  This beach house is in a great location with good emminities. Elena and Carla prepared GREAT local meals, cleaned the house and even did our laundry! Elias keep the grounds and pool clean and helped us quickly when we broke the house key. The views from most of the bedrooms are fantastic. The LARGE front porch was the favorite hangout for the view, the hammock, to eat and to get out of the sun. A 15 minute walk into "town" gets you to a drug store, souvenir shop and a small convenience store. We ate most meals at the house but there is a nice little restaurant right next to the house and a few more in town (if you make a reservation they will come pick you up). Most of the hired help speak very little English. We found the google translator to be very essential! The house is generally in good shape but does need a few repairs: Faucet in the kitchen, drain stopper in the master bath, speakers on the deck, etc. nothing major. Also, the upstairs is connected to the downstairs only via outside steps. That was not a major problem but something I was expecting. It is a great house for a large group. We had 6 adults and 3 children.

  Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children.

  Owner response: Thank you for your honest review. We're glad our staff kept you fed well and things clean and that you enjoyed to location so much! We do however need to make it clearer to our guests that Elias is more than just a groundskeeper, he is the maintenance man. He is there every morning and has on the premises anything needed to fix the small stuff immediately, if it brought to his attention while you're there. The minor things were taken care of in 10 minutes. Our guests are so very kind to our staff and we all appreciate it very much but they are there to take care of you. Please take advantage of their talents, bring any need to their attention and they will handle it, it's their job and they are happy to take care of anything you need. Don't sweat the small stuff on vacation, let Elias sweat it. He's great at it. Being the number one rental in the area means we're always booked, when things need attention it helps us and the following guests if you bring these to our attention immediately. We want to make sure you enjoy more than just the best location. Mark/Owner

  Our objective was to have a beautiful yet peaceful and relaxing destination wedding. After the hours of research on internet and numerous phone calls to those abroad, we finally took a "chance" at the Flamingo Beach Casa Playa Blanca. It could not have went any better, 10 out of 10!!! We had a wedding party of 25 with ages ranging from 18 to 75 and everyone had an absolute blast. Flamingo Beach in comparison to near by areas (Tamarindo), is perfect for those not wanting a "touristy" vacation spot. We had everything we needed in Flamingo Beach yet felt like the beach was ours! The house and pool area were very clean and accommodating to all age ranges. The younger crowd had a great time enjoying the outdoor bar area while the older crowd had plenty of room to comfortably lounge. Estefania (Cook at Casa Playa Blanca) was essentially our wedding planner and helped us with all the details for our big day. She helped select the rehearsal dinner location at Las Brisas (10 out of 10!), bonfire for the wedding reception and countless other little things that we really never thought of. I can't type enough nice things about Estefania on how she was instrumental on making our wedding so memorable. A real joy to be around. She cooked amazing food for us and was always there to help us with whatever we needed (with a smile on her face). Jean Luc from MarySol catered our reception on the beach (just steps away from the house) and did a beautiful job arranging the food and wedding setup - with excellent presentation. Our guests were still raving about his food weeks after the reception! The wedding arch, flower arrangements, seating and tables were 1st class....all arranged by Jean Luc. Jonas (Adventure Tours) was of great help as well. He arranged zip lining, fishing trips and numerous other transportation aids that were used throughout the trip. He understood that it was difficult to juggle 25 people of various interests and he seemed to always make it fun for everyone and was flexible with last minute changes. In conclusion, this was a very memorable wedding and it was only possible by all the people mentioned - so helpful, accommodating, and just great people to get to know. I honestly couldn't have pictured for our special day to turn out any better! Thank you Mark for sharing such a beautiful property!

  We the people of Virginia do decree, Everything was awesome! This house is located in the best place possible. We had everything we needed - pool, Tiki bar, awesome accommodations and the best service we could imagine. Coco Loco's was very convenient as well. Elias did a fine job of keeping the pool clean and the place secure. We also appreciate all that Jonas did for us. Pura Vida Baby!

  What a wonderful time it was. This was the perfect getaway for our group. Our family truly enjoyed the house, staff, pool, beach, Jonas, etc..! The food was fantastic and everyone was so helpful, our family really enjoyed themselves. Thank you for everything and we hope to be back soon!

  What a great week in Flamingo Beach. We had our wedding on the beach in front of the house. Couldn't have been better! There is not enough wonderful things I can say about the crew at the beach house. Jonas has also been so wonderful and patient with us! What really makes the trip in Flamingo is the people and the beautiful location. We're so glad we picked this spot for our special day!

  Our week here has been amazing! Between swimming in the pool, body surfing on the beach, enjoying the town and the amazing cooking, we had a blast. Our tours with Jonas were great - he's super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We also took advantage of "Coco Loco" just down from the house. They made great drinks and snacks. Elias was also great. It was nice to have him around during the night. During our last night, he made us a bonfire so we could roast marshmallows. The weather was the best part, so warm with slight winds. Thanks so much for everything - a great trip we'll never forget.

  Absolutely Perfect!!! The only way to describe this place. 14 family members from Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Colorado and Saskatchewan, Canada. We also met up with our foreign exchange student from Costa Rica after 22 years - so cool! Many many wonderful memories - We will be back! Thanks to all, especially the staff.

  This place has provided for an absolutely perfect week! It was a perfect balance of relaxing - taking turns between the pool and ocean and day trips with Jonas - can't imagine a better tour guide! We went to Rincon de la Vieja and Arenal. Both highly recommended. Arenal was a long trip with a good amount of physical exertion but totally worth it. Have your meals at the house as much as possible, the cooking is dee-lish! Thank you to all!

  Right on the beach with the best location-great pool and Tiki Bar-Generally neat and clean with a few exceptions..master bath chalkey and sink very loose on wall..Some small maintenance problems like leaky faucets..Needs some bath updates. Kitchen cabinets drawers somewhat loose..Well furnished overall..Very secure with night time guard and help very friendly..Great out side dining area with new beautiful tile..Nice to have computer and wifi..Good little restaurant next door..Beach very clean and view marvelous. Would visit again. Property for sale. If I had the $$$ I would buy it!!
