Spacious & luxurious two bedroom and two full bath condominium on the slopes. The photo of our building with the chairlift in the foreground shows just how close we are to chairs five and six. This is a true ski-in, ski-out condominium located about 100 feet from the chairlifts and about 100 yards from the ice-skating rink and main lodge area. No streets to cross, ski to and from your door. This is total convenience at our favorite Tahoe ski resort.
The condo built in 2000,has many upgrades and amenities including huge windows, ten+ foot ceilings, small outside deck with BBQ, large screen plasma TV with DVD, hardwood flooring, gas fireplace, granite countertops, washer dryer, and high speed wireless internet access. The dining table folds out to comfortably seat eight.
The condo has beds for six; the master bedroom has a king bed and its own full bathroom. Bedroom two has two twins which can be pushed together and made into a single king using our king sized sheets. A queen size portable air bed can be (automatically) inflated for the living room as needed.
Our building, Snowcrest Lodge, has a new and gorgeous jacuzzi/spa with views out to the mountains. There is nothing like it after a hard day on the slopes or trails.
Tired of skiing? In 45 minutes you can be at South Lake Tahoe sightseeing, gambling, shopping, or taking in a show. It's really the best of all worlds; Kirkwood with its world class skiing is quiet, peaceful, and away from the crowds and yet only a short (and beautiful) drive to Lake Tahoe's action.
During the summer months, the chairlifts open to take hikers and bikers -- including their bikes -- to the top of the mountain. Enjoy the endless trails, views, wildlife, and solitude. Nearby Carson Pass is a great starting point for hikes to Meese Meadows, Frog Lake, Winnemucca Lake, and points beyond. The wildflowers at these high elevation (8,000 to 10,000 feet) bloom throughout most of the summer and are nothing short of spectacular.
Kirkwood is a great place to bring your dog. If you plan to bring a pet, please let us know in advance.
