About the owner: My husband and I attended Garfield High School in Seattle Wa. We met at the live dances given elsewhere, and were first-loves at 15. We remained friends, and met twice again -- once after my husband returned from Viet Nam in 1969, and again after my divorce in 1975 when he went to school to become a commercial sea diver. We re-met 17 years ago in 1997 and married in 2000, so it's easy to remember our anniversary years though we always add 3 years. We both love to travel, and we immediately moved to Mazatlan, Mexico to get out of the rain in Seattle, where we lived. 10 years later, after residing in Arizona where I worked for the airlines, and then in Ventura County where we took care of my father for his last 3 l/2 years, we returned to Seattle, to reunite with our home front. However, the tropics never left our soul. After visiting Oahu, Kawai, and Maui, the Big Island of Hawaii is all the peace and beauty and fabulous life we hoped! A home with an ocean view! A lanai to spend outside! A pool! Market! Ocean beaches!Snorkeling! Restaurant choices everywhere! And a wonderful kind culture with the best people, caring about one another in unity.
Why the Owner Chose Kona Islander Inn:
Our lanai's ocean view was love at first sight, all amid tropical flowers and palms, sound of the surf, birds, and great ocean breeze. We love everything about life in the tropics. Kona, Hawaii's the best! We live in Seattle, though we left for 10 years to find the sun. we lived in Arizona, Mazatlan Mexico, and So California, but only in Kona can we live across from the ocean, see it, hear the waves crash, and in moments be sitting on the beach watching the tide roll in, spot turtles, crabs, spinning dolphins. We visit here twice a year to both enjoy it, and to check every detail and make upgrades. This is our heart's home and we love the idea of sharing it with others who also find our condo an oasis of the spirit. We love the air mixed with the ocean. We love the lush plants and flowers on the property, the birds, the market with all the fresh produce just a block. We have the ocean to swim, snorkel, and the pool with covered tables and chaise lounges, BBQ, hot-tub -- for space to read, to chat or do Wi-Fi. We've visited the other 3 islands most see, but Kona is the perfect village offering us a life-style that is fun, relaxed, varied every day, regenerating to our very soul.
