The Kamaole Sands Resort is a well cared for and managed resort in southern Kihei. We are very close to the Wailea area of Maui, which has many beautiful golf courses, dining and shopping areas. The Kamaole Beaches, I, II and III are all wonderful beaches staffed with county Lifeguards which offer a safe area for families to enjoy the ocean. The beaches in the Wailea area area also beautiful beaches to enjoy.

The Kamaole Sands offers its guests free Mai Tai parties every Wednesday from 3-5 at the resort's pool area. The Kamaole Sands also has a on-site conciere desk that guests can book and learn about the many island activities and attractions. This little cove offers snorkeling with a private away from it all feeling. You may want to wear water shoes as you enter the cove snorkeling area. Be careful if the swell is from the south. Snorkeling in the early morning hours is usually best.
This is a wonderful long streching beach to enjoy fantastic views of the ocean, and to stroll the soft sand as you enjoy the fantastic "beach houses" You can park in the gravel lot next to Sarento's Italian Restaurant. All Maui beaches are public.
A fun day learning about Ocean Life. This is also the location of Maalea Harbor.
This is a fun town to "explore" have lunch or dinner and to do some shopping. I recommend a mid-day or later day trip to Lahina. The middle of the day can be a bit warm walking around unless you find a cool drink, the large Banyon Tree for some shade, or get a Dairy Queen to cool off with.
This is a popular Scenic Look Out stop along the highway. In the winter time this is a nice vantage point to do some quick whale watching from.
This may be a point of your day trip out to the popular Molokini Crater for snorkeling or scuba diving, or other water exploration trips.

Thank you, Rich & Sharon! The condo was great, just what we expected. There was plenty of room for 2 couples. The 2 lanais were great for sitting outside with coffee, breakfast, reading, etc. The pool are is pretty nice, and the beach is very close by - just across the street! There are also plenty of stores and restaurants that could be walked to if a person did have a car. This was our first time to Maui, Rich was very helpful answering all my questions before we even booked the condo. The condo was clean when we arrived, kitchen had plenty of untensils, tools, and appliances. The storage closet on the living room lanai has beach gear, coolers, chairs, etc. We would recommend this condo to others, and would definitely stay here again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We had a wonderful 22 day stay and really appreciated the space afforded by this condo. It was everything we needed for our family vacation. We are already talking about next year! The complex itself is just beautiful... and my younger daughter, a landscape designer, was blown away by the grounds at the Kamaole Sands Resort and the way in which the landscaping has been done. We found the condo very good for the children, and each one could be put down to bed in a closed bedroom. We really like the quietness of building 8 and the overall quietness of the whole complex. We enjoyed the BBQ's and loved the pools. Seeing so many whales, so active and so close into the shore, this year was a special experience for all of us. We enjoyed the drive all around the Lahaina landscape of NW Maui... the Kahului loop. What spectacular sea cliffs and rock formations. Our morning walk on the hotel walkway from Ulua to Polo Beach is another favorite. There are so many more things for us to see and do... returning to Maui is a GIVEN !

Hello Rich & Sharon Thank you very much for providing such a welcoming, comfortable condo. Our family had an amazing holiday and Christmas celebration in Kihei. Some of us attended midnight Mass at St. Theresa Church. It was a unique experience. We even stayed for the hospitality and lunch afterward. We found your written information very helpful in planning our daily activities. The Hawaiian decor added to the ambieance. We enjoyed the beaches, shops and restaurants that were so close. The amenities at the resort were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the Mai Tai party with the Hawaiian dancing and singing. The beach chairs and cooler were also appreciated. Our only disappointment is the fact that we were'nt able to stay longer! We all felt a sense of sadness when it was time to leave. There is already talk of a return in the future. We wish you and your family the best in 2011.

Purcell’s Condos in Maui We are returning to one of the Purcell’s condos in Maui for the fifth successive year. The units are in Kamaole Sands, one of the nicest and best kept resorts in Kihei, with excellent facilities such as barbecue areas and swimming pool. The condo units themselves are very well appointed, and are kept in very good condition with regular upgrades. For us, it is almost like coming home as we know where everything is kept, and there are no surprises! Obviously, going to the same place so many times means that we like it, and we would not think of going anywhere else. Highly recommended for a relaxing vacation! The Bruce’s, Vancouver, Canada

We stayed in this unit with our twin toddlers and it was PERFECT. So close to ammenities, and the 2nd bedroom with it's own bath was a godsend! It was an updated unit that was well laid out and perfect for families. The parking was close to the unit which was helpful when carrying up kids and groceries, and the pools and bbq areas were also a nice touch. Thank you very much for allowing us to stay in your condo for our 2 week vacation, it felt like a home away from home!

I stayed at this beautiful condo on my first trip to the awesome island of Maui -- IT COULDN'T HAVE BEEN ANY BETTER! The condo was more than I could have asked for, the accomodations made you feel like you were on an island getaway while being set up with the all the luxuries of home. The galley style kitchen opens up to the dining-living area which keeps the conversation flowing and the fun-going without leaving the room! There is room enough to sleep six - master bedroom features a king size bed with its own private lanai, the front bedroom includes two twin beds with it's own private bath, the fold out queen-size hide-a-bed is located in the living room which also is next to the other larger lanai area - a perfect place to start your day. There is also another larger main bathroom across from the Master bedroom area along with a washer and dryer to do quick loads of laundry after a day at the beach. For the vacationers who need to stay in contact with the mainland, there is a cozy office-like nook available to stay in touch, complete with a computer hook up and outlets. If you are a beachcomber, Kamaole Beach III is just a short walk across the road from the Kamaole Sands gated community. If it is a swimming pool that fits your needs for the day, the resort pool is a great fit. Plenty of chaise lounge chairs available, umbrella tables and chairs and shaded areas if you have had your share of Maui sunshine! There is also gas-grill areas available for casual meals you can cook yourself - a nice change from eating out every meal. The owners were GREAT to work with who are honest and willing to work with whatever your vacation needs may be. I would HIGHLY recommend this condo to any and everyone wanting to experience the beautiful sunrise and sunsets of Maui along with all that the island has to offer. I WOULD NOT LOOK FOR ANY OTHER CONDO ACCOMODATIONS FOR FUTURE TRIPS TO PARADISE!! ALOHA!

We had a wonderful time in Maui !! There is no comparison to the experience that we had on Oahu a couple years ago. We went on a whale watch with the Pacific Whale Foundation on the last day, and had an incredible experience. A whale approx. 30 ft. long approached and circled our boat for about 20 minutes hollding us hostage and providing some great photos. I wouuld highly recommend people to take one of these trips out of Maalaes Harbor, the captian of the boat said that the next month will be the peak of the whale season. You guys have a wonderful place and a great location. We will certianly share your name with anyone that is interested in staying in Maui. As they say.... "Maui No Ka oi !" Its the best!
