  Hello Dorothy and John, I just wanted to send off a quick note thanking for having us stay in your wonderful house in St. Lucia. Everything was perfect, the weather, the house, and, your contacts in St. Lucia (Luenda, Ena, Paul) . Everyone was extremely helpful and added to a most enjoyable winter vacation. We read all you recommendations for dinner and hit most of the high spots. We went on an all day trip down the coast in an open jeep and came back by catamaran. This gave us the best flavor of the island. Rodney Bay was very nice and we went to Pigeon Island to climb both peaks. All in all we could not have had a better vacation. the views from the veranda were outstanding. I wish I could wake up everyday looking at the Caribbean. Regards, John

  It was more than I ever could have expected. The Villa was wonderful and exactly as it is described in the ad and the pictures, except the sunsets are much more exquisite than described. It was so relaxing, it was hard to leave to venture out to see the island. St. Lucia is a beautiful island - very lush and exotic. Ena, our concierge, was extremely helpful prior to our trip and during the entire week helping us navigate comfortably. The owners put us in touch with a driver, Paul. Paul was most knowledgeable about St. Lucia and is an expert driver! I highly recommend Paul as a driver and tour guide. All the recommendations made by the owners and\or Ena were spot on.

  Sur la Mer was everything we dreamed and imagined it would be!! It is even better than the pictures!! This was our first trip to St Lucia, but it will not be our last! St Lucia has plenty to do if you are adventurous, or you can just sit back and enjoy the beauty of it all from Sur La Mer!! The sunsets are breathtaking!! The owner is extremely accomodating in answering all questions and has several people on staff to assist you with anything you may need while you are there!! We rented a car, which was a bit of an adventure in itself, since we are from the USA. The roads are not as bad as some reviews, except in places (such as the road up to Sur La Mer!!). That being said, Sur La Mer is located between Castries and Rodney Bay and it is not expensive to take a driver. From there, you can get to any excursions, so I don't really think a car is necessary...at least not for all week! Paul, the driver for Sur La Mer is absolutely fabulous!! He knows everything about the island and can give you lots of tips on where to go, and get you there safely!! While the trip from the airport seems a little pricey, look at it as your first excursion and enjoy the ride while learning all about St Lucia! Ena, the rental agent and concierge, was always available to call when we needed help booking excurisons, or any kind of information. She set up a wonderful excursion for us that sailed from Rodney Bay to the Pitons, then docked in Soufriere where we went to the volcano,Sulpher Springs, got into a waterfall, Bontanical garden and a cocoa plantation where we had lunch!! Then we sailed to a black sand beach for snorkeling before returning to Rodney Bay!! It was a jam-packed day, but so much fun! She also scheduled massages for us, right on the veranda at Sur La Mer. It was beautiful and relaxing!! We bought groceries and cooked quite a bit at the villa. Ena and Paul can tell you where to go to get the best fresh fish and anything you need! Rodney Bay has a nice beach aea in front of Spinnakers and they have good food and drinks. You can also walk just a short hike to Calabash Cove and use their beach and restaurant. We only got a small taste of St Lucia on this trip and will go back again!! The island is wonderful, but the moments spent at Sur La Mer will be so relaxing and beautiful, you'll find it hard to leave!!

  The house was just what we had in mind. The pictures portrayed it just as it was. The view was incredible! I loved waking up to that every morning. The pool was perfect along with all the outdoor living areas. Just what we needed, except a few more days would have been even better!! Thank you John and Dorothy for letting us stay at the perfect Caribbean villa!!!

  I had intended to send you an email regardless to let you know what a wonderful vacation we had in St. Lucia and how perfectly suited Sur La Mer was for our family. We really enjoyed being able to call your property 'our home away from home' and very much look forward to the possibility of renting the villa again as it was all we had hoped for and more! My wife & I are already talking about returning for another visit and both of us believe that a week was just not long enough - perhaps we could investigate a ten day rental next time.

