Why the Owner Chose Kihei Kai NaniThis is a hidden jewel in South Maui. We have the largest pool of any Kihei condo complex, but the biggest selling point for us was the two minute walk to the best swimming beach on Maui.I can carry my stand up paddle board to the beach and go out for hours, or swim and boogie board all morning. We can also walk along the beaches and parks for 5 uninterrupted miles. It is a great place to get some exercise, then cool off in the ocean.
The Unique Benefits at this CondoWe love this unit for its lightness and brightness. From the front door, which we leave open for the fragrant trade wind breezes, we can see the beautiful pink sunset over the ocean. From the lanai, we can see the moon rise over Haleakala. Right off the balcony is a great star fruit tree-we can just about pick them from the lanai, and it gives us afternoon shade and privacy. I also love being able to see my friends at the pool. We have tried to make this a very comfortable place to relax with lots of pillows and comfortable furniture. Everything that we need is here--beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, hair dryer, and even an iron. The best part is the beach just right across the street and that is the first place that we head.

We stayed at the Kihei Kai Nani for 7 nights and overall it was a good experience. The room is quite small and a little out-dated, but it has everything you will need! We were very happy to find beach chairs, an umbrella, boogie boards and other items that we could use at the beach. The fridge had a few items that had not expired yet that we're useful as we did not have to go buy them. The bathroom was small but sufficient. Their were two things about the room that need improvement. The first is the bed - the mattress was not good - I did not sleep through the entire night once. The second is the fact that there is a small ant problem in the room. They were really really tiny ants and were only around the sink and table. However we not leave any food out as they would eventually crawl on it. The ants did not bother us that much but it's something that needs to be taken care of. Although there were a few issues, overall we had a great stay and would consider staying there again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Clean and comfortable condo situated near everything you need whether for recreation, dining transportation or shopping. Third floor Lanai offers privacy for outdoor dining. Condo comes equipped with all the beach amenities and kitchen is also well equip. The grounds, pool and barbecue were well maintained. Office and Condo Owner were very helpful .
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, girls getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

This is the third stay we have made in this rental, which is a smaller studio (one room + separate bath) unit. It is tastefully decorated, clean, with comfy bed and all the kitchen and beach items you will want to make the stay enjoyable. The owners are friendly and helpful, and the price for this piece of paradise so close to the fantastic beaches of Kam 1, 2, & 3 makes it a real bargain. In the evenings you can sit on the lanai sipping your beverage, looking out at the fruit tree and the large freshwater pool, enjoying the beauty of Hawaii. Nearby shopping and good restuarants are within a block or two, easy to walk to. We are looking forward to our next visit!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway.

This "studio" is nothing like it is described nor is it in keeping with the quality of other condos we have rented at KKN. We rented from the owner for 10 nights in January but after arriving and finding the condo so dirty and in such bad shape that we didn't want to stay we contacted the owner. She apologized and told us to feel free to move, which we quickly arranged by contacting other owners on VRBO who had openings for the time we were going to be in Maui. Once we had another condo lined up we contacted her again but now she was only willing to return 50% of our rental amount even though the following was wrong with the condo when we arrived and we had only stayed 2 of 10 nights paid for: 1.) kitchen was dirty and all dishes, etc. grimmy with a film and in need of a good washing (no dishwasher) 2.) refrigerater rusted, holes cut in drywall in kitchen and left open, electrical outlets broken/not working 3.) a/c filter had 1/4" of thick grey gunk we had to clean before we could use it 4.) no "bed" as advertised -- just an old, worn out mattress on a board on the floor 5.) bedding worn, thread-bare and bleach stained 6.) advertised as "bright and light" but so dark it was impossible to read a book sitting on sofa; the only lamps had dark covered shades and were set into wall cabinets by the dressers. No lighting near sofa. 7.) bathroom counter grout filthy and faucet missing cover and filled with gunk/debris (didn't want to touch it turn on water) 8.) bathroom door broken, splintered and peeling at the bottom 9.) wall behind toilet rotting from a leak - smells terrible 10.) 3 washclothes/2 towels provided for a 10 night stay 11.) drapes were dusty and had large stains all along the bottom 1/3 I have photos to document all of these so if you would like to see actual photos of the how this condo looks please let me know. Please don't assume you can trust all KKN owners. It cost us a lot of money to find out that some owners have no pride of ownership, never check on their rentals and do not maintain them but are happy to take your money for not staying there. It won't keep us from staying at KKN in the future but we'll be much more careful about those we rent from, will insist on a contract (none provided by this owner) and one that gives us an out if the condo is not clean. We'll also not rent again using VRBO if there are no reviews.
