STUDIO IN A VILLAGE HOUSE...
Whatever your holiday expectations, the old hillside village of St Saturnin les Apt can supply. Nestling on the undulating hillside, St Saturnin is one of the gentler and more traditional French villages. The tranquil setting is reflected in the ever increasing seasonal changes, be it from the sparkling white blossom of the cherry orchids, the golden sunflower fields, and the heady smells and assorted colours of the lavender fields. The village of Sault the largest lavender growing area of France is just half an hour’s drive.
Olive groves and vineyards abound, a true riot of colour basking in the very special light of Provence. The village hosts cafes, bars, shops, supermarket, restaurants, galleries, and artist workshops whilst still retaining the charm of a working community.
THE STUDIO...
The studio is fully contained, situated on the ground floor with its own private entrance. The studio consists of a pretty fully-equipped kitchen, delightful shower room with water closet and a charming living/dining area. There is a television, video and stereo with lots of videos, CDs, and books to choose from after a hard day of sightseeing. Aperitifs can be enjoyed in the small romantic courtyard. Come and enjoy a holiday in an authentic Provencal setting.
EXTRA ROOM....
A second room with twin beds, shower and WC, tea & coffee-making facilities, and a mini fridge (no cooking facilities) is available on request. The room is NOT INCLUDED in the price of the studio, but can be booked with it or seperately. Both studio and room sleep two. Please ask for rates and availability.
THE AREA...
Marseille and Nimes are the nearest airports, just one hour away. Avignon, 45 minutes away is where the TGV (fast trains) arrives. This connects with the Eurostar at Lille. At all locations the larger car rental companies are represented. Your holiday home is ideal for day excursions throughout Provence. The coast, be it the Carmague or the Cote d’Azur is within one and a half hours drive away. The Luberon Valley has some of the most beautiful villages in France and the charming towns of Aix en Provence, Arles, Avignon, and San Reme de Provence are in close proximity. Isle-sur-la-Sorgue said to be the busiest antique centre outside Paris is a delight, especially on a Sunday with its bustling street markets. Your nearest town is Apt only eight kilometers away, which has a splendid Saturday market.
ACTIVITIES...
The village has a municipal swimming pool and tennis courts. St Saturnin is situated in the Luberon national Park with miles of graded walks perfect for a walking holiday. There is also cycling tracks, horseback riding, and, of course, the ubiquitous markets of Provence.