  The VRBO listing accurately depicted the property. The property was in perfect condition and the owner, rental agent (Ena), and housekeeper (Luenda) were all helpful. Vernita, who drove the taxi from the airport to the house, also provided helpful information. I would recommend this property to someone else because I hope to go back for longer than one week next time. The path the gardener cleared through the woods to get to the beaches at East Winds and Windjammers was easily traversed (even barefooted). I didn't have a bad meal while in St. Lucia. My favorite was Dasheene at Ladera Resort south of Soufriere (a fairly terrifying drive if you're not used to driving on the left side of the road!). I also loved Starfish in the Rodney Bay Marina.

  Just returned from an unfortgettable 2 weeks at Sur Le Mer. The pictures do not do justice to this villa, it's larger than you think and is so well equiped and comfortable. The location is perfect if you like privacy & tranquility as you are not overlooked, we spent most nights just sat on the very spacious balcony listening to the crickets and swimming in the very large infinity pool whilst looking out over the beautiful Caribbean. Then retiring to the biggest most comfortable bed we have ever had and believe me we have been lucky in experiencing villas worldwide! The housekeeper, Luenda is a absolute sweetheart, she is meticulous with the cleaning and full of local knowledge, always smiling and cheerful, I wish I could bottle it! She respected our privacy but having said that I had plenty of laughs with her. I would recommend hiring a jeep as the road to the villa is alittle 'rough', but nothing to be scared of, and the location is perfect as you are only 10 mins drive to Rodney bay, for restaurants, supermarkets, shops,beaches and bars etc., and 10 mins drive in the other direction brings you into Castries, where you can experience the wonderful local markets and do try the Roti at Aunties in the market, it's delicious. There is a path at the villa which is an easy 5 to 10 mins walk which takes you to the beaches at East Winds and Windjammer where you can get a meal or beer, but be warned you will be paying hotel prices. It is not recommended however to use the path at night due to it's narrowness, but believe me it's very safe when you can see where you are going. The beach at Rodney bay is fine sand but backed by hotels, however take time to walk along to the end, left side looking at the sea, and you will find a very friendly local bar, where you will be made very welcome and the beers are half the price of the hotels and try her wonderful fish cakes, only $1 each. The people of St Lucia are the most friendliest we have encountered so please repay them by eating & drinking at their establishments which are full of characters who make you welcome. All in all, I would highly recommend Sur Le Mer and hope to return next year.

  Sur La Mer is an absolutely stunning place with breath-taking views! The pictures represent the house perfectly-what you see is what you get and more! While this was our 10 year wedding anniversary trip without our children, I would definitely recommend this house for families: There is plenty of room, the property is fenced in, and the closest beach is only about 5 minutes to walk! Also, the grocery store, the restaurants in Rodney Bay, and Reduit Beach are a 10 minute drive away, so shopping with the kids doesn't become a major excursion! Also, we rented a car at the airport and found our way to Sur La Mer without any problems-Ena provides very detailed directions and the drive, while adventurous at times, is easily accomplished. In all, we very much enjoyed our stay at the house and on St. Lucia. The seclusion of the home is ideal to relax and decompress, which is what we were looking for in a vacation rental. We sought serenity rather than the hustle and bustle of the resorts and Sur La Mer is the perfect place to get away from it all. We are definitely planning to return but will bring the children along next time. Thank you for a wonderful time!

  This is a terrific vacation home. It is close to restaurants, beaches, and the view is beautiful. Highly recommend.

  Dear John, A belated email to say what a truly wonderful time we had at your perfect house in St Lucia. We just loved every minute and were devastated not to get marooned there due to any volcanic ash cloud! What a special place - sitting on your verandah with nothing in sight but the Caribbean Sea is truly magical and feels like there is no one else around. We also had some wonderful meals in Rodney Bay (Buzz was especially friendly and great food) and a fun day out to the Pitons, Volcano etc. We would just love to visit again next April... All the best and a big thanks for your wonderfully helpful team in St Lucia. Luenda was lovely, Robert hugely helpful and the car hire lady just brilliant. Caroline
