My husband and I just returned from the best vacation ever. We stayed with Bob and Anne for one week and everything was great. The apartment is as it looks on line. It is very clean and efficient and contained everything we needed, even beach chairs and a cooler. The central location is great and is only 5 minutes from Maho Bay. Bob and Anne are terrific hosts and were there to give us advice and ideas but they do not intrude on your privacy. We highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a really nice place to stay at a very reasonable rate. Joan and Rob

We enjoyed our stay at Paradise on the Rocks very much. This was our first visit to St John and we were stunned by its beautiful bays, pristine beaches, and breathtaking vistas. The apartment was clean, comfortable and very well appointed, and even included beach chairs and a cooler. The deck was great; nice view, surrounded by bougainvilleas and framed with a large banana tree. (If you haven't tried a mango banana, you're missing something!) Anne and Bob were wonderful hosts. We were welcomed with flowers and wine and Bob even took us for an orientation tour. Their suggestions and recommendations were priceless.
Owner response:We approve of this review by Barry and Linda. Please include it on our property description. Thank you. Bob Klenke

We stayed at Paradise On The Rocks for a week this past late October/early November, our third visit to St. John. Not only is this apartment a fantastic value, it's just a great place to stay. Even without the wonderful hospitality of hosts Bob and Anne it's central location, thoughtful appointment, beauty, and serenity make it an ideal "home base" for exploring the wonder that is St. John! Bob and Anne are there if you need anything, and virtually invisible when you don't - but do yourself a favor and try and spend some time talking to and getting to know them - you'll be glad that you did!

Anne and Bob: Thanks so much for a wonderful stay at your mountain retreat. Laura and I absolutely love your beautiful home, and your apartment is simply perfect. The troubles of our hectic lives just melt away when we gaze out at the mountains and the ocean from the deck. (The rum punches also help loosen us up!) Thanks also for giving us the inside scoop on the best beaches to visit! We'll be back!

Anne & Bob -- Wow, what an incredible week and our sincere thanks for your outstanding hospitality and the fantastic accomodations. We already miss the sights and sounds of your mountain escape. Your home is incredible and we loved its central proximity to all the great beaches and Coral Bay restaurants (we miss our Skinny burgers and rum punches). Thanks again for making our engagement getaway a week that we'll never forget. We can't wait to visit you again.

My husband and I stayed at "Paradise on the Rocks" in March of 2009 and couldn't have been happier. It was very nice, clean, quiet and the views were simply beautiful. Bob and Anne were very gracious hosts and went out of their way to make sure we were welcomed and comfortable. I highly recommend "Paradise on the Rocks" if you're looking for a nice, quiet, affordable 1 BR/1BA accomodation on St. John.

St. John is an amazing island. We enjoyed exploring the beautiful beaches, snorkeling, swimming and a little hiking. Where ever we went though, we enjoyed coming "home" to this lovely, spacious apartment on the mountain. We joked that it was a bit like living in a very large (and well equipped) tree house. Bob and Anne were gracious hosts who went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. We highly recommend the apartment and hope to get a chance to go back in a year or two.

We recently stayed here Jan 2009, and loved our stay. The property is pretty new, very clean, and layout was perfect (one level is HARD to find) for my husband, myself, and our 11 month old son. Location really is 10 minutes from north shore beaches (also hard to find). Loved having the separate bedroom for when baby went to sleep, we could hang out in the living room. Though the owners lived on the above level, there still is privacy, and we never heard them, nor did they hear our 11 month old son :-) which was great. The owners were very friendly and great resources- we will definately return and recommend to friends.

Bob and Anne, In our first trip to the US Virgin Islands, we couldn't have found a more hospitable host and hostess, a more beautiful view from our windows and deck, or a more wonderful experience. This was a much needed vacation; a break from reality, and our near approaching commitments...a calm before the storm. Speaking of storms, Hurricane Omar ended up being what we like to say-Weak Sauce. But it was a nice treat to have a lovely meal with you both between rain showers. When we weren't enjoying this lovely apartment, we were having incredible adventures snorkeling in Francis Bay, Waterlemon Cay, Haulover Bay, and Leinster Bay. It was by far the best snorkeling Ollie and I have ever experienced. Thank you for such a fabulous place to stay while we visited St. John. We hope we can make it back to this tropical paradise. Signed, Ollie and Sarah

Bob and Anne Many, many thanks for everything! You were gracious from start to finish. And we were grateful for your support, advice and happy spirits. We loved your home and enjoyed our stay tremendously. All the best to both of you. We'll see you again when Michael signs up for the 8 Tuff Miles. [St. John's famous, annual foot race, editor]
