), totally equipped kitchen, fabulous deck! Welcome basket with coffee and island fruit on arrival. You will not be disappointed! The driveway is also part of the adventure!

We stayed for 12 days at Kolu Honu and absolutely loved our time. Kolu Honu is truly a beloved Hawaiian home, shared with those who desire Island beauty of all kinds. Nestled into the forest with cascading flowers & bird song--the full front of Kolu Honu captures the ever changing colors of Kaneohe Bay - tide in, full on deep blues and tide out adds aqua & almost lime green to the palette. Sunrises each AM, each unique & full of color--true,spectacular views from every room. Enjoying our meals on the spacious lanai is a particular treat. Kolu Honu's high beam ceilings lined with bamboo & large Island style fans make one feel you're living outside! Kolu Honu is fully stocked & equipped--even thoughtful pen & postcards! Cooler box for day trips & snorkeling equipment for two--beach towels & binoculars--books on Island interests. Yes, the driveway is an adventure--one we had fun with! Renting a higher clearance car is a good idea. We are looking forward to our next trip--already booked!

My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kolu Honu for ten days in Sept. Let me tell you that pictures do not do this house justice. Waking up in the morning to some of the most amazing sunrises and just the neighborhood is great. If you are looking for a place that is a little piece of home this is it. We had people over that lived on the island and they let us know how amazing the place was compared places they had seen. Do yourself a favor ditch the hotel and stay here you won't regret it. We still talk about how this was the greatest vaca we have been on in three years.

Aloha! Our stay at Kolu Honu was a pefect way to spend a honeymoon. My wife and I walked into a clean, airy and comfortable home with music playing and a fresh platter of fruit on the counter. The house was exactly as described and the view from the lanai was the perfect way to start each morning. We would definitely come back again! Mahalo!

We had a fabulous honeymoon in Hawaii and, specifically, Kolu Honu was a great place to wake up and fall asleep every night! The house is BEAUTIFUL and the patio (lanai) is unbeatable! There are 180 degree views of the bay and you can watch boats and kayaking while you sip your morning coffee! MAHALO SCOTT!

Kolu Honu is recommended to all who need peace and quiet in paradise! We spent six days in June 08' with perfect weather and nice breazy nights. The property is perfectly appointed which left us with very little need to buy anything at the market (you even have 1st grade Henckel knives for gourmet cooking!). We have stayed at many rentals on the windward side and this is leagues beyond all. Ultimate privacy, breath-taking heavenly views, and much more. Thanks Scott!
