This 2 Story Home, feels like huge luxury wooden ship, on 2.6 acres of some of the most beautiful land you will find on Maui. It feels like the Hawaii many people long for. You are surrounded with hundreds of species of botanicals, tropical flowers, fruit trees, song birds, yet you are only a short 20 minute drive to Paia, the most happening town on Maui. Free 7mbit Wifi. Pricing is about half of what is was a few years ago.
We offer a serene, inspiering sweet place with great ocean view and quiet surroundings in our beautiful Log Home (Arctic Pine) brought by ship from Scandinavia and re assembled on Maui. All the amenities you would want are here (except maybe a dishwasher).
Wake up to the beautiful sound of melodious thrush and have your coffee/tea on the balcony with the fantastic view of the Great Pacific Ocean. Have fun figuring out what the different spice/fruit trees, birds are down on the lawn.
Hot tub is maintained with clean rainwater and an ozoneator. An experience very different from chlorinated tubs. Such a pleasure relaxing, while watching the milky way, shooting stars ( in season) or the different phases of the moon.
The closest small town is Haiku 10 min away, which has all good places to eat, grocery stores, post office, gym, yoga studio, doctor and small shops are also there. Gasolin up the road from center.
20 min from Paia, which has the best food store in the State, Mana Foods, many restaurants, galleries and stores and 20 min. from Makawao with it’s many galleries, restaurants and stores.

The scent from many different trees, vines and flowers really tantalizes your senses and you really feel the special place the Chalet are placed on.You will get to see natures wonders with your own eyes up close and personal.

A unique stay in an uncrowded part of Maui

This is a unique Maui experience, off the beaten path. Come here if you want an alternative to the typical tourist stay on the other side of Maui. It is situated at the beginning of the road to Hana, which is an adventure in itself. We loved the quiet privacy and the way the tradewinds blow through the chalet most days. It is clean and well organized with nice beds and linens and the beautiful woods inside make for a warm feeling of hominess. My cell phone had good reception; my husband's did not. Steve and Jette were very responsive to our queries and requests, including providing us with a laptop and Internet access. In the area, we really liked two towns: Malakawo (sic) and Paia. In Paia we recommend the local grocery store and a great little restaurant Des Amis (parking can be tough - ask Steve/Jette for tips). Mama's Fish House is high end, with great service and location, but the food was uneven for the strong prices. Pacific Whale Foundation snorkel trip to Molokini is worthwhile - they have naturalists on board. If you are a first-timer to Maui wanting to snorkel, remember that the beaches are often hidden behind large hotels, but all have public access. Beach signage is poor and they often have two or three names. We liked the beaches past Kihei. Favorite Hawaiian radio station: 107.5 KHEI - The Island. To Steve and Jette we say Mahalo for being friendly and supportive hosts, including the tasty samples of local fruit!

Paradise found!!! The cool ocean breezes, the stars at night from the jacuzzi, the fruit trees all around, and the sweet smells of flowers all around.. what more can you ask for. This is a place to truly relax and decompress. Plus you are close to Hana and all the other sites you might want to visit. We didn't want to leave!!

This is a beautiful house, in a beautiful rain forest. It would rain nightly and cool off to 70 degrees in August, After about 8 am it would be bright and sunny. The plant life here is amazing, every morning we had Passionfruit with our breakfast that grew right in the driveway. All sorts of fruits and flowers grow here and the yard just smells amazing, especially in the morning. Steve and Jette, the owner are amazing people who were very helpful and on two different nights we spent time just hanging out with them at their home nearby (but not visible or too close). The closest towns are Haiku and Paia, we spent a lot of time in paia as we loved it and they have GREAT food there. This place is right off the road to Hana, a lot of nearby stuff to explore. It was VERY private and we loved the outside jacuzzi, a couple nights we sat outside and stared at the stars from the jacuzzi, the sky here is just amazing at night. Overall it was just an amazing trip and the Chalet was an amazing place to stay, nothing bad at all to say about it. It was just a great time.
