This home sleeps up to 16 and is a spacious, air-conditioned, four bedroom, two bathroom lakeside home with huge yard for the entire family to enjoy. The McCarthy House is a roomy 2900 square feet and is exactly what you come up north to enjoy - rustic architecture with huge lakefront windows, a gorgeous lakeside location in close proximity to everything, natural fireplaces, and private dock for your boat on an all-sports lake!

This home has three levels; the main level contains the living room, two bedrooms with two queen beds and two singles, bathroom, kitchen and access to the deck. On the way to the upper level which has a private bedroom with two queen beds, you pass through a loft area which will accommodate sleeping for two in a daybeds. The lower level contains the wet bar, separate well-lit family area with full patio doors looking out to the lake, another room with pool table and ping-pong table, and finally another bedroom with a queen bed.

The lower level exits onto the large patio area and huge grassy yard. Down by the lake, a large shady pergola provides a place for seating while you are watching the toddlers play in the water. This is 1930-acre Duck Lake, which is a great lake for both swimming and fishing. Shallow and without rocks at the shoreline areas, it is 89 feet in the middle and fisherman in the family can catch lake trout, brown trout, northern pike, perch, bluegill and other pan fish. Bring your boat and park it at the private dock provided at this home.

We are located on a peninsula of great family homes which provide privacy, safety for family biking, and accessibility to outside activities in this area. Traverse City is only 12 minutes away and Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore Area dune climb is 30 minutes away. 27 fine golf courses, antique and boutique shopping, wineries, cinemas, miniature golf, skiing at Crystal Mountain, nearby cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling at the groomed Grand Traverse trails provide entertainment for the entire group.

The restaurants in this area of northwest Michigan are numerous and many fine restaurants are unsurpassed in their quality. A fully stocked kitchen and gas grill on the deck provide cook-in opportunities for when you don't want to leave this beautiful home. This rental runs from Friday to Friday and no smoking is permitted in the house.
